Scandium abundances of F-G-K dwarf stars in a wide metallicity range

A new model atom of Sc II was constructed using the most up-to-date atomic data. For the testing purpose, the non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (non-LTE) calculations were carried out for three stars with reliably determined atmospheric parameters: the Sun, HD~61421 (Procyon), and HD~84937. Accounting for deviations from LTE leads to smaller abundance errors compared with the LTE case and consistent within the error bars abundances obtained from different Sc II lines. Solar non-LTE abundance log eps_Sun = 3.12+-0.05 exceeds the meteoritic abundance recommended by Lodders (2021), by 0.08~dex. But agreement within 0.02~dex with the meteoritic abundance is obtained for Procyon. Using high-resolution spectra, we determined the scandium LTE and non-LTE abundances for 56 stars in the metallicity range -2.62 <= [Fe/H] <= 0.24. The dependence of [Sc/Fe] on [Fe/H] demonstrates a similarity with the behavior of the alpha-process elements: scandium is enhanced relative to iron ([Sc/Fe] ~ 0.2) for [Fe/H] < -1, and [Sc/Fe] decreases with increasing [Fe/H] for the higher metallicity. There is a hint of a tight relation between abundances of scandium and titanium. The results obtained provide observational constraints to the scenarios of scandium origin.Comment: 23 pages, 7 figures, 2 tables. Accepted for publication in Astronomy Letter

Spectroscopy vs Interferometry: Comparision of the CP-Stars Radii

The fundamental parameters of atmospheres were determined for 5 magnetic chemically peculiar stars: HD 111133, HD 188041, HD 118022, HD 110066 and HD 204411 by spectroscopy. The comparision of radii obtained by spectral observations with direct measurements of radii by interferometry methods for study stars showed that the radii are consistent within the measurement errors. This fact makes it possible to use spectroscopic observations to obtain exact values of the fundamental parameters not only for bright CP-stars, but also for weaker CP-stars, where interferometric observations are not yet possible.

The result of a self-consistent analysis of high-resolution spectra for 10 Ap stars in the effective temperature range of 7 000—11 000 K is presented. The fundamental parameters of stars are obtained, the chemical composition of their atmospheres is determined, and the stratification of elements is estimated. For 9 stars, with the exception of HD 204411, a typical abundance pattern of SrCrEu-type Ap-star was obtained. There were compared spectroscopically derived effective temperatures, radii, and luminosity for 13 out of 14 Ap stars with the interferometric results. Radii and luminosity agree within the quoted errors of both determinations, the spectroscopic effective temperatures are higher than the interferometric temperatures for stars with Tef f > 9 000 K

Technologies of tutor activity in the educational environment of higher school

The relevance of the issue of students' adaptation to the educational environment of the university is caused by the aggravated contradiction between the need of society and the state for high quality higher education and the insufficient willingness of applicants to enter higher education to receive professional education in the new conditions of interaction with the educational environment of higher education. The authors set a goal to consider the factors of successful adaptation of students to the educational environment of higher education, one of which is the technology of tutoring. Turning to scientific sources allowed the authors to identify the provisions adopted as a regularity of the adaptation process, and to define adaptation as an intensive and dynamic, multilateral and complex life process associated with the development of an individual's sustainable skills to meet the requirements for him during training and education in higher education based on appropriate adaptive responses
