The structure of the quasistationary electromagnetic field of a high-frequency inductive discharge in the vicinity of the axis of a plasmoid
In approximating constant conductivity, a problem has been solved to show the distribution of the quasistationary electromagnetic field of a high-frequency inductive discharge of atmospheric pressure in the vicinity of the axis of a plasmoid. A system of equations, describing such a field, has been presented. The following parameters are included in this system of equations: amplitudes of longitudinal and radial components of the magnetic field; frequency; conductivity in discharge; the velocity of light in vacuum; the length of plasmoid
Determination of gas temperature in the plasmatron channel according to the known distribution of electronic temperature
An analytical method to calculate the temperature distribution of heavy
particles in the channel of the plasma torch on the known distribution of the
electronic temperature has been proposed. The results can be useful for a
number of model calculations in determining the most effective conditions of
gas blowing through the plasma torch with the purpose of heating the heavy
component. This approach allows us to understand full details about the
heating of cold gas, inpouring the plasma, and to estimate correctly the
distribution of the gas temperature inside the channel
Investigation of reliability indicators of information analysis systems based on Markov's absorbing chain model
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. In the result of study of the algorithm of the functioning of the early detection module of excessive losses, it is proven the ability to model it by using absorbing Markov chains. The particular interest is in the study of probability characteristics of early detection module functioning algorithm of losses in order to identify the relationship of indicators of reliability of individual elements, or the probability of occurrence of certain events and the likelihood of transmission of reliable information. The identified relations during the analysis allow to set thresholds reliability characteristics of the system components
Formation of junctions in the three-dimensional network of 3d metal-coordinated polyurethanes
Formation of junctions in the three-dimensional polymer network of 3d metal-coordinated polyurethanes obtained by adding binuclear coordination compounds of 3d metals (Fe, Cu) to the system was studied. The molecular mass characteristics of the products produced by the reaction of urethane formation up to the gel point were determined, and some kinetic parameters of the process were estimated. A metal complex reacts with a prepolymer based on oligo(ether diol) or oligo(ester diol) and tolylene 2,4-diisocyanate bearing NCO terminal groups by means of chain lengthening through the reaction of azo formation and coordination binding of 3d ions to the urethane and ester groups of neighboring chains to form branching junctions
Formation of 24Mg* in the Splitting of 28Si Nuclei by 1-GeV Protons
The 28Si(p, p' gamma)24Mg reaction has been studied at the ITEP accelerator
by the hadron-gamma coincidence method for a proton energy of 1 GeV. Two
reaction products are detected: a 1368.6-keV gamma-ray photon accompanying the
transition of the 24Mg* nucleus from the first excited state to the ground
state and a proton p' whose momentum is measured in a magnetic spectrometer.
The measured distribution in the energy lost by the proton in interaction is
attributed to five processes: the direct knockout of a nuclear alpha cluster,
the knockout of four nucleons with a total charge number of 2, the formation of
the DeltaSi isobaric nucleus, the formation of the Delta isobar in the
interaction of the incident proton with a nuclear nucleon, and the production
of a pi meson, which is at rest in the nuclear reference frame. The last
process likely corresponds to the reaction of the formation of a deeply bound
pion state in the 28P nucleus. Such states were previously observed only on
heavy nuclei. The cross sections for the listed processes have been estimated.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures submitted to JETP Letter
Electron microscopy analysis of ATP-independent nucleosome unfolding by FACT
FACT is a histone chaperone that participates in nucleosome removal and reassembly during transcription and replication. We used electron microscopy to study FACT, FACT:Nhp6 and FACT:Nhp6:nucleosome complexes, and found that all complexes adopt broad ranges of configurations, indicating high flexibility. We found unexpectedly that the DNA binding protein Nhp6 also binds to the C-terminal tails of FACT subunits, inducing more open geometries of FACT even in the absence of nucleosomes. Nhp6 therefore supports nucleosome unfolding by altering both the structure of FACT and the properties of nucleosomes. Complexes formed with FACT, Nhp6, and nucleosomes also produced a broad range of structures, revealing a large number of potential intermediates along a proposed unfolding pathway. The data suggest that Nhp6 has multiple roles before and during nucleosome unfolding by FACT, and that the process proceeds through a series of energetically similar intermediate structures, ultimately leading to an extensively unfolded form
Status of IGEX dark matter search at Canfranc Underground Laboratory
One IGEX 76Ge double-beta decay detector is currently operating in the
Canfranc Underground Laboratory in a search for dark matter WIMPs, through the
Ge nuclear recoil produced by the WIMP elastic scattering. In this talk we
report on the on-going efforts to understand and eventually reject the
background at low energy. These efforts have led to the improvement of the
neutron shielding and to partial reduction of the background, but still the
remaining events are not totally identified. A tritium contamination or
muon-induced neutrons are considered as possible sources, simulations and
experimental test being still under progress. According to the success of this
study we comment the prospects of the experiment as well as those of its future
extension, the GEDEON dark matter experiment.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, talk given at 4th International Workshop on the
