    ABSTRACT. The activity of this community service aimed to introduce the principles and practice of using morea plus for increase the productivity of Bali cattle. The community service was carried out at Balai Banjar Tiingan Tengah, Bebandem, Karangasem on 2 Septembre 2007. The method used in this activity were discussion and demontration base on using morea plus for productivity increase of Bali cattle. It can be concluded that the response of the farmers to this activity was very high. All of the 30 members of the Gerembeng group of farmers who have been invited were come to the conducted meeting. The response of the farmers during demontration as well as during discussion was also high enough which indicated by the member and the quality of the questions from the farmers during the times being. </em

    Pengaruh Me/cp Ratio Ransum Terhadap Performans Babi Bali

    Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai imbangan energi-protein ransum (ME/CP ratio, ME (kkal/kg) danCP(%) pada babi Bali. Tingkat imbangan sebagai perlakuan adalah ME/CP ratio: 2805kkal/16,08% (perlakuanA); 2955kkal/17,96% (perlakuan B); 3120kkal/19,84% (perlakuan C) dan 3242kkal/22,28% (perlakuan D) yangdiberikan kepada babi Bali jantan lepas sapih dengan berat badan awal 9,5 – 12 kg selama 8 minggu. Penelitiandirancang dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan sehingga anak babibali jantan yang diperlukan sebanyak 12 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa babi-babi yang mendapatperlakuan B (ME/CP ratio = 2955kkal/17,96%) memiliki BB akhir, PBB dan konsumsi ransum paling tinggidibandingkan yang mendapat perlakuan A, C dan D (P&lt;05), sedangkan nilai FCR yang paling rendah terdapatpada babi-babi yang mendapat perlakuan A (ME/CP = 2805 kkal/16,08 %) dibandingkan dengan yang mendapatperlakuan B, C dan D (P&lt;0,05). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa babi-babi yang mendapat imbanganME/CP ratio : 2805kkal/16,08% menggunakan pakan paling efisien, memberikan pertambahan bobot tertinggipada imbangan ME/CP 2955kkal/17,96%

    ABSTRACT This Community service was conducted in a Livestock Group “Pada Jaya”, one of the Livestock Groups located at Dalung Village. Their members are people of Banjar Tegal Jaya, Dalung Village, Kuta Utara Sub District, Badung Regency. They are mostly farmers who are still having productive farm lands with very limited extensions. Nowadays, along with the care for their cattles, they usually give their cattle green woof from natural grasses. Sometimes, they also give rice straws from their waste of rice harvest which is plentiful enough along the year. They, however only do it only if they are in difficulties of getting enough fresh natural greens. Due to this condition, therefore socialization and demonstration for rice straw process with bio-fermentation technology were held. Bio-cas is a probiotik which helps to raise digestion for the livestocks. The substances derive from the cattle’s rumen liquid consisting of bacteria from genus Ruminococcus, Bacteroides, Lactobacillus and Streptococus with the other fermentative fungi genus in a media of sugar solution to fermente the organic complex into a simple organic. With this Community Service Program, the expected result is: The members of the group or breeders have knowledge and comprehension that rice straw could be used as source of livestock woof which could be stored within 3 to 4 months with a bio-cas fermentation method. From this Program, the members of the breeder group have got appropriate knowledge in utilizing rice straw. And moreover, through the use of the fermented rice straw, the members of the group would not be in difficulties to obtain green woof source for their cattles. </em

    BEBERAPA RESPON FISIOLOGIS KERBAU PACUAN YANG MENDAPAT LAMA WAKTU LATIHAN BERBEDA

    ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai beberapa respon fisiologis kerbau pacuan yang mendapat lama waktu latihan berbeda di Desa Candikusuma, Kabupaten Jembrana (Bali). Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola Slit Plot 3 X 4. Tiga tingkat massa tubuh sebagai petak utama (B1 = 309,44 ± 4,29 kg; B2 = 350,94 ± 6,21 kg; B3 = 393,94 ± 8,07 kg) dan 4 tingkat lama waktu latihan sebagai anak petak (L0 : tidak dilatih; L1 : dilatih selama 5 menit/hari; L2 : dilatih selama 10 menit/hari; L3 : dilatih selama 15 menit/hari). Meningkatnya lama waktu latihan menyebabkan meningkatnya suhu kulit dan suhu rektal masing-masing dari 35,58o sampai 40,41o C dan dari 38,13o sampai 40,73o C, serta meningkatnya denyut nadi dan frekuensi nafas masing-masing dari 32 sampai 82 detak/menit dan dari 22 sampai 46 kali/menit. Terjadi peningkatan kebugaran pada kerbau yang dilatih selama 10 – 15 menit/hari yang ditunjukkan oleh suhu kulit, suhu rektal, denyut jantung, dan frekuensi nafas pada 30 menit pemulihan sesudah uji pacuan. PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE IN RACING BUFFALO SUBJECTED TO DIFFERENT LENGTH OF EXERCISE ABSTRACT A research which was aimed at identifying physiological response has been carried out in racing buffalo subjected to different length of exercise in the village of Candikusuma, Jembrana regency (Bali). Randomized Completely Block Design which was arange in 3 X 4 Split Plot was applied in this research. There were three mainplots in which each plot had one group of the animals that categorized on the based of their average liveweight (± SD) i.e. group of B1 (309,44 ± 4,29 kg), B2 (350,94 ± 6,21 kg) and B3 (393,94 ± 8,07 kg), and four levels of exercise length used as subplot. The levels of exercise were the buffalo which were not subjected exercise (LO), those subjected exercise for 5 (L1), 10 (L2) and 15 minutes/day (L3). The increased of length of exercise were done resulted the increased body temperature and rectal temperature each from 35.58o to 40.41oC and from 38.13o to 40.73oC, also pulse increased and breath frequency each from 32 to 82 breats per minute and from 22 to 46 times per minute.     Roboswab: A Covid-19 Thermal Imaging Detector Based on Oral and Facial Temperatures

    The SARS-CoV-2 virus has been the precursor of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The symptoms of COVID-19 begin with the common cold and then become very severe, such as those of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Currently, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is used to detect COVID-19 accurately, but it causes some side effects to the patient when the test is performed. Therefore, the proposed "Roboswab" was developed that uses thermal imaging to measure non-contact facial and oral temperature. This study focuses on the performance of the proposed equipment in measuring facial and oral temperature from various distances. Face detection also involves checking whether the subject is wearing a mask or not. Image processing methods with thermal imaging and robotic manipulators are integrated into a contact-free detector that is inexpensive, accurate, and painless. This research has successfully detected masked or non-masked faces and accurately detected facial temperature. The results showed that the accurate measurement of facial temperature with a mask is 90% with an error of +/- 0.05%, while it was 100% without a mask. On the other hand, the oral temperature was measured with 97% accuracy and an error of less than 5%. The optimal distance of the Roboswab to the face for measuring temperature is an average of 60 cm. The Roboswab tool equipped with masked or non-masked face detection can be used for early detection of COVID-19 without direct contact with patients
