Otto Lara Rezende is a writer native of the state of Minas Gerais, born in 1922. His training as a writer receives multiple influences. In it, we find echoes of Machado de Assis  work, levels of dialogue with Dostoieviski, some influence from the Catholic Existentialism, via French, via Brazilian. In his literary universe, the child remains present. His infantile characters, however, never turns up as idealized ones: They make the game between being and having the appearance of; they receive evil and are able to perform it. In fact, they exist in an atmosphere of intense psychopathology.Otto Lara Resende é escritor mineiro, nascido em 1922. Sua formação de escritor recebe várias influências. Nela, encontramos ecos machadianos, níveis de diálogo com Dostoieviski, certa influência do Existencialismo católico, via franceses e via brasileiros. O Neorrealismo em Portugal: escritores, história e estética.

In Portugal, neorealism is inaugurated in 1939, rises as opposed to the presentist literature and is concerned with the social realm. It sees society as an area of dissidence  and class struggle. In their writings, its authors side with the poor, the destitute. In the Portuguese scene, neorealists form the opposition to Antônio de Oliveira Salazar’s New State. The movement officially comes to an end in 1974, the same year as that of the Carnation Revolution, which represents an intense yearning of the neorealist literature: the democracy’s return.Em Portugal, o Neorrealismo inaugura-se em 1939 e surge como oposição à literatura presencista. Preocupa-se, por isto, com o social. Vê a sociedade como o espaço da dissidência e da luta de classe. Em seus escritos, os autores do movimento tomam o partido dos mais pobres, dos destituídos. Na cena portuguesa, os neorrealistas tornam-se ainda oposição ao Estado Novo, de Antônio de Oliveira Salazar. Oficialmente, o movimento encerra-se em 1974. Images of the childhood and of the adolescence in Otto Lara Resende

O presente ensaio trata de um resgate do tema \"imagens da infância e da adolescência em Otto Lara Resende\". Para tanto, no cinqüentenário de seu lançamento, destacamos Boca do inferno, segundo livro da obra do autor mineiro. Composto de sete contos, ele o livro - torna-se nosso substrato para a apreensão da vida de um grupo de crianças e adolescentes marcados pela dor. Nas imagens que se oferecem, intimismo, introspecção, recôndito definem um estilo. No trato da mesma infância, o pacto romântico se quebra. Crianças e adolescentes recebem o mal e estão aptos (alguns deles) a praticá-lo e de modo competente. No menos explícito das cenas, a estrutura familiar em suas falhas se evidencia. O masculino que brutaliza também recebe especial atenção. A voz solidária aos que sofrem oculta-se na ação do narrador.This essay rescues the theme \"Images of the Childhood and of the Adolescence in Otto Lara Resende\". In order to do that, when we celebrate fifty years after it was published, we draw the attention to Boca do Inferno (Hell\'s mouth), second book of the work of the author from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Made up of seven short stories, it becomes our basis for the understanding of the life of a group of children and adolescents tainted by pain. In the images that are offered, intimism, instrospection, recondite define a style. In the way the author creates the circumstances of the same childhood, the romantic pact is broken. Children and adolescents receive the evil and are apt (some of them) to practice it in a very competent way. The evidence of the failure of the family structure is implicit in the scenes. The masculine that brutalizes also receives special attention. The voice that is sympathetic to those who suffer is in between the lines of the narrator
