Structure of the low lying levels of the 33S nucleus investigated by the 32S(d,p) 33S reaction
An investigation of the 32S(d, p)33S reaction was made at a deuteron bombarding energy
of 12.3 MeV. The energy spectra were measured by magnetic analysis and the obtained angulardistributions
were compared with the predictions of DWBA, using the deuteron optical model
parameters obtained from an analysis of the elastic scattering of deuterons on 32S nuclei. The
absolute values of spectroscopic factors, extracted on this basis, indicate a significant contribution
of higher configurations in the ground state wave function of the 32S nucleus. There are no
arguments which permit the identification of the observed states of the 33S nucleus as rotational

Complete Renormalization Group Improvement-Avoiding Factorization and Renormalization Scale Dependence in QCD Predictions
For moments of leptoproduction structure functions we show that all
dependence on the renormalization and factorization scales disappears, provided
that all the ultraviolet logarithms involving the physical energy scale Q are
completely resummed. The approach is closely related to Grunberg's method of
Effective Charges. A direct and simple method for extracting the universal
dimensional transmutation parameter of QCD from experimental data is advocated.Comment: 16 pages, no figure
Renormalization scheme dependence in e+e- annihilation and [tau]-lepton decay at the next-to-next-to-leading order of perturbative QCD
We present a detailed investigation of the renormalization scheme dependence of the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD predictions for the processes e+e--->hadrons and [tau]-->[nu][tau]+hadrons. âI saw the signâ: Extent of Use of Filipino Sign Language and its Impact on Interpersonal Relationships in the Workplace among Deaf employees
In recent years, there has been an increase in employment opportunities available to persons with disabilities. Despite this, stigma surrounding the employment of the Deaf community in particular remains, causing higher unemployment rates as many employers show a preference for those with motor disabilities. Socialization is often the cited reason for this. Deaf employees face several communication barriers, such as the lack of a common linguistic background with their co-workers, as the former is limited to manual communication while the latter uses verbal. To overcome this barrier, some workplaces utilize Filipino Sign Language (FSL) to facilitate effective communication between Deaf and hearing co-workers. This study aimed to determine the impact of the Extent of FSL Use on the Quality of Interpersonal Relationships in the workplace, along with the Personal and Work-Related Characteristics generally affecting FSL Use. Through the use of a self-administered questionnaire and purposive sampling limited to Deaf employees, a positive correlation was found between the Extent of FSL Use and the Deaf employeesâ perception of the Quality of Interpersonal Relationships with hearing colleagues. Factors such as Nature of Work, Educational Attainment, Industry, Network, and Organizational Size were also found to influence the Extent of FSL Use in the workplace
New ADS Functionality for the Curator
In this paper we provide an update concerning the operations of the NASA
Astrophysics Data System (ADS), its services and user interface, and the
content currently indexed in its database. As the primary information system
used by researchers in Astronomy, the ADS aims to provide a comprehensive index
of all scholarly resources appearing in the literature. With the current effort
in our community to support data and software citations, we discuss what steps
the ADS is taking to provide the needed infrastructure in collaboration with
publishers and data providers. A new API provides access to the ADS search
interface, metrics, and libraries allowing users to programmatically automate
discovery and curation tasks. The new ADS interface supports a greater
integration of content and services with a variety of partners, including ORCID
claiming, indexing of SIMBAD objects, and article graphics from a variety of
publishers. Finally, we highlight how librarians can facilitate the ingest of

Has the QCD RG-Improved Parton Content of Virtual Photons been Observed?
It is demonstrated that present and DIS ep data on the structure of
the virtual photon can be understood entirely in terms of the standard `naive'
quark--parton model box approach. Thus the QCD renormalization group (RG)
improved parton distributions of virtual photons, in particular their gluonic
component, have not yet been observed. The appropriate kinematical regions for
their future observation are pointed out as well as suitable measurements which
