    Supersymmetric and Kappa-invariant Coincident D0-Branes

We propose a generic supersymmetric and kappa-invariant action for describing coincident D0-branes with non-abelian matter fields on their worldline. The action is shown to be in agreement with the Matrix Theory limit of the ND0-brane effective action.Comment: JHEP style, 1+8 page

    Intersecting branes and Supersymmetry

We consider intersecting M-brane solutions of supergravity in eleven dimensions. Supersymmetry turns out to be a powerful tool in obtaining such solutions and their generalizations.Comment: 6 pages, Latex, Presented at Supersymmetry and Quantum Field Theory, International Seminar dedicated to the memory of D. Constrained generalized supersymmetries and superparticles with tensorial central charges. A classification

We classify the admissible types of constraint (hermitian, holomorphic, with reality conditions on the bosonic sectors, etc.) for generalized supersymmetries in the presence of complex spinors. We further point out which constrained generalized supersymmetries admit a dual formulation. For both real and complex spinors generalized supersymmetries are constructed and classified as dimensional reductions of supersymmetries from {\em oxidized} space-times (i.e. the maximal space-times associated to nn-component Clifford irreps). We apply these results to sistematically construct a class of models describing superparticles in presence of bosonic tensorial central charges, deriving the consistency conditions for the existence of the action, as well as the constrained equations of motion. Examples of these models (which, in their twistorial formulation, describe towers of higher-spin particles) were first introduced by Rudychev and Sezgin (for real spinors) and later by Bandos and Lukierski (for complex spinors).Comment: 32 pages, LaTe

Negative pion photoproduction off polarized deuteron target

    No full text
It is discussed whether the target asymmetry (TA) for γn→π⁻p can be extracted from data on γd→π⁻pp. An exclusive experiment that enhances production of pions on neutron at rest and suppresses contributions of the recoil mechanism is shown to correspond to this purpose. The relation between the TAs for the reactions on deuteron and neutron is established taking into account pion and active nucleon rescattering in the final state and neglecting effects due to interaction with the spectator nucleon

New Superembeddings for Type II Superstrings

    Get PDF
Possible ways of generalization of the superembedding approach for the supersurfaces with the number of Grassmann directions being less than the half of that for the target superspace are considered on example of Type II superstrings. Focus is on n=(1,1) superworldsheet embedded into D=10 Type II superspace that is of the interest for establishing a relation with the NSR string.Comment: 26 pages, LaTeX, JHEP.cls and JHEP.bst style files are used; v2: misprints corrected, comments, acknowledgments, references adde

Investigation of polarized nucleon interaction (JINR – France – Ukraine International Collaboration)

    No full text
The polarized targets are developed by Russia, France and Ukraine cooperation. We were equipped existing facility with the new holding coils magnet field to rotate the vector polarization as required by MPT project. The new results on spin- dependent total cross section difference DsL(np) were obtained by joint efforts

The theory and direct observation of controlled (suppressed) spontaneous nuclear gamma-decay

    No full text
The theory of controlling and changing the spontaneous nuclear gamma-decay is discussed. The phenomenon of nuclear decay controlling is a result of the interaction of radioactive nuclei with zero-energy electromagnetic modes, which in turn interact with distant controlling and controlled screen. It was shown that the decay parameters greatly depend on the sign and magnitude of the radiation shift (radiation correction) of the resonance level position. In the experiment we have discovered the change (increase) of radiative life-time of excited nucleus Co⁵⁷ (Fe⁵⁷*) (in relation to resonant Mossbauer gamma-channel of decay) by 10-40% and total life-time (including non-controlled non-Mossbauer radiation and non-controlled electron conversion channel of nucleus decay) by 1%

Q7-branes and their coupling to IIB supergravity

    Get PDF
We show how, by making use of a new basis of the IIB supergravity axion-dilaton coset, SL(2,R)/SO(2), 7-branes that belong to different conjugacy classes of the duality group SL(2,R) naturally couple to IIB supergravity with appropriate source terms characterized by an SL(2,R) charge matrix Q. The conjugacy classes are determined by the value of the determinant of Q. The (p,q) 7-branes are the branes in the conjugacy class detQ = 0. The 7-branes in the conjugacy class detQ > 0 are labelled by three numbers (p,q,r) which parameterize the matrix Q and will be called Q7-branes. We construct the full bosonic Wess--Zumino term for the Q7-branes. In order to realize a gauge invariant coupling of the Q7-brane to the gauge fields of IIB supergravity it is necessary to introduce an SL(2,R) doublet of two distinct Born--Infeld fields on the Q7-brane world-volume.Comment: 31 pages, Latex fil

Proton polarization in reaction of deuteron photodisintegration at energies of 0.2-2.4 GeV

    No full text
The review of the proton polarization experimental data on two-body deuteron photodisintegration at a photon energy between 0.2 and 2.4 GeV is presented. The NSC KIPT data are compared with the measurements of other centers and with theoretical calculations and phenomenological analysis in the framework of various interaction models with subnuclear (nucleons, mesons, resonances) and non-nucleon (quarks, gluons) degrees of freedom. The NSC KIPT measurements are in full accord with the data of other centers up to 0.8 GeV and confirm the dominant contribution of meson-exchange interactions and isobar configurations in the reaction γD→pn. Above 1 GeV the NSC KIPT data do not agree with the Jefferson Lab (USA) measurements which confirm the quark-gluon hypotheses about zero values of the proton polarization in this region
