REGISTROS SOBRESALIENTES DE MAMÍFEROS DEL ESTADO DE GUERRERO, MÉXICO

Information on geographic distribution, habitat, measurements, and reproductive condition of five species of mammals from Guerrero, Mexico, is provided. Two species are new records for the State (Nyctinomops femorosaccus and Sigmodon leucotis), one is the second record (Spermophilus variegatus variegatus), one is the third record (Nyctinomops macrotis), and one is the fourth record (Herpailurus yagouaroundi tolteca)

REGISTROS DE MURCIÉLAGOS PARA EL ESTADO DE GUERRERO, MÉXICO

Information on geographic distribution, habitat, measurements, and reproductive condition of nine species of bats from Guerrero, Mexico, is provided. Four species are the second records for the State (Choeroniscus godmani, Myotis auriculus apache, Myotis thysanodes aztecus and Nyctinomops femorosaccus), three are the third record (Musonycteris harrisoni, Chiroderma salvini scopaeum and Enchisthenes hartii), and two are the fourth record (Hylonycteris underwoodi minor and Myotis californicus mexicanus)Se aporta información sobre la distribución, hábitat, medidas y condición reproductiva de nueve especies de murciélagos del estado de Guerrero, México. Estructura de la vegetación y su relación con la diversidad de murciélagos en Carrizal de Bravo, Guerrero

Las características estructurales de la vegetación son importantes en el paisaje del bosque y primordiales para determinar los tipos de vegetación y la riqueza florística, además sirven para conocer y determinar el estado de conservación del bosque (Rzedowski, 1978; González- Medrano, 2003). Estas características estructurales del bosque influyen de manera directa en la distribución de plantas y animales (DeWalt et al., 2003), así como en los aspectos biológicos y ecológicos de sus poblaciones. Registros recientes de la Martucha (Potos flavus, Carnivora: Procyonidae) en el estado de Guerrero, México, con comentarios de su ocurrencia y amenazas

The martucha (Potos flavus) is a threatened species in Mexico and it has been recorded previously in the state of Guerrero. Its distribution in the state of Guerrero was compiled and expanded. Occurrences of P. flavus in electronic repositories such as EncicloVida, Naturalista, and GBIF, as well as in scientific literature for the state of Guerrero were searched including new direct and indirect observations (skin, bone remains, and run over or hunted individuals). We found a total of 41 records of P. flavus. Of these 34 % correspond to literature and electronic repositories, and 66 % to fieldwork carried out in the last 16 years. It is important to continue scientific explorations directed to those areas that have been little explored, as well as the study of the main threats and the current conservation status of the wild populations of P. flavus. it is necessary to conduct informative talks that help understand the importance and the services provided by this species to the ecosystems.La martucha (Potos flavus) es una especie amenazada en México y ha sido registrada previamente en el estado de Guerrero. Recopilamos y ampliamos su distribución en el estado de Guerrero. Se realizó una búsqueda de ocurrencias de la especie en los repositorios electrónicos EncicloVida, Naturalista y GBIF, así como en la literatura científica publicada para el estado, que incluyó observaciones directas e indirectas (piel, restos óseos, e individuos atropellados o cazados). Se recopilaron 41 registros de P. flavus, de los cuales el 34 % fueron ocurrencias de la literatura y los repositorios electrónicos, y el 66 % de muestreos de campo en los últimos 16 años. Se resalta la importancia de seguir realizando exploraciones científicas dirigidas a aquellas áreas poco exploradas, así como la necesidad de describir principales amenazas y el estado de conservación de las poblaciones de P. flavus. Se sugiere la realización de pláticas divulgativas que ayuden a entender la importancia y los servicios que brinda esta especie a los ecosistemas

Registros adicionales de felinos del estado de Guerrero, México Additional records of cats in the state of Guerrero, Mexico

Se amplía la información sobre distribución, hábitat y medidas somáticas y craneales de las 6 especies de felinos que se distribuyen en nuestro país y que se encuentran en Guerrero. La presencia de estas especies se obtuvo a través de métodos directos y registros indirectos. Lynx rufus está representado por la piel y el cráneo de un joven y es el segundo registro para el estado; mientras que Puma concolor, Puma yagouaroundi, Leopardus pardalis, Leopardus wiedii y Panthera onca incrementan su área de distribución en el estado. Las principales amenazas para estos felinos son la fragmentación del hábitat y la cacería furtiva.Information on distribution, habitat and measurements of the 6 species of cats found in Mexico and in Guerrero is provided.
