Cage culture in reservoirs in India (a handbook)

    Get PDF
This document is part of a series of 5 technical manuals produced by the Challenge Program Project CP34 “Improved fisheries productivity and management in tropical reservoirs”. The reservoirs of India have a combined surface area of 3.25 million hectares (ha), mostly in the tropical zone, which makes them the country¡¯s most important inland water resource, with huge untapped potential. The prime objective of cage culture discussed here is to rear fingerlings measuring >100 millimetres (mm) in length, especially carp, for stocking reservoirs. The manual discusses various aspects of cage culture from site selection to its economic benefits. (PDF contains 27 pages

Enhancing fishery productivity in small reservoir in India: technical manual

    Get PDF
This document is part of a series of 5 technical manuals produced by the Challenge Program Project CP34 ôImproved fisheries productivity and management in tropical reservoirsö. Inland capture fisheries in India have declined in recent years, leaving thousands of fishers to sink deeper into poverty. Freshwater aquaculture in small water bodies like ponds now contributes 80% of the countryí»s inland fish production. This manual outlines the use of small reservoir for freshwater aquacultureas a means of providing rural areas with food and livelihoods and protecting aquatic ecosystems, in particular by facilitating the conservation of indigenous fish species.

Boundary Value Problem and its application in I-Function of Multivariable

    Get PDF
In this research paper, we make a model of a boundary value problem and its application in I-function of multivariable. Some particular cases have also been derived at the end of the paper. Keywords: Boundary value problem, I-Function of multivariable, General class of polynomials. Mathematics subject classification: 2011, 33c, secondary 33c50

STUDY OF EXPANSION FOR I-FUNCTION OF MULTIVARIABLE AND ITS APPLICATION

    Get PDF
In the present paper few finite integrals involving product of Jacobi polynomials and multivariable I-function of generalized arguments have been evaluated. These integrals have been utilized to establish the expansion for I  in series involving product of Jacobi polynomials, since multivariable I-function is quite general function in nature. On specializing the parameters of the functions involved in the results, many new as well as known relations may be obtained in application section. Keywords : I-function of multivariable Mathematical subject classification : 2011, 33C5

EXPANSION FOR PRODUCT OF BESSEL’S FUNCTION AND I-FUNCTION OF MULTIVARIABLES

In the research paper we present expansion for product of I-function of multivariables involving Bessel’s function. Keywords : Bessel’s function and multivariable of I-function. Mathematical subject classification : 2011, 33C5

Awareness, perception and practices regarding infant and young child feeding among health care providers in two districts of Madhya Pradesh: a cross-sectional study

    Get PDF
Introduction Infant and young child nutrition needs to be given top priority in order to prevent and minimize malnutrition given the low rates of child feeding practices. The present study was carried out to assess the awareness, perception and practices of health care providers (HCPs) regarding (IYCF) practices in Madhya Pradesh

Improved fisheries productivity and management in tropical reservoirs

    Get PDF
The main objective of this 3.5 year project was to increase the productivity of reservoir fisheries and provide sustainable livelihoods to the rural poor through a series of interventions in tropical reservoirs. The main project activities focused on two reservoirs in the Indo-Gangetic basin (Dahob in Madhya Pradesh, and Pahuj in Uttar Pradesh, both in India), the Lake Nasser in Egypt as part as the Nile basin, and the Volta Lake in Ghana as part as the Volta basin. The project also encompassed an initial data inventory from a wide variety of tropical reservoirs within the three basins, and the detailed assessment of the selected reservoirs, including market evaluation and post-capture improvements.
