    Get PDF
AbstractObjectives: to analyse the causes of injury, surgical approaches, outcome and complication of vascular trauma of the upper and lower limbs in patients with vascular injuries operated on over a period between 1981 and 1995.Patients: in 157 patients, the injuries were penetrating in 136 cases and blunt in 21. Isolated vascular trauma was present in 92 (58.6%) patients, 65 cases (41.4%) were aggrevated by concomitant bone fractures, severe nerve and soft tissue damage. The most frequently injured vessels were the superficial femoral (20.6%) and brachial (19.1%) arteries. Results: saphenous vein interposition grafting was applied with good results in 34 patients, polytetrafluoroethylene grafts were used in three cases, end-to-end anastomoses in 42 cases, venous bypasses in five cases, and venous patches in seven cases. Seventeen patients underwent arterial repair and nine, venous repair. Fasciotomy was used in 18 cases, and vessels were ligated in 14 cases. Blood flow was restored in 91 patients (58.0%), and collaterals compensated in 31 cases (19.7%). Fourteen primary and nine secondary amputations were performed. Twelve patients died. The limb salvage rate was 77.7% (84.1% among surviving patients). Conclusions: most vascular injuries associated with limb trauma can be managed successfully unless associated by severe concomitant damage to bones, nerves and soft tissues

The geological model of the western Garekakheti is presented here. On the basis of the interpreted seismic profiles and oil-well data has been constructed of geological cross-sections. The geological cross-sections show that the main structures within western Garekakheti are represented by breakthrough fault-propagation folds. Within the western Garekakheti during Upper Miocene-Pleistocene, a series of thrust-top basins developed.

    Dold-Kan Type Theorem for Γ-Groups

    No full text
Introduction \Gamma-spaces were introduced by Segal [S], who proved that they are combinatorial models for connective spectra (see also [A], [BF]). Based on Kan-Thurston theorem we show that any \Gamma-space is stably weak equivalent to a discrete \Gamma-group. By a well-known theorem of Dold-Kan the Moore normalization establishes the equivalence between the category of simplicial abelian groups and the category of chain complexes (see [DP]). mimicking the construction of normalization of simplicial groups, we give a similar construction for \Gamma-groups. This construction is based on the notion of cross-effects of functors [BP], which is a generalizatin of the classical definition of Eilenberg and Mac Lane [EM] to the non-abelian setup. Finally a Dold-Kan type theorem for the category of \Gamma-groups is proved. In abelian case our theorem claims that the category of abelian \Gamma-groups is equivalent to the category of functors Ab\Omega , where\O

Hydrodynamic anomalies related with preparation of earthquakes mag>4 in Georgia (2022)

In terms of geodynamic life, territory of Georgia is one of the most active region. More the 20 year was operating a special network of hydro-geodynamical (water level, Atmosphere pressure and air temperature) observation on the territory of Georgia. Ten deep boreholes located basically on the main geo-plate and open deep aquifers. These wells as sensitive strain-meters recorded all kinds of deformation caused by exogenous (atmospheric pressure, tidal variations and season variation), as well as endogenous processes. During observation on the territory of Georgia has observed various anomalies by water level before seismic events [4,5]. Revealing of the mechanism of interrelation between the deformation processes, forestall strong earthquakes, and a hydrodynamic variation of underground waters, would allow to explain such preliminary behavior of hydrodynamic effects and to develop scientifically proven methods of the forecast of earthquakes

Supercurrent reversal in ferromagnetic hybrid nanowire Josephson junctions

We report supercurrent transport measurements in hybrid Josephson junctions comprised of semiconducting InAs nanowires with epitaxial ferromagnetic insulator EuS and superconducting Al coatings. The wires display a hysteretic superconducting window close to the coercivity, away from zero external magnetic field. Using a multi-interferometer setup, we measure the current-phase relation of multiple magnetic junctions and find an abrupt switch between π\pi and 0 phases within the superconducting window. We attribute the 0-π\pi transition to the discrete flipping of the EuS domains and provide a qualitative theory showing that a sizable exchange field can polarize the junction and lead to the supercurrent reversal. Both 00 and π\pi phases can be realized at zero external field by demagnetizing the wire
