Evolutionarily Stable Strategies in Quantum Hawk-Dove Game
We quantized the Hawk-Dove game by using the most general form of a pure
initial state to investigate the existence of pure and mixed Evolutionarily
Stable Strategies (ESS). An example is considered to draw a comparison between
classical and quantum version of the game. Our choice of most general initial
quantum state enables us to make the game symmetric or asymmetric. We show that
for a particular set of game parameters where there exist only mixed ESS in the
classical version of the game, however, quantization allows even a pure
strategy to be an ESS for symmetric game in addition to ixed ESS. On the other
hand only pure strategy ESS can exist for asymmetric quantum version of the
Hawk-Dove game.Comment: Revised version. LaTex, 11 pages, no figure. Corresponding author's

The effect of quantum memory on quantum games
We study quantum games with correlated noise through a generalized
quantization scheme. We investigate the effects of memory on quantum games,
such as Prisoner's Dilemma, Battle of the Sexes and Chicken, through three
prototype quantum-correlated channels. It is shown that the quantum player
enjoys an advantage over the classical player for all nine cases considered in
this paper for the maximally entangled case. However, the quantum player can
also outperform the classical player for subsequent cases that can be noted in
the case of the Battle of the Sexes game. It can be seen that the Nash
equilibria do not change for all the three games under the effect of memory.Comment: 26 pages, 7 ps figure
Integration of biological data resources using image object keying.
This paper proposes a novel concept of ‘image object keying'. The work builds on earlier research in this area and shows how the 3D structure of a protein can be retrieved interactively from a gel electrophoresis protein spot. It uses intelligent image matching operations like the Hough Transform and Edge Detection techniques. Unique aspects are that searches may be initiated from multiple biological resources but with the results being integrated into a single page. A significant outcome of this work is that it enables researchers to search the database without the need to write and complex script
Quantum Games with Correlated Noise
We analyze quantum game with correlated noise through generalized
quantization scheme. Four different combinations on the basis of entanglement
of initial quantum state and the measurement basis are analyzed. It is shown
that the advantage that a quantum player can get by exploiting quantum
strategies is only valid when both the initial quantum state and the
measurement basis are in entangled form. Furthermore, it is shown that for
maximum correlation the effects of decoherence diminish and it behaves as a
noiseless game.Comment: 12 page
Extraocular Muscle Imbalance and Outcomes of Scleral Buckling Surgery for Primary Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment
Objective: The objective was to study the muscle imbalance, restrictive motility in unlike gazes and the outcomes of the scleral buckling surgery for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.
Study design: Prospective follow-up study
Settings and duration: The study was conducted at Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Rawalpindi from Aug 2015 to Jan 2016.
Methodology: The patients were checked prior to surgery and two follow up visits were done afterwards. Thorough history was taken along with full orthoptic assessment and ocular motility in all four main gazes including elevation, depression, adduction and abduction. Vision, type and position of explants, site of detachment, and risk factors of detachment were also observed.
Results: A total of 48 eyes of 46 patients were taken. Mean age of the study participants was 37.16±20.37 years. Horizontal, vertical and combined deviations were observed in study population. Exo deviation was most common deviation among patients. Most reported risk factors of retinal detachment included trauma, pseudophakia, aphakia and myopia. Motility limitations of all four gazes was observed and it was found out that after buckling the squint and restriction is been increased up till two months.
Conclusion: Ocular restriction among the patients was observed over a period of 2 months and it depicted that encircling with sclera buckling elicited an increase in restrictive ocular motility from pre-operative to 1 week and 2 months after surgery
Simulation of continuous variable quantum games without entanglement
A simulation scheme of quantum version of Cournot's Duopoly is proposed, in
which there is a new Nash equilibrium that may be also Pareto optimal without
any entanglement involved. The unique property of this simulation scheme is
decoherence-free against the symmetric photon loss. Furthermore, we analyze the
effects of the asymmetric information on this simulation scheme and investigate
the case of asymmetric game caused by asymmetric photon loss. A second-order
phase transition-like behavior of the average profits of the firm 1 and firm 2
in Nash equilibrium can be observed with the change of the degree of asymmetry
of the information or the degree of "virtual cooperation". It is also found
that asymmetric photon loss in this simulation scheme plays a similar role with
the asymmetric entangled states in the quantum game.
