    Heat transfer augmentation techniques refer to different methods like Swirl-flow devices include a number of geometric arrangements or tube inserts for forced flow that create rotating and/or secondary flow. Ccoiled tubes, inlet vortex generators, twisted-tape inserts, and axial core inserts with a screw-type winding used to increase rate of heat transfer without affecting much the overall performance of the system. These techniques are used in heat exchangers which are used in process industries, , air-conditioning equipments, refrigerators thermal Power plants, radiators for space vehicles and automobiles etc. This work mainly focuses on the twisted tape inserts with different pitch and twist ratio and its effect on friction factor

    A narrative review with a step-by-step guide to R software for clinicians: Navigating medical data analysis in cancer research

    Cancer causes immense suffering globally, and data constitute the cornerstone of cancer research. Analyzing data is pivotal, but manual analysis of vast datasets within constrained time frames is challenging and error-prone. Even minor inaccuracies can lead to false interpretations, affecting lives. This review explores the free, open-source, and widely acclaimed R software. Our goal was to facilitate data analysis and visualization in the scientific writing of clinical projects. R offers a wide range of features and packages for tasks like data manipulation, cleaning, analysis, and creating informative graphs, including traditional statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, time series, survival analysis, machine learning, and medical image analysis. These capabilities aid in accurate data analysis, facilitating a deeper understanding of cancer mechanisms and predicting outcomes. To prepare this review, we performed an online literature search in Scopus, PubMed, and Google for articles and books related to R software published between March 2012 and January 2024, using specific keywords such as “medical data analysis,” “RStudio,” “statistical software,” “clinical data management,” “R programming,” and “research tools.” Articles, books, and online sources lacking full-text options in English or complete information were excluded. A total of 66 articles and book chapters were retrieved, 22 were excluded, and 44 were included in this review. Through this article, our goal was to provide a user-friendly guide to employing R software for fundamental analysis with dummy data, making it accessible even to non-programmers. This will empower individuals to perform statistical analyses independently, contributing to cancer research with flexibility and accuracy

    Driving License Test Automation Using VB

    The System presented in this paper expedite the testing of candidates aspiring for a driving license in a more efficient and transparent manner, as compared to the present manual testing procedure existing in most parts of Asia and Pacific region. The manual test procedure is also subjected to multiple limitations like time consuming, costly and heavily controlled by the experience of examiner in conducting the test. This technological solution is developed by customizing 8051 controller based embedded system and VB based virtual instrument. The controller module senses the motion of the test vehicle on the test track referred to as zero rpm measurement. The proposed technological solution for the automation of existing manual test process enables the elimination of human intervention and improves the driving test accuracy while going paperless with Driving Skill Evaluation System. As a contribution to the society this technological solution can reduce the number of road accidents because most accidents results from lack of planning, anticipation and control which are highly dependent on driving skill

    Engineering the Uniform Lying Helical Structure in Chiral Nematic Liquid Crystals: From Morphology Transition to Dimension Control

    Chiral nematic liquid crystals (CLCs), with a unique helix structure, have attracted immense recognition over the last few decades owing to the abundant presence in natural phenomena and their diverse applications. However, the optical properties of CLC are usually hindered by the abundance of the so-called fingerprint domains. Up to now, studies have worked on controlling the in-plane orientation of the lying helix through surface rubbing and external stimuli. It remains challenging to achieve a steady and uniform lying helical structure. Here, by varying the surface anchoring strength, a uniform lying helical structure with long-range order is achieved as thermodynamically stable state without any external support. Poly (6-(4-methoxy-azobenzene-4’-oxy) hexyl methacrylate) (PMMAZO)—a liquid crystalline polymer—is deposited onto the silicon substrate to fine-tune the surface anchoring. By changing the grafting density of PMMAZO, both pitch size and morphology of the lying helical structure can be controlled. As the grafting density increases, the enhanced titled deformation of helical structure suppresses the pitch size of CLC at the same cell thickness; as the cell thickness increases, the morphology transition from long-range order stripes to small fingerprint domains is facilitated
