The effectiveness of application of biodegradable conduit (NeuraGen; INTEGRA, USA) in combination with adipose derived multipotent mesenchymal stem cells and fibrin sealant (Tissucol-Kit; Baxter AG, Austria) on posttraumatic peripheral nerve regeneration was investigated using a rat model of sciatic nerve injury. We demonstrate that our proposed cell therapy confers a neuroprotective effect under our experimental design

On Overall Measure of Non-classicality of N-level Quantum System and Its Universality in the Large N Limit

In this report we are aiming at introducing a global measure of non-classicality of the state space of N-level quantum systems and estimating it in the limit of large N. For this purpose we employ the Wigner function negativity as a non-classicality criteria. Thus, the specific volume of the support of negative values of Wigner function is treated as a measure of non-classicality of an individual state. Assuming that the states of an N-level quantum system are distributed by Hilbert-Schmidt measure (Hilbert-Schmidt ensemble), we define the global measure as the average non-classicality of the individual states over the Hilbert-Schmidt ensemble. We present the numerical estimate of this quantity as a result of random generation of states, and prove a proposition claiming its exact value in the limit of N→ ∞. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG

Forward and Backward Chaining with P Systems

Summary. On the one hand, one of the concepts which lies at the basis of membrane computing is the multiset rewriting rule. On the other hand, the paradigm of rules is profusely used in computer science for representing and dealing with knowledge. Therefore, it makes much scene to establish a ”bridge ” between these domains, for instance, by designing P systems reproducing forward and backward chaining which can be used as tools for reasoning in propositional logic. Our work shows again, how powerful and intuitive the formalism of membrane computing is and how it can be used to represent concepts and notions from totally unrelated areas.

On Measures of Classicality/Quantumness in Quasiprobability Representations of Finite-Dimensional Quantum Systems

Abstract: In the present report we discuss measures of classicality/quantumness of states of finite-dimensional quantum systems, which are based on a deviation of quasiprobability distributions from true statistical distributions. Particularly, the dependence of the global indicator of classicality on the assigned geometry of a quantum state space is analysed for a whole family of Wigner quasiprobability representations. General considerations are exemplified by constructing the global indicator of classicality/quantumness for the Hilbert–Schmidt, Bures and Bogoliubov–Kubo–Mori ensembles of qubits and qutrits. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

The article dwells upon the peculiarities of introducing a new innovative educational program in an innovative region. The article provides the definition of the concepts "innovation", "innovative region" and "innovative education". It also outlines the main problems of the applying the Unified State Exam on a regular basis in 2009. Evaluation the results of the public re-education program for teachers according to state contracts of the Ministry of Education of Sverdlovsk Region is given (2007, 2008). The realization of these contracts is analyzed in the conclusion

<b><i>Background:</i></b> Noninvasive interventions to aid healthy cognitive aging are considered an important healthcare priority. Traditional approaches typically focus on cognitive training or aerobic exercise training. In the current study, we investigate the effect of exercises that directly combine cognitive and motor functions on visuomotor skills and general cognition in elderly with various degrees of cognitive deficits. <b><i>Subjects and Methods:</i></b> A total of 37 elderly, divided into four groups based on their level of cognition, completed a 16-week cognitive-motor training program. The weekly training sessions consisted of playing a videogame requiring goal-directed hand movements on a computer tablet for 30 minutes. Before and after the training program, all participants completed a test battery to establish their level of cognition and visuomotor skills. <b><i>Results:</i></b> We observed an overall change in visuomotor behavior in all groups, as participants completed the tasks faster but less accurately. More importantly, we observed a significant improvement in measures of overall cognition in the subaverage cognition group and the mild-to-moderate cognitive deficits group. <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> Our findings indicate that (1) cognitive-motor exercises induce improved test scores, which is most prominent in elderly with only mild cognitive deficits, and (2) cognitive-motor exercises induce altered visuomotor behavior and slight improvements in measures of general cognition
