Jet coherence in QCD media: the antenna radiation spectrum

We study the radiation of a highly energetic partonic antenna in a colored state traversing a dense QCD medium. Resumming multiple scatterings of all involved constituents with the medium we derive the general gluon spectrum which encompasses both longitudinal color coherence between scattering centers in the medium, responsible for the well known Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal (LPM) effect, and transverse color coherence between partons inside a jet, leading, in vacuum, to angular ordering of the parton shower. We discuss shortly the onset of transverse decoherence which is reached in opaque media. Uniqueness of Gibbs Measure for Models With Uncountable Set of Spin Values on a Cayley Tree

We consider models with nearest-neighbor interactions and with the set $[0,1]$ of spin values, on a Cayley tree of order $k\geq 1$. It is known that the "splitting Gibbs measures" of the model can be described by solutions of a nonlinear integral equation. For arbitrary $k\geq 2$ we find a sufficient condition under which the integral equation has unique solution, hence under the condition the corresponding model has unique splitting Gibbs measure.Comment: 13 page

GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN DAN MOTIVASI, PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya kepemimpian dan motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai Bank BTPN Cabang Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membagi kuesioner kepada 32 responden pegawai Bank BTPN Cabang Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, berdasarkan uji statistik t, nilai t hitung untuk variabel gaya kepemimpinan 3.233 > t tabel 1,695 dan nilai signifikan 0,002 < 0,05. Sedangkan variabel Motivasi 5,637> t tabel 1,695 dan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawa

Heavy metal levels in Sokoto metropolis as a result of local production of aluminium utensils

Assessment of the levels of heavy metal pollution due to production of local aluminum articles have been carried out. Atomic absorption spectrophotometric method of analysis was used for the determination of Cu, Cd, Cr, Fe, Mn and Pb, while ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) back titration with ZnSO4 was used for Al. Results show that the various concentration obtained follows the order, Al > Cu > Fe> Mn > Ni > Cr > Pd. Although, the concentrations of the metals were found to be generally low and fall below the threshold limit, continued discharge without regulation could cause future problem.Key words: Heavy metal, aluminium utensils, pollution, Sokoto

Quantitative Mass Spectrometry Evaluation of Human Retinol Binding Protein 4 and Related Variants

Background: Retinol Binding Protein 4 (RBP4) is an exciting new biomarker for the determination of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. It is known that circulating RBP4 resides in multiple variants which may provide enhanced clinical utility, but conventional immunoassay methods are blind to such differences. A Mass Spectrometric immunoassay (MSIA) technology that can quantitate total RBP4 as well as individual isoforms may provide an enhanced analysis for this biomarker. Methods: RBP4 was isolated and detected from 0.5 uL of human plasma using MSIA technology, for the simultaneous quantification and differentiation of endogenous human RBP4 and its variants. Results: The linear range of the assay was 7.81–500 ug/mL, and the limit of detection and limit of quantification were 3.36 ug/mL and 6.52 ug/mL, respectively. The intra-assay CVs were determined to be 5.1 % and the inter-assay CVs were 9.6%. The percent recovery of the RBP4-MSIA ranged from 95 – 105%. Method comparison of the RBP4 MSIA vs the Immun Diagnostik ELISA yielded a Passing & Bablok fit of MSIA = 1.056 ELISA – 3.09, while the Cusum linearity p-value was.0.1 and the mean bias determined by the Altman Bland test was 1.2%. Conclusion: The novel RBP4 MSIA provided a fast, accurate and precise quantitative protein measurement as compared to the standard commercially available ELISA. Moreover, this method also allowed for the detection of RBP4 variants that are present in each sample, which may in the future provide a new dimension in the clinical utility of this biomarker
