    Development and Algorithmization of a Method for Analyzing the Degree of Uniqueness of Personal Medical Data

    The purpose of this investigation is to develop a method for quantitative assessment of the uniqueness of personal medical data (PMD) to improve their protection in medical information systems (MIS). The relevance of the goal is due to the fact that impersonal PMD can form unique combinations that are potentially of interest to intruders and threaten to reveal the patient's identity and medical confidentiality. Existing approaches were analyzed, and a new method for quantifying the degree of uniqueness of PMD was proposed. A weakness in existing approaches is the assumption that an attacker will use exact matching to identify people. The novelty of the method proposed in this paper lies in the fact that it is not limited to this hypothesis, although it has its limitations: it is not applicable to small samples. The developed method for determining the PMD uniqueness coefficient is based on the assumption of a multidimensional distribution of features, characterized by a covariance matrix, and a normal distribution, which provides the most reliable reflection of the existing relationships between features when analyzing large data samples.     Scalability challenges in healthcare blockchain system - a systematic review

    Blockchain technology is a private, secure, trustworthy, and transparent information exchange performed in a decentralised manner. In this case, the coordination and validation efforts are simplified as the records are designed to update regularly and there is no difference in the two databases. This review focuses on how the blockchain addresses scalability challenges and provides solutions in the healthcare field through the implementation of blockchain technology. Accordingly, 16 solutions fell under two main areas, namely storage optimization and redesign of blockchain. However, limitations persist, including block size, high volume of data, transactions, number of nodes, and protocol challenges. This review consists of six stages, namely identification of research question, procedures of research, screening of relevant articles, keywording based on the abstract, data extraction, and mapping process. Through Atlas.ti software, the selected keywords were used to analyse through the relevant articles. As a result, 48 codes and 403 quotations were compiled. Manual coding was performed to categorise the quotations. The codes were then mapped onto the network as a mapping process. Notably, 16 solutions fell under two main areas, namely storage optimization and redesign of blockchain.     Antimicrobial activity of Cosmos caudatus extract against foodborne pathogens

    The antimicrobial activity of Cosmos caudatus extract was evaluated against Bacillus cereus(ATCC 33019), Bacillus subtilis(ATCC 6633), Proteus mirabilis (ATCC 21100), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 9027) and Candida albicans (ATCC 10231) using the methods as recommended by the Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI). The antimicrobial tests were conducted in term of susceptibility, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal/fungicidal concentration (MBC/MFC) and killing-time curve. The results showed that C. caudatus extract was susceptible against all tested pathogens; the inhibition zone ranged from 8.60 mm to 9.83 mm. The MIC and MBC/MFC values were ranged from 6.25 mg/ml-12.50 mg/ml and 12.50 mg/ml-50.00 mg/ml, respectively. Mean while, killing-time curves showed that C. caudatus extract can killed the B. cereus, B. subtilis, P. mirabilis, P. aeruginosa and C. albicans at concentration of 8 MIC for 2 h, 4 MIC for 2 h or 2 MIC for 2 h, 8 MIC for 4 h, 4 MIC for 0.5 h and 4 MIC for 1 h, as respectively. Findings indicated that C. caudatus extract has the potentiality to develop as a natural antimicrobial agent

The eye–mind relationship can help to use eye motions activity measurements expressing to some degree about human behavior.     Preliminary Survey on the Crucial Root Causes of Material Waste Generation in Malaysian Construction Industry

    Construction waste generation has been perceived as a crucial issue that has critical consequences on the project effectiveness and ecological effect of the construction industry. The key objective of the current research is to identify the root causes of material construction waste generation in Malaysia. A well-structured questionnaire was designed based on the 52 identified root causes of material waste generation. The developed questionnaire was distributed to 35 highly experienced in Malaysian construction industry experts. The collected data was analyzed by the use of mean score analysis. The top identified root causes are poor supervision during the construction stage, lack of efficient site management, last minute changes, cutting uneconomical sizes of materials, and constant design changes during the construction period. The initial findings will aid construction practitioners to focus on these root causes in order to reduce the material construction waste generation at construction sites

    Particle Image Velocimetry and Finite Volume Method Study of Bi-leaflet Artificial Heart Valve

    The key feature of the bi-leaflet valve is the geometry of the two leaflets, which can be crucial in determining the flow field. In this paper, observations were made on the flow pattern of the blood through the use of bi-leaflet type mechanical prosthetic valve (MHV). Finite volume method (FVM) analysis was conducted using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) method that solved on a dynamic mesh. In terms of the validation, particle image velocimetry (PIV) was used to verify the findings obtained from FVM analysis. The results of velocity and vorticity were the main parameters to be compared. Based on the findings, the results computed for the leaflets motion and the flow field using FVM was found to be in agreement with PIV experimental data. The pressure obtained for the simulation is in the range of 10,666 – 16,000 Pa, which is an ideal and healthy blood pressure level of human. The vorticity was observed to be formed behind the valve with DVI value of 1.275 (simulation) and 1.457 (experiment), lower than the expected range for a normal DVI in mitral valve. The maximum shear stress achieved (22.5481 Pa) is in the range of platelets activation, which could lead to thrombus formation. The maximum Von Mises stress was found to be at the hinge region of the bi-leaflet valve. These results will serve as a basis for valve design to improve the hemodynamic properties of the heart valve

    Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum Antibodies in Dogs and Cats from Egypt and Risk Factor Analysis.

    BACKGROUND Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum are major protozoan parasites of worldwide distribution and significance in veterinary medicine and, for T. gondii, in public health. Cats and dogs, as final hosts for T. gondii and N. caninum, respectively, have a key function in environmental contamination with oocysts and, thus, in parasite transmission. Very little is known about the prevalence of T. gondii infections in dogs and cats in Egypt, and even less about the prevalence of N. caninum in the same hosts. METHODS In the current study, 223 serum samples of both dogs (n = 172) and cats (n = 51) were investigated for specific antibodies to T. gondii and N. caninum using commercially available ELISAs. A risk factor analysis was conducted to identify factors associated with seropositivity. RESULTS & DISCUSSION Exposure to T. gondii was reported in 23.3% of the dogs and in 9.8% of the cats, respectively. In addition, N. caninum-specific antibodies were recorded in 5.8% of dogs and in 3.4% of cats. A mixed infection was found in two dogs (1.2%) and in one cat (2%). Antibodies to T. gondii in dogs were significantly more frequent in dogs aged 3 years or more and in male German Shepherds. As this breed is often used as watchdogs and was the most sampled breed in Alexandria governorate, the purpose "watchdog" (compared to "stray" or "companion"), the male sex, and the governorate "Alexandria" also had a significantly higher seroprevalence for T. gondii. No factors associated with antibodies to N. caninum could be identified in dogs, and no significant factors were determined in cats for either T. gondii or N. caninum infection. Our study substantially adds to the knowledge of T. gondii infection in dogs and cats and presents data on N. caninum infection in cats for the first and in dogs in Egypt for the second time

    Effects of Aspect Ratio in Moulded Packaging Considering Fluid/Structure Interaction: A CFD Modelling Approach

    The fluid/structure interaction (FSI) investigations of stacked chip in encapsulation process of moulded underfill packaging using the two-way Coupling method with ANSYS Fluent and ANSYS Structural solvers are presented. The FSI study is executed with different aspect ratio of stacked chip on the mould filling during the encapsulation process. The simulation results in the FSI study is well validated with experimental setup. The epoxy moulding compound (EMC) and structure (chip) interaction is analyzed for better understanding the FSI phenomenon.Von Mises stresses experienced by the chip also be monitored for risk of chip cracking. The proposed analysis is anticipated to be a recommendation in the chip design and improvement of 3D integration packages
