Non Ketotic Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemia presenting as Epilepsia Partialis Continua: An unusual presentation of a common disorder
We report a patient with epilepsia partialis continua (EPC) associated with non ketotic hyperosmolar hyperglycemia. EPC is an uncommon presentation of nonketotic hyperglycemia. This case was reported in the Medical Intensive Care Unit in Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar
Pneumothorax, Pneumomediastinum, Pneumoperitoneum and Surgical Emphysema in Mechanically Ventilated Patients
A 29 year old male patient of Indian ancestry was admitted to an outside hospital with rapid deterioration of his level of consciousness. The patient required mechanical ventilation and transfer to MICU at Hamad Medical Corporation. The patient remained hypoxic. Chest X-ray, CT of chest, abdomen, pelvis and proximal areas of both lower limbs were performed. Pneumomediastinum, pneumoperitoneum, and extensive surgical emphysema were the diagnoses

The usage of home-made narcotic in RF, the main variant of which is intravenous administration, has increased greatly for the last ten years. According to such poor statistics a number of patients with pyoinflammatory complications after injections is increasing as well. The results of group of patients with complex treatment are significantly improving while using additional physical methods in management of wound, and here plasma technology has a special place. The described case shows a successful usage of plasma flows from different sources in dissection and stimulation in difficult clinical situations.Π£ΠΏΠΎΡΡΠ΅Π±Π»Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ ΠΊΡΡΡΠ°ΡΠ½ΠΎ ΠΏΡΠΈΠ³ΠΎΡΠΎΠ²Π»Π΅Π½Π½ΡΡ

Resolving person names in web people search
Disambiguating person names in a set of documents (such as a set of web pages returned in response to a person name) is a key task for the presentation of results and the automatic profiling of experts. With largely unstructured documents and an unknown number of people with the same name the problem presents many difficulties and challenges. This chapter treats the task of person name disambiguation as a document clustering problem, where it is assumed that the documents represent particular people. This leads to the person cluster hypothesis, which states that similar documents tend to represent the same person. Single Pass Clustering, k-Means Clustering, Agglomerative Clustering and Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis are employed and empirically evaluated in this context. On the SemEval 2007 Web People Search it is shown that the person cluster hypothesis holds reasonably well and that the Single Pass Clustering and Agglomerative Clustering methods provide the best performance
Oxime-type acetylcholinesterase reactivators in pregnancy: an overview
Oxime-type acetylcholinesterase reactivators (oxime-AChER) are used as an adjunct in the treatment for organophosphorus anticholinesterase poisoning. Because of the widespread usage and exposure of organophosphorus compounds (OPCs), its poisoning and fatalities is obvious in pregnant women, embryos and fetuses. OPCs irreversibly inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE) at nerve synapses. Furthermore, the role of AChE other than neurotransmission termination has been defined in the literature. The growing evidences show that cholinergic mechanisms are involved during growth and development of other organ systems. In contrary to the fact, the data on the use of oxime-AChER in OPC poisoning in pregnancy are scanty. The present review aimed to comprehend the status of oximes in pregnancy in lieu of the published literature. A thorough literature search was performed in January 2013, using ten popular search engines including Medline/PubMed, Google scholar, etc., using nine standard keywords. The search period was set from 1966 to present. The search did not reveal substantial data. No considerable studies were retrieved which could really demonstrate either the beneficial, harmful or even null effect of oxime-AChER usage in pregnancy. Only eighteen relevant articles were obtained for a period of about 47Β years. In the literature, there is no report available to demonstrate the risk of using oxime-AChER in pregnancy for the treatment of OPC poisoning. The study reveals that the use of oxime-AChER in pregnancy is largely un-addressed, inconclusive and based on speculation albeit the incidences of OPC poisoning are quite prevalent. Well-designed studies are warranted for a tangible conclusion. Β© 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg
