SINONASAL VERRUCOUS CARCINOMA Case series and review of literature
Verrucous carcinoma is a low grade malignancy and is a variant of squamous cell carcinoma. It is a rare tumour of the Sino nasal tract. The neoplasm occurs in older people usually in the seventh or eighth decade of life. Our cases were sinonasal in origin and patients affected were young.
Minimal Uncertainty in Momentum: The Effects of IR Gravity on Quantum Mechanics
The effects of the IR aspects of gravity on quantum mechanics is
investigated. At large distances where due to gravity the space-time is curved,
there appears nonzero minimal uncertainty in the momentum of a
quantum mechanical particle. We apply the minimal uncertainty momentum to some
quantum mechanical interferometry examples and show that the phase shift
depends on the area surrounded by the path of the test particle . We also put
some limits on the related parameters. This prediction may be tested through
future experiments. The assumption of minimal uncertainty in momentum can also
explain the anomalous excess of the mass of the Cooper pair in a rotating thin
superconductor ring.Comment: 8 pages, revised version accepted by PR
Thermodynamic Geometry of Fractional Statistics
We extend our earlier study about the fractional exclusion statistics to
higher dimensions in full physical range and in the non-relativistic and
ultra-relativistic limits. Also, two other fractional statistics, namely
Gentile and Polychronakos fractional statistics, will be considered and
similarities and differences between these statistics will be explored.
Thermodynamic geometry suggests that a two dimensional Haldane fractional
exclusion gas is more stable than higher dimensional gases. Also, a complete
picture of attractive and repulsive statistical interaction of fractional
statistics is given. For a special kind of fractional statistics, by
considering the singular points of thermodynamic curvature, we find a
condensation for a non-pure bosonic system which is similar to the
Bose-Einstein condensation and the phase transition temperature will be worked
out.Comment: 29 pages, 12 figure
Pencarian Data Tiket Maintenance Menggunakan Metode Brute Force
Weyl holographic superconductor in the Lifshitz black hole background
We investigate analytically the properties of the Weyl holographic
superconductor in the Lifshitz black hole background. We find that the critical
temperature of the Weyl superconductor decreases with increasing Lifshitz
dynamical exponent, , indicating that condensation becomes difficult. In
addition, it is found that the critical temperature and condensation operator
could be affected by applying the Weyl coupling, . Moreover, we compute
the critical magnetic field and investigate its dependence on the parameters
and . Finally, we show numerically that the Weyl coupling parameter
and the Lifshitz dynamical exponent together control the size and
strength of the conductivity peak and the ratio of gap frequency over critical
temperature .Comment: 25 pages, 22 figure
Quality of life and thigh girth following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using hamstring autograft
Background: Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is commonly performed with intent to return earlier to normal activities, so graft selection becomes more important. The use of hamstring tendon autograft is supposed to have less postoperative morbidities. In this prospective study we assess the early post-operative complications. Methods: 25 patients were operated in Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Hyderabad, India, by the same surgeon and were assessed preoperatively, and 3 and 6 months after surgery. The hamstring and quadriceps strength were measured with PRIMUS RS machine. The patients were also assessed for their subjective complaints using International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) knee scoring system. Results: The peak power of flexion and extension of the knee joint significantly improved following the surgery which is essential for any athletic activities. Quadriceps and hamstring strengths were restored to 90%, which suggests that the grafting has been successful in restoring isometric strength. This is necessary to return to sporting activities. Power of hamstrings and quadriceps significantly improved following surgery. Quadriceps and hamstring endurance recovered and improved at the end of 6 months following surgery. Using IKDC scoring, nearly normal were 14, normal were 10 and abnormal 1. 3 patients (12%) presented with anterior knee pain. Sensory loss was noted in 6 patients (24%) at the end of 6 months following surgery. Swelling was noted in 5 patients (25%).Conclusions: Most morbidities are temporary in nature and do not significantly affect the patient’s activities
