    Over 50 different steroids, including precursors to other steroid hormones, are secreted by the adrenal glands, which are located directly above the kidneys. Aldosterone and hydrocortisone, however, are the two most significant hormonal steroids created by the adrenal cortex. Since aldosterone is too expensive to produce commercially, other semi-synthetic analogues are now used to treat Addison’s disease in its place. Fludrocortisone, for example, greatly increases both salt retention and anti-inflammatory activity when combined with hydrocortisone. The kidneys’ ability to reabsorb sodium is increased by aldosterone. Increased blood volume will follow an increase in plasma sodium concentration. Additionally, aldosterone boosts potassium ion excretion. Addison’s disease is brought on by inconsistency. Glycogen storage synthesis is induced by the synthesis of glycogen synthase, and gluconeogenesis (the production of glucose from glucose) is induced in the liver

    VITAMIN A, RETINOIC ACID AND TAMIBAROTENE, A FRONT TOWARD ITS ADVANCES: A REVIEW

    Vitamin A and its derivative retinoic acid (13-cis RA, 9-cis RA, all-trans RA) and recent tamibarotene have been shown a broad variety of biological actives in human, such as vision, embryonic development, cell growth and cellular differentiation and immune function. These precise functions of RA are mediated by their retinoic acid receptors (RARs). In the past five decades, retinoic acid (RA) proved therapeutic benefits in cancer prevention, in skin diseases and in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).The elucidation of the molecular basis of vitamin A acid and its retinoid pharmacology in APL has been illustrated in several publications, the detail molecular model of gene regulation had also been proposed by Zhu in earlier 90s. A molecular model is further revised. As an approach to APL treatment, one possible the action of retinoic acid (RA), A consensus sequence (TCAGGTCA motif ) has been postulated for thyroid hormone (TRE) and retinoic acid responsive element (RARE)-containing in the promoter region of target genes. High dose of RA-RARE-PML/RARa complexes in intracellular localization appears to relieve repressors from DNA-bound receptor, including the dissociation of co-re pressor complexes N-CoR, SMRT and HDACs from PML-RARa or PML-RARa/RXR. Also release PML/RARa -mediated transcription repression. This transcriptional derepression occurs at RARa target gene promoter. Consequentially, PML-RARa chimera converted receptor from a repressor to a RA-dependent activator of transcription. The resulting pml-RARA oncoprotein proteolytic degradation occurs through the autophagy-lysosome pathway and the ubiquitin SUMO-proteasome system(UPS) as well as caspase 3, or lysosomal protease (cathepsin D) enzyme or/and EI-like ubiquitin-activating enzyme(UBEIL) induction. Accordingly the expression level of PML-RARa downregulated. PML protein relocalizes into the wild-type nuclear body (PML-NB) configuration or a truncated PML-RARa fusion fragment detected or/and the wild-type RAR upregulated. An effect is to relieve the blockade of pml/RARa-mediated RA dependent promyelocytic differentiation, and retinoic acid (9-cis RA,ATRA, Am80) in APL therapy. Here, oncogenic pml/RARa as constitutive transcriptional repressor that block myeloid differentiation at promyelocytic phenotype. RA can overcome the transcrptional repressor activity of pml/RARa. The oncogenic pml/RARa uncovers a pathogenic role in leukemogenesis of APL through blocking promyelocytic differentiation. This oncogenic receptor derivative pml/ RARa chimera is locked in their "off" regular mode thereby constitutively repressing transcription of target genes or key enzymes (such as AP-1, PTEN, DAPK2,UP.1, p21WAF/CCKN1Athat are critical for differentiation of hematopoietic cells.     PHARMACOSOMES: AN UPDATED REVIEW

    Different lipid based vesicular systems have been developed as controlled and targeted drug delivery systems. Pharmacosomes are novel vesicular drug delivery systems. They are potential alternative to conventional vesicles. Pharmacosomes are the amphiphilic phospholipids complexes of drugs bearing active hydrogen that bind to phospholipids. Similar to other vesicular systems pharmacosomes provide an efficient method for delivery of drug directly to the site of infection, leading to reduction of drug toxicity with no adverse effects. They also reduces the cost of therapy by improving bioavailability of medication, especially in the case of poorly soluble drugs. This approach as a drug delivery system certainly promises a reliable, safe, selective and precise method of drug delivery.  They help in controlled release of drug at the site of action as well as in reduction in cost of therapy, drug leakage and toxicity, increased bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs, and restorative effects. They are mainly prepared by hand-shaking and ether injection method. The Pharmacosomes have evaluated for different parameters such as size, surface morphology and in vitro release rate. This article reviews the potential of pharmacosomes as a controlled and targeted drug delivery systems and highlights the methods of preparation and characterization.     Investigating the Feasibility of a CMOS Camera in Developing a Shortwave Near Infrared Spectroscopy

    Near infrared (NIR) sensing technology has been widely implemented in various areas replace conventional wet chemistry analysis due to its non-invasive, green and rapid measurement features. A combination of NIR LEDs and photodiodes shows the possibility to reduce the financial barrier to carry out NIR research. However, there is a challenge to detect and remove unwanted signals. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the feasibility of a CMOS camera in developing a shortwave near infrared spectroscopy. Firstly, a slit, a NIR grating, and a CMOS camera were positioned and shielded in a black aluminum chassis. A total of six different parameters of the camera were investigated in this study, i.e. the exposure level, gain, white balance, brightness, sharpness, and saturation. Findings suggest that the CMOS camera with the optimal values of the exposure level and the gain could produce a good quality of NIR spectrum

    At present scenario many researchers are working to develop technology that promises to deliver the drug in more efficient and less painful way in order to produce the therapeutic effects. Needle-free injection systems are novel ways to introduce various medicines into patients without piercing the skin with a conventional needle. Needle free injection gives very effective injections for a wide range of drugs.  Needle free systems are designed to avoid the problems associated with conventional needles making them safer, less expensive, and more suitable. Additional benefits include very fast injection compared with conventional needles and no needle disposal issues. This review intends to throw light on the basic mechanisms by which this technology works, different types of technologies available at present and its applications.     COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE EFFICACY OF STEM CELLS IN CORNEAL REGENERATION IN A CHEMICAL BURN IN RABBITS

    Objectives: This study compares the efficacy of stem cell transplantation in corneal regeneration and restoration of the limbic deficit in an experimental chemical burn in rabbits. Methods: Biopsy was performed of the limbus and the chemical burns for all rabbits, and we collected the amniotic membranes from a pregnant female rabbit. We kept a control group without transplantation, to study spontaneous and natural healing, and we transplanted the stem cells produced in vitro under the corneal epithelium burned. To compare the result, we tested a group for amniotic stem cell transplantation, a group for limbal stem cell graft, and another group for combined transplantation of both types of stem cells. Results: Transplanted rabbits develop permanent unilateral blindness due to a severe limbic deficit. The group receiving only amniotic stem cells shows temporary anatomical improvement without functional recovery. The two groups receiving limbal stem cells alone or combined with amniotic stem cells showed anatomical and functional satisfaction with quick recovery time for the combined transplantation. Conclusions: A simple chemical burn can establish permanent blindness. When the limbic deficit is important, spontaneous healing is not available. Transplantation of stem cell transplant is the only way to repair this deficit and regenerate the cornea. Only limbic stem cells can be sufficient.
