Tensile characteristics of both Al–0.21wt%Au and Al–0.21wt%Au–0.21wt%In alloys were investigated in the temperature range 493 K to 553 K. The coefficient of work hardening, χ = ∂σ2/∂², yield stress, σy, and fracture stress, σf , decreased with increasing deformation temperature (T) and exhibited abrupt increase at about 523 K. On the other hand, the fracture strain, ²f , and dislocation slip distance, L, increased with increasing deformation temperature and exhibited minima at about 523 K. The activation energy was determined in the range around 523 K to clarify the observed change in the behaviour of the hardening characteristics of the investigated samples.Istraživali smo istezna svojstva legura Al–0.21wt%Au i Al–0.21wt%Au–0.21wt%In na temperaturama 493 K do 553 K. Koeficijent mehaničkog očvršćivanja, χ = ∂σ2/∂², granica elastičnosti, σy, i granica loma, σf , smanjuju se pri povišenim temperaturama istezanja (T) te pokazuju nagao porast na oko 523 K. Nasuprot tome, lomno istezanje, ²f , i prosječna duljina klizanja dislokacija, L, povećali su se s povišenom temperaturom istezanja, a pokazuju i minimum na oko 523 K. Radi objašnjenja opaženih promjena u procesu očvršćivanja ispitivanih uzoraka odredili smo aktivacijsku energiju na temperaturama oko 523 K

The changes in chemical composition, amylose and minerals content after soaking, cooking, germination and fermentation of three white sorghum varieties, named ‘Dorado’, ‘Shandaweel-6’, and ‘Giza-15’ were investigated. The chemical composition concluded including crude protein, oils, crude fiber and ash. Crude protein content ranged from 10.62 to 12.46% in raw sorghum. ‘Shandaweel-6’ was the highest variety in crude protein content (12.46%). ‘Dorado’ was the highest variety in oils and ash (3.91 and 1.45%). ‘Shandaweel-6’ was the highest variety in crude fiber (1.85%). Amylose content ranged from 18.30 to 20.18% in raw sorghum. Amylose was higher in ‘Giza-15’ than other varieties. Minerals content i.e., Zn, Fe, Ca, K, Na, Mg, Mn and Cu were investigated. Results indicated that raw ‘Dorado’ was the highest variety in K, Mg, Ca, Fe and Mn (264.53, 137.14, 33.09, 7.65 and 1.98 mg/100 g). While, ‘Shandaweel-6’ was the highest variety in Zn and Cu (5.02 and 0.84 mg/100 g). Finally ‘Giza-15’ was the highest variety in P and Na (381.37 and 119.29 mg/100 g). After treatments chemical composition, amylose and minerals were decreased. Processing techniques reduce the levels of antinutritional organic factors, which including phytates, phenols, tannins and enzyme inhibitors by releasing exogenous and endogenous enzymes such as phytase enzyme formed during processing

The changes in crude protein, free amino acids, amino acid composition, protein solubility, protein fractionation and protein digestibility after germination of sorghum were investigated. Sorghum varieties (Dorado, Shandaweel-6, Giza-15) were soaked for 20 h followed by germination for 72 h; the results revealed that crude protein and free amino acids in raw sorghum varieties ranged from 10.62 to 12.46% and 0.66 to 1.03 mg/g, respectively. Shandaweel-6 was the highest variety in crude protein and free amino acids content. After germination, crude protein was decreased and free amino acids were increased. There was an increase in content of valine and phenylalanine amino acids after germination. On the other hand, there was a decrease in most of amino acids after germination. After germination protein solubility was significantly increased. Regarding protein fractions, there was an increase in albumin, globulin and kafirin proteins and a decrease in cross linked kafirin and cross linked glutelin after germination

    Implementing a Three-Tier Data Warehouse

    Get PDF
This paper aims at developing a 3-tier inter-universities data warehouse prototype for the Egyptian universities. The implementation scope is restricted to the student enrollment process. The bottom-up approach and the multi-tier (3-tier) client/server architecture were used to implement the proposed prototype. The implementation required a number of steps to be undertaken. First, a star schema data warehouse was built based on an operational database of a public university. Second, another star schema data warehouse was built based on an operational database of a private university. Third, data from the two warehouses were abstracted to formulate the inter-universities data warehouse (tier 3). Hence, a data cube based on the resulting interuniversities data warehouse was developed using an OLAP server (tier 2). The data cube is then accessed by a client tool (tier 1) for the purpose of query and analysis. Although two universities were used to implement the interuniversities data warehouse, this scenario could be applied with any number of universities in a quite similar way. This inter-universities prototype is scalable and flexible to retain more than two universities regardless of the size of the operational databases. The interuniversities prototype fosters the coordination between participating universities and supports the decision making process. The proposed system could be used to generate a variety of strategic reports

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Heat Shock protein 60 (HSP60), a mitochondrial chaperone, is overexpressed in diverse malignant cells. Chromatin Assembly Factor-1 (CAF-1), a histone chaperone, is down-regulated in quiescent non-proliferating human cells. We aimed to clarify the role of HSP60 and CAF-1 mRNA expression in diagnosis of HCC post-HCV infection. Methods: HSP60 and CAF-1 mRNA levels in urine and blood were quantified by Taqman real-time PCR in 49 subjects; 25 cirrhotic with HCV-related HCC, 12 cirrhotic without HCC and 12 healthy controls. Results: HSP60 and CAF-1 mRNA levels in urine and blood were significantly higher in HCC versus cirrhosis and controls, and in cirrhosis versus controls. Their levels in HCC were significantly increased by advancement of HCC BCLC staging system. HSP60 in urine had 85% sensitivity and 66% specificity at cut off 258354 RU and 85% sensitivity and 60 % specificity at cut off 37576 RU in blood for HCC diagnosis. CAF-1 in urine had 81% sensitivity and 66% specificity at cut off 137756 RU and 77% sensitivity and 64% specificity at cut off 49726 RU in blood for HCC diagnosis. HSP60/CAF-1 sensitivity and specificity in urine and blood were better than either marker alone, with better results in urine (91% and 73%, respectively) than blood (88% and 66%, respectively). Conclusions: HSP60 and CAF-1 in urine and blood may be useful HCC diagnostic markers that were correlated with advancement of HCC with better combined marker sensitivity and specificity than either marker alone especially for urine

The topic of fractional calculus (integration and differentiation of fractional-order), which concerns singular integral and integro-differential operators, is enjoying interest among mathematicians, physicists and engineers. In this work, we investigate initial value problem of fractional-order differential equation with nonlocal condition. The stability (and some other properties concerning the existence and uniqueness) of the solution will be proved
