Numerical Investigation of Heat and Mass Transfer Processes while the Desorption of Hydrogen Gas Stored in MmNi4.6Fe0.4-H6

This work presents a numerical investigation of two-dimensional coupled heat and mass transfer processes in a unit disc of an annulus-disc reactor filled with the intermetallic (Mischmetal) compound MmNi4.6Fe0.4, during the hydrogen gas desorption using the finite volume method. Temperature and amount of desorbed hydrogen and their time-averaged quantities inside the metal hydride bed are presented for different heat transfer fluid temperatures, and different metal thermal conductivities. Impacts of both effects on the metal hydride reactor performance in terms of discharging time are examined by means of a set of numerical simulations. Thus, the dehydriding time minimization relates to the adjustment of the amount of heat addition to the packed bed reactor. A good agreement was found between the present computational results and the experimental data reported in the literature

Pleomorphic adenoma of the soft palate: major tumor in a minor gland

Salivary gland tumors are a relatively rare and morphologically diverse group of lesions. Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign tumor of the salivary gland that consists of a combination of epithelial and mesenchymal elements. The tumor most commonly arises from the parotid (60-70%) or submandibular glands. It develops less frequently in a minor salivary gland, presenting as an intraoral mass depend on the soft palate. We describe a case of benign pleomorphic adenoma of soft palate in a 45 year old female with computed tomography and histopathological findings. Sodium silver tricobalt bis(diphosphate) and sodium silver copper(II) diphosphate

The crystal structures of two new diphosphates, sodium silver tricobalt bis(diphosphate), (Na1.42Ag0.58)Co3(P2O7)2, and sodium silver copper(II) diphosphate, (Na1.12Ag0.88)CuP2O7, provide examples of the effect of mixing Na and Ag in the same site of known host phosphate compounds. The small differences in ionic radii of the two monocations do not lead to significant differences in the structural details. Dieuropium(III) silicodimonophosphatediphosphate

A new europium(III) silicophosphate, whose formula may be considered to be Eu2Si(PO4)2(P2O7), has been found to consist of phosphosilicate chains with Si-O-P-O-P-O-Si backbones extending in the a direction. The P2O7 group and the Si atom both lie on crystallographic twofold axes. Tetrahedral silicon is further bound to two monophosphate groups. Expérience oto-rhino-laryngologique de l’hôpital marocain de campagne en Guinée Conakry

Il s’agit d’une étude prospective et descriptive portant sur les patients admis en consultation d’oto-rhino-laryngologie, au sein de l’hôpital marocain médico-chirurgical de campagne, déployé en Guinée Conakry,  du 24 février au 24 mai 2014. Les critères d’inclusion étaient l’âge, le sexe, le type et la localisation de l’affection. L’objectif de notre étude est d’établir un regroupement diagnostique et topographique des  principales affections otorhinolaryngologiques rencontrées en Guinée Conakry. Ont été examinés 1877  patients, soit une incidence de 8,14% si l’on rapporte au nombre total de la consultation pluridisciplinaire. La série comprenait 56,04% de femmes (n =1052) et 43,96% d’hommes (n = 825). L’âge de nos patients variait de 9 mois à 73 ans avec une moyenne de 33 ans, la tranche d’âge la plus touchée était celle de 20  ans à 29 ans et 53,54% des patients avaient un âge compris entre 20 ans et 39 ans. Au plan diagnostique, la pathologie  infectieuse était la plus fréquente (54,51%), suivie de la pathologie ototologique non  infectieuse et non tumorale entrainant surdité ou acouphènes (18,96%), de la pathologie inflammatoire  rhinosinusienne et pharyngée (18,01%), de la pathologie tumorale (6,34%), des corps étrangers de la sphère ORL (0,69%), des  chéloïdes (0,43%) et de la pathologie malformative (0,37%). Au plan topographique, les affections rhino-sinusiennes étaient les plus fréquentes (37,93%), suivies des affections otologiques (33,46%), des affections oro-pharyngées et laryngées (21,20%) et des affections cervicales (6,34%).Key words: Affections ORL, regroupement diagnostique, regroupement topographiqu

Lambeau musculocutané infra hyoidien à palette cutané horizontale pour un angiomyxome agressif de la face interne de la joue

Décrit par Wang en 1986, le lambeau musculocutané infra hyoidien est vascularisé par l'artère  thyroïdienne supérieure et comporte les muscles sternohyoïdien, sternothyroïdien et le chef supérieur du muscle Omo hyoïdien. Le prélèvement horizontal de la palette cutanée ne modifie pas la fiabilité du lambeau et permet d'éviter des cicatrices supplémentaires. L'angiomyxome agressif est une tumeur mésenchymateuse  développée aux dépens du tissu conjonctif avec un site de prédilection pour les parties molles du périné  féminin. Cette tumeur croit progressivement mais n'est pas métastatique. Le traitement indiqué  actuellement est l'exérèse chirurgicale large. La tumeur a une tendance à la récidive locale, qui est fréquente,liée à la difficulté d'une exérèse initiale complète. Nous rapportons le cas d'un angiomyxome agressif de la joue chez un patient de 63 ans, qui a été traité par chirurgie avec reconstruction par un lambeau musculocutané infra hyoidien à palette cutanée horizontale. Magnetohydrodynamics stability of a rotating flow with heat transfer

International audienceWe study the magnetohydrodynamic stability of an axisymmetric rotating flow in a cylindrical enclosure filled with a liquid metal (Pr = 0.015), having an aspect ratio equal to 2, and subjected to a vertical temperature gradient and an axial magnetic field. The finite volume method is used in order to solve the equations of continuity, momentum, energy, and electric potential. Without magnetic field, the critical Reynolds number is a decreasing function of the Richardson number owing to the destabilizing contribution of natural convection. In the presence of a vertical magnetic field, the flow stability is preserved for higher values of the Reynolds number. The stability diagram which is established shows the dependence of the critical Reynolds number with the increase of the Hartmann number, Ha, for various values of the Richardson number. This study confirms the possibility of stabilization of a liquid metal flow in mixed convection by application of an axial magnetic field
