Alitta Forest, located in the city of Parepare, South Sulawesi, has an area of 84 ha, a portion of this forest area is functioned as part of a botanical garden. The jompie botanical garden has an area of 13.5 ha, with a collection of plants reaching 90 species originating from 81 plant clans and as many as 77 species that have been identified. In addition to a collection of high-level plants, jompie botanical gardens also have a diversity of microorganisms that have not been identified, especially microorganisms that symbiosis with plant roots known as mycorrhiza, so the purpose of this study is to identify and identify the abundance of mycorrhizal spores in the jompie botanical garden found in rhizosphere Gluta renghas L.. The research began with taking the rhizosphere under the stands of wet trees in the jompie botanical garden, which was then continued to identify and calculate the abundance of spores in the microbiology laboratory of Makassar's research and development environment and forestry. The identification results of mikoiza spores native to the jompie botanical garden show that they are found in two genera, namely; Acalauspora sp consisting of two morphotypes, and the genus Glomus sp consisting of one morphotype, with an average spore abundance of 45.3 per 100 grams rhizospher

Unraveling Forward and Backward Source Problems for a Nonlocal Integrodifferential Equation: A Journey through Operational Calculus for Dzherbashian-Nersesian Operator

This article primarily aims at introducing a novel operational calculus of Mikusi\'nski's type for the Dzherbashian-Nersesian operator. Using this calculus, we are able to derive exact solutions for the forward and backward source problems (BSPs) of a differential equation that features Dzherbashian-Nersesian operator in time and intertwined with nonlocal boundary conditions. The initial condition is expressed in terms of Riemann-Liouville integral (RLI). Solution is presented using Mittag-Leffler type functions (MLTFs). The outcomes related to the existence and uniqueness subject to certain conditions of regularity on the input data are established.Comment: 13 page

    DSLOT-NN: Digit-Serial Left-to-Right Neural Network Accelerator

We propose a Digit-Serial Left-tO-righT (DSLOT) arithmetic based processing technique called DSLOT-NN with aim to accelerate inference of the convolution operation in the deep neural networks (DNNs). The proposed work has the ability to assess and terminate the ineffective convolutions which results in massive power and energy savings. The processing engine is comprised of low-latency most-significant-digit-first (MSDF) (also called online) multipliers and adders that processes data from left-to-right, allowing the execution of subsequent operations in digit-pipelined manner. Use of online operators eliminates the need for the development of complex mechanism of identifying the negative activation, as the output with highest weight value is generated first, and the sign of the result can be identified as soon as first non-zero digit is generated. The precision of the online operators can be tuned at run-time, making them extremely useful in situations where accuracy can be compromised for power and energy savings. The proposed design has been implemented on Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA and is compared with state-of-the-art Stripes on various performance metrics. The results show the proposed design presents power savings, has shorter cycle time, and approximately 50% higher OPS per watt.Comment: Presented at 2023 26th Euromicro Conference on Digital System Design (DSD

Multi-junction solar cells play an important and significant role in the Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) Systems. Recent developments in Concentrated Photovoltaic concerning high power production and cost effective- ness along with better efficiency are due to the advancements in multi-junction cells. Boeing SpectroLab Inc. has introduced a Multi-junction solar cell employing tunnel junctions which improves efficiency up to 40%. This paper presents a simulation model of the generalized Multi-junction solar cell. The model adopts a mathematical approach in order to simulate and investigate the cell characterization curves including current density and power curves with respect to the applied voltage for different concentration levels and number of junctions and by varying the material properties of the multi-junctions and the tunneling layer. The proposed simulation model simulates the performance characteristics of two different natures of multi-junction solar cells including InGaP/GaAs Dual-junction Solar Cell (DJSC) with tunneling layer of InGaP and InGaP /GaAs/Ge Triple-Junction Solar Cell (TJSC) with tunneling layer of GaAs. Simulation results are presented in this paper which is in agreement with experimental results. Key–Words: Modeling, Multi-junction Solar Cell, Simulation, Tunnel Junctio

Background and Aims: The prevalence and extent of liver damage in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients remain poorly understood, primarily due to small-sized epidemiological studies with varying definitions of “liver injury”. We conducted a meta-analysis to derive generalizable, well-powered estimates of liver injury prevalence in COVID-19 patients. We also aimed to assess whether liver injury prevalence is significantly greater than the baseline prevalence of chronic liver disease (CLD). Our secondary aim was to study whether the degree of liver injury was associated with the severity of COVID-19.Materials and Methods: Electronic databases (PubMed and Scopus) were systematically searched in June 2020 for studies reporting the prevalence of baseline CLD and current liver injury in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Liver injury was defined as an elevation in transaminases \u3e3 times above the upper limit of normal. For the secondary analysis, all studies reporting mean liver enzyme levels in severe versus non-severe COVID-19 patients were included. A random-effects model was used for meta-analysis. Proportions were subjected to arcsine transformation and pooled to derive pooled proportions and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Subgroup differences were tested for using the chi-square test and associated p-value. Means and their standard errors were pooled to derive weighted mean differences (WMDs) and corresponding 95% CIs.Results: Electronic search yielded a total of 521 articles. After removal of duplicates and reviewing the full-texts of potential studies, a total of 27 studies met the inclusion criteria. Among a cohort of 8,817 patients, the prevalence of current liver injury was 15.7% (9.5%-23.0%), and this was significantly higher than the proportion of patients with a history of CLD (4.9% [2.2%-8.6%]; p \u3c 0.001). A total of 2,900 patients in our population had severe COVID-19, and 7,184 patients had non-severe COVID-19. Serum ALT (WMD: 7.19 [4.90, 9.48]; p \u3c 0.001; I2 = 69%), AST (WMD: 9.02 [6.89, 11.15]; p \u3c 0.001; I2 = 73%) and bilirubin levels (WMD: 1.78 [0.86, 2.70]; p \u3c 0.001; I2 = 82%) were significantly higher in patients with severe COVID-19 when compared to patients with non-severe disease. Albumin levels were significantly lower in patients with severe COVID-19 (WMD: -4.16 [-5.97, -2.35]; p \u3c 0.001; I2 = 95%).Conclusions: Patients with COVID-19 have a higher than expected prevalence of liver injury, and the extent of the injury is associated with the severity of the disease. Further studies are required to assess whether hepatic damage is caused by the virus, medications, or both
