Lemon [Citrus limon (L.) Osbeck ], family Rutaceae, is one of the world's major fruit crops with global popularity contributing to human diets. Lemon rootstocks and scion cultivars play an important role in the rapid development of citrus in the world. This study was conducted to evaluate the growth performance of two lemon cultivars budded on three rootstocks under Gezira State conditions, Sudan. The experiment was conducted in the nursery of the Department of Horticultural Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Gezira, Wad Medani, Sudan, in 2017.Volcamariana, Rough Lemon and Macrophylla rootstocks were grafted with buds of Eureka and Teresa cultivars. The T- budding technique was used in this study. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replicates. Parameters measured were rootstock height and thickness, height of scion, number of branches, length of branches and stem circumference of the scion. The parameters were recorded for 10 months.  Rootstocks were significantly different in their vegetative growth.  Rough Lemon rootstock resulted in the best vegetative growth.  However, there were no significant differences in growth parameters between Volkameriana and Macrophylla rootstocks. Lemon cultivars were highly significantly different in their vegetative performance. Teresa lemon cultivar resulted in the largest plant height (73.9 cm), number of branches (27), length of branches (68 cm) and stem circumference (11.8 cm). The interaction effects of rootstocks and cultivars on vegetative performance of lemon were significant. The largest plant height (84.33 cm), number of branches (31.7), length of branches (75.7 cm) and stem circumference (12.3 cm) were obtained by Teresa cultivar budded on Rough Lemon rootstock and the smallest parameters were obtained by Eureka cultivar budded on Volkameriana, whereas the smallest length of branches (55.3) and stem circumference (9.5 cm) were obtained by Eureka cultivar budded on Macrophylla. Depending on the results of this study, it is recommended to bud the lemon cultivar Teresa on Rough Lemon rootstock under Gezira State Conditions, to obtain the best growth performance

Effect of annealing temperature on structural, morphology and dielectric properties of La0.75Ba0.25FeO3 perovskite

The effect of annealing temperature on the structure, morphology and dielectric properties of La0.75Ba0.25FeO3 compound prepared by the sol-gel method was investigated. The increase of the annealing temperature from 900 to 1100 °C, promotes an increase of the average grain size value. Two dielectric relaxations are detected using the dielectric modulus formalism, attributed to grain and grain boundary relaxations. This behavior was confirmed by both Nyquist and Argand's plots of dielectric impedance and Modulus results at different measuring temperatures. The ac conductivity could be described by Jonscher's power law revealing the presence of both overlapping large polaron tunneling and non-overlapping small polaron tunneling mechanisms.publishe

How the recent BABAR data for P to \gamma\gamma* affect the Standard Model predictions for the rare decays P to l+l-

Measuring the lepton anomalous magnetic moments (g2)(g-2) and the rare decays of light pseudoscalar mesons into lepton pairs Pl+lP\to l^{+}l^{-} , serve as important tests of the Standard Model. To reduce the theoretical uncertainty in the standard model predictions, the data on the charge and transition form factors of the light pseudoscalar mesons play a significant role. Recently, new data on the behavior of the transition form factors PγγP\to\gamma\gamma* at large momentum transfer were supplied by the BABAR collaboration. There are several problems with the theoretical interpretation of these data: 1) An unexpectedly slow decrease of the pion transition form factor at high momenta, 2) the qualitative difference in the behavior of the pion form factor and the η\eta and η\eta^\prime form factors at high momenta, 3) the inconsistency of the measured ratio of the η\eta and η\eta^\prime form factors with the predicted one. We comment on the influence of the new BABAR data on the rare decay branchings.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure

A new RSA public key encryption scheme with chaotic maps

    Get PDF
Public key cryptography has received great attention in the field of information exchange through insecure channels. In this paper, we combine the Dependent-RSA (DRSA) and chaotic maps (CM) to get a new secure cryptosystem, which depends on both integer factorization and chaotic maps discrete logarithm (CMDL). Using this new system, the scammer has to go through two levels of reverse engineering, concurrently, so as to perform the recovery of original text from the cipher-text has been received. Thus, this new system is supposed to be more sophisticated and more secure than other systems. We prove that our new cryptosystem does not increase the overhead in performing the encryption process or the decryption process considering that it requires minimum operations in both. We show that this new cryptosystem is more efficient in terms of performance compared with other encryption systems, which makes it more suitable for nodes with limited computational ability

Status of the Optical Multiplexer Board 9U Prototype

    Get PDF
This paper presents the architecture and the status of the Optical Multiplexer Board (OMB) 9U for the ATLAS/LHC Tile hadronic calorimeter (TileCal). This board will analyze the front-end data CRC to prevent bit and burst errors produced by radiation. Besides, due to its position within the data acquisition chain it will be used to emulate front-end data for tests. The first two prototypes of the final OMB 9U version have been produced at CERN. Detailed design issues and manufacture features of these prototypes are described. Functional descriptions of the board on its two main operation modes as CRC checking and data ROD injector are explained as well as other functionalities. Finally, the schedule for next year when the production of the OMB will be take place is also presented
