    Study of e+e- -> H+H- at a 800 GeV Linear Collider

    The production and decay of heavy charged Higgs bosons at a 800 GeV e+e- linear collider have been studied. The analysis of the H+H- -> tb tb, expected to be dominant in the MSSM, and H+H- -> W+h0 W-h0 decay modes leading to the same final state consisting of two W bosons and four b quarks, provides with a determination of the boson mass to 1 GeV and of the production cross section with 10% accuracy for 500 fb-1 of data.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, to appear in the Proceedings of the 5th Linear Collider Workshop Fermilab, October 200

    Decontamination of a surgical mask with UV-C irradiation: analysis of experimental results with optical simulations

    The suitability of ultraviolet-C (UV-C) irradiation for the decontamination of a surgical face mask was studied by decontamination experiments and carried out using Staphylococcus aureus and MS2 microbes. A moderate dosage level of 0.22J/cm² achieved within 2 min led to an over 6-log10 reduction in viable microbe contamination of the inner filtering layer. The underlying reason for this effective decontamination of fibers with small external UV-C dosage was explored with ray-tracing optical simulations, supported by optical measurements on reflection and transmission. The model 3D fiber network was constructed from X-ray tomography images of the layered mask structure consisting of polypropylene fibers. Both simulations and optical measurements indicated that UV light was able to penetrate even the deepest material regions. The simulations show that, despite radiation reflection from the outer mask layer, microbes in the actual filtering layer are affected by the radiation with increased probability due to multiple refraction and scattering of UV light from the inner fibers

Problems of the practical use of CIS by managers of Belarusian enterprises are formulated and the qualification requirements for managers of CIS within the implemented functions are substantiated. В статье проведена систематизация функций управления применительно к корпоративным информационным системам (КИС) с выделением набора задач и системы показателей в разрезе каждой функции, сформулированы проблемы практического использования КИС менеджерами белорусских предприятий, обоснованы квалификационные требования к менеджерам-пользователям КИС внутри реализуемых функций.
