Cannabis sativa, popularly known as "marijuana", is a plant that has high solubility, absorption, distribution and metabolization in the body. Its main chemical component is the psychoactive substance delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, which has receptors with wide anatomical distribution, mainly in the central, peripheral nervous system and cells of the immune system, influencing the action of different neurotransmitters and immunomodulatory responses. Its effects depend on the amount of substance ingested and the clinical signs mainly affect the neurological, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular systems. The objective of this work is to report the case of a canine, female, mixed breed, two months old, followed up at a veterinary clinic in Fortaleza / CE. The animal had a history of marijuana ingestion, and clinical signs such as ataxia, hyperesthesia and disorientation, thus making the presumptive diagnosis based on anamnesis, physical and laboratory examination. A symptomatic treatment based on fluid therapy, furosemide and L-Ornithine aspartate was adopted. The animal was hospitalized for 24 hours, presented a good response to treatment without secondary complications with reduced clinical signs, and after that he was discharged.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) are retroviruses of clinical importance for cats due to their immunosuppressive effects and with a prevalence of 12.32% for FIV and 5.8% for FeLV in the city of Fortaleza. Since there is only one study evaluating the seroprevalence of the pathologies in question in the region, the objective of the present study was to evaluate these data in felines treated at the Sylvio Barbosa Cardoso Veterinary Hospital (HVSBC) located at the State University of Ceará (UECE) in the city of Fortaleza, from March to December 2021, 75 screening tests were performed by immunochromatographic assays. Parameters such as gender, age, domicile status and clinical manifestations were evaluated. The results showed that 16% were positive for FIV, 9% for FeLV and 4% for coinfection (FIV/FeLV). The FIV or FeLV positive animals were mostly male, adult, semi-domiciled and symptomatic cats. The most common clinical manifestation observed in IVF patients was gingivitis. This study showed that 29% of the cats tested were positive and among these 86% were males, more than 50% semi-domiciled, 31% aged between 1 and 2 years old and 81% symptomatic. Epidemiological factors, such as gender, domicile status, age and clinical manifestation, are of paramount importance for the series of retroviruses in Fortaleza. The prevalence of the diseases in question observed in the present study is serious due to the consequences they can cause in affected animals and the potential chance of dissemination.O Vírus da Imunodeficiência Felina (FIV) e o Vírus da Leucemia Felina (FeLV) são retrovírus de importância clínica para os felinos devido seus efeitos imunossupressores e com prevalência de 12,32% para FIV e 5,8% para FeLV na cidade de Fortaleza.

Cutaneous mucinosis is the excessive deposition of mucin in the dermis and hair follicles, being frequent in Shar-Pei dogs due to their skin roughness. This disease can be primary or secondary, the primary being of genetic origin and the secondary acquired. The clinical presentation is variable, with skin thickening, focal, multifocal or diffuse vesicular lesions, among others, and the places most affected by these lesions are the chest and pelvic limbs, the neck and the head of the animal. The definitive diagnosis can be obtained by performing histopathological examination. The present study aimed to report a clinical case of cutaneous mucinosis in a Shar-pei canine with vesicular lesions located on the anterior, posterior, periocular regions and pinna, the lesions contained a colorless and viscous aspect content. The diagnosis of cutaneous mucinosis was established through histopathological examination and the treatment was instituted in two moments, in the first, topical mupirocin and shampoo containing phytosphingosine and fomblin were administered, in the second, topical hydrocortisone aceponate and shampoo containing modified urea and omega-3 were used. The animal had remission of the lesions, and quarterly monitoring was recommended for better control of the disease.
