Effective Kbar N interaction based on chiral SU(3) dynamics

The effective Kbar N interaction based on chiral SU(3) coupled-channel dynamics is derived and its extrapolation below the Kbar N threshold is studied in detail. Starting from the coupled-channel scattering equations, we eliminate the channels other than Kbar N and obtain an effective interaction in the single Kbar N channel. An equivalent local potential in coordinate space is constructed such as to reproduce the full scattering amplitude of the chiral SU(3) coupled-channel framework. We discuss several realistic chiral SU(3)-based models in comparison to reach conclusions about the uncertainties involved. It turns out that, in the region relevant to the discussion of deeply bound Kbar-nuclear few-body systems, the resulting energy-dependent, equivalent local potential is substantially less attractive than the one suggested in previous purely phenomenological treatments.Comment: RevTeX4, 16 pages, 15 figures, 5 tables, effect of higher order terms is discussed, final version to appear in Phys. Determining the Θ+\Theta^+ quantum numbers through a Kaon induced reaction

We study the K+p→π+KNK^+p\to \pi^+KN reaction with kinematical condition suited to the production of the Θ+\Theta^+ resonance. It is shown that in this reaction with the polarization experiment, a combined consideration of the strength at the peak and the angular dependence of cross section can help determine the Θ+\Theta^+ quantum numbers.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, Talk given at International Workshop PENTAQUARK04 at SPring-8, Japan, July 20-23, 200

    A narrow DNNDNN quasi-bound state

The energies and widths of DNNDNN quasi-bound states with isospin I=1/2 are evaluated in two methods, the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equation and the variational method approach to the effective one-channel Hamiltonian. The DNDN interactions are constructed so that they dynamically generate the Λc(2595)\Lambda_c(2595) (I=0, Jπ=1/2−J^{\pi} =1/2^-) resonance state. We find that the system is bound by about 250 MeV from the DNNDNN threshold, s∼3500\sqrt{s} \sim 3500 MeV. Its width including both the mesonic decay and the DD absorption, is estimated to be about 20-40 MeV. The I=0 DNDN pair in the DNNDNN system is found to form a cluster that is similar to the Λc(2595)\Lambda_c(2595).Comment: 17 pages, 18 figures, 3 table

The structure of N(1535) in the aspect of chiral symmetry

The structure of N(1535) is discussed in dynamical and symmetry aspects based on chiral symmetry. We find that the N(1535) in chiral unitary model has implicitly some components other than meson-baryon one. We also discuss the N(1535) in the chiral doublet picture.Comment: 4 pages, no figure, talk given at Workshop on Chiral Symmetry in Hadron and Nuclear Physics: Chiral07, Osaka, Japan, 13-16 Nov 200

    Λ(1405)\Lambda(1405) production in the π−p→K0πΣ\pi^-p\to K^0\pi\Sigma reaction

We discuss the mechanisms that lead to Λ(1405)\Lambda(1405) production in the π−p→K0πΣ\pi^-p\to K^0\pi\Sigma reaction. The problem has gained renewed interest after different works converge to the conclusion that there are two resonances around the region of 1400 MeV, rather than one, and that they couple differently to the πΣ\pi\Sigma and KˉN\bar{K}N channels. We look at the dynamics of that reaction and find two mechanisms which eventually filter each one of the resonances, leading to very different shapes of the πΣ\pi\Sigma invariant mass distributions. The combination of the two mechanisms leads to a shape of this distribution compatible with the experimental measurements.Comment: RevTeX4, 10 pages, 8 figures, 2 tables, Version to appear in Phys.
