Assessment of Pro Hepcidin and Related with Iron Profile on Hemodialysis Men Patients

    Get PDF
Patients with renal failure in the final stages undergo the treatment by hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is used to reinstate the intracellular and extracellular fluid environment, by propagation of molecules in solution through a semipermeable membrane along an electrochemical concentration gradient. Blood catching in the dialysis machine and the recurrent phlebotomy may lead to losing about 1-3 g of iron per year. Prohepcidin hormone is an acute phase protein (type II) that plays a major role in the systemic iron irregularities as it is a mediator of anemia in inflammation and regulator of iron metabolism. This study aims to evaluate the effect of hemodialysis on iron hemostasis and its relationship with prohepcidin as an inflammatory marker. This study includes forty four adult male patients with end-stage renal failure (in pre and post –treated) by means of chronic hemodialysis-HD with mean age (53.27 ± 13.76 years). The following biochemical investigations have been studied: Prohepcidin, Iron, Ferritin, Transferrin, Total Iron-Binding Capacity (TIBC), The Unsaturated Total Iron Binding Capacity (UIBC), and transferrin saturation (TAST).Decrement of Prohepcidin level on hemodialysis patients in post dialysis with non-significantly compared to pre dialysis, while iron and ferritin was increment in post treated than pre- treated with non-significantly.Hemodialysis affects Prohepcidin levels as it was long duration and Glomerular Filtration rate GFR (cock croft equation) and prohepcidin level affect the iron profile related with the iron store depletion

Objective: To synthesize new amino acetylenic benzophenone derivatives with significant H3-antagonist's activity. Methods: Amino acetylenic benzophenone derivatives were synthesized from the reaction of 2-hydroxybenzophenone with 3-bromoprop-1-in to generate 2-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)-1,3-benzophenone (AZ-1). A mixture of 2-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)-1,3-benzophenone, paraformaldehyde, cyclic amine, cuprous chloride (catalytic amount) in peroxide free dioane through Mannich reaction yielded the designed amino acetylenic benzophenone derivatives (AZ-2-7).Results: The IR, H1-NMR, 13C NMR, and elemental analysis were consistent with the assigned structures. The designers of these compounds as H3-antagonists were based on the nationalization of the important criteria that provide effective inhibitory binding with H3-receptor. Molecular docking results of compounds (AZ-2-7) showed a good H3-receptor antagonistic activity relative to thioperamide of-6 (kcal/mol) especially AZ-2 which has-8.6 (kcal/mol).Conclusion: Docking results provide a good lead to designing more effective H3 antagonists in managing many CNS diseases like Alzheimer, epilepsy, depression, schizophrenia and many others

The rapid development of technology led to the need to keep pace with it, especially in the field of image processing, because of its importance in the need to get better results. In this paper, new discrete Chebyshev wavelet transforms (DChWT) derived from Chebyshev polynomials (ChP) were proposed and characterized. In terms of orthogonality and approximation (convergence) in the field of mathematics, (ChP) were qualified to transform into discrete wavelets called (DChWT), depending on the mother function with operators (s, r), and were used in image processing to analyze them in the low filter and the high filter so that the image is analyzed into coefficients. Proximity and detail coefficients, which lead to dividing the image into four parts, low left (LL), in which the proximity coefficients are concentrated while the rest of the parts are centered on the detail coefficients, which are high left (HL), low right (LR), and high right (HR), and image compression through the new filter, which has proven its efficiency at level (8) in our results. The results of the proposed wavelets in this work were reached in calculating quality standards in the image obtained after the compression process after comparing them with the results obtained using the standard wavelet used in HaarSymlet 2, Conflict 2, and Daubecheis 2. The most important of these standards is a mean square error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), bit per pixel (BPP), compression ratio (CR), and table one. In this paper, the efficiency of the proposed new wavelets is explained after adding it to MATLAB and according to a specific program to drop in with the basic wavelets to take on their role in important tasks in the image processing area, like artificial intelligenc

Objective: To design and synthesise a new amino acetylenic tetrahydro phthalimide derivative and investigate their selective inhibitory activity to COXs.Methods: Aminoacetylenic tetrahydro phthalimide derivatives were synthesised by alkylation of tetrahydro phthalimide with propargyl bromide afforded 2-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-2,3,3a,4,7,7a-hexahydro-1H-isoindole-1,3-dione. The alkylated tetrahydro phthalimide was subjected to Mannich reaction afforded the desired amino acetylenic tetra phthalimide derivatives (AZ 1-6). The elemental analysis was indicated by the EuroEA elemental analyzer and biological characterization was via IR, 1H-NMR, [13]C-NMR, DSC was determined with the aid of Bruker FT-IR and Varian 300 MHz spectrometer and DMSO-d6 as a solvent, molecular docking was done using the Autodock Tool software (version 4.2). ChemBioDraw was used in the drawing of our schemes. Results: The IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DSC and elemental analysis were consistent with the assigned structures. The designers of the compounds as COXs inhibitor activity were based on the nationalisation of the important criteria that provide effective inhibitory binding with COXs–receptor. The results indicated that the synthesised compounds (AZ1-6) showed a close similarity in the binding affinity to both COXs and may be more specific to COX-1. AZ-5 showed the highest % of inhibition for COX-1 even better than aspirin. Which may suggest that the aryl group is required for COX-2 inhibition. Conclusion: For the first time, we indicate the requirement of aromaticity in COX-2 structural inhibitory activity.Â

This paper considers the vision of how to develop an efficient value chain and development strategies to improve the value chain in Oman. The main key factors of inclusive and sustainable development of the date value chain are determined to carry out the appropriate actions for improving the date palm sector in Oman. To explore the challenges and opportunities leading to the improvement of the marketing, commercialization, and competitiveness of dates and date palm products in this country, an analytical tool guideline (SWOT) was framed. Such analysis is useful to raise awareness to create policies for improved marketing of dates. Based on the SWOT analysis, the diversification of date varieties, and orientation toward modern plantations are the most important strengths of the date value chain. However, the increasing competition in regional and global date markets is the major threat to the date sector in Oman. There is a good possibility to promote the date processing industry in Oman given the rising demand for fresh and processed dates in national and international markets. A profitable and competitive date palm sector could be achieved by focusing on high yield and commercial varieties to ensure higher date palm productivity and the orientation toward adoption of quality standards to meet international market demand
