AbstractThe main objective of this study is to determine the views of first grade primary school teachers regarding how 66 to 72 month- old children adapt to school. The working group of this study consists of 25 classroom teachers who work at first grade schools and who have 66 to 72 month-old children in their classes. Personal information form (a) and Interview form (b) were used to gather information during the study. In addition to using a “descriptive analysis” of qualitative research methods, the frequency of the teachers’ responses has been expressed numerically and interpreted. During interviews with the teachers, it was determined that some developmental delays (in terms of dexterity disabilities, difficulties in learning, and so on) were observed in children who began primary school between the ages of 66 to 72 months, compared to other children. In addition, these children experienced difficulties in controlling their toileting and adapting to their school. Teachers pointed out that if children attended nurseries or preschool, developmental differences among children could be eliminated

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to reveal whether the science and technology teachers working at primary schools have the habit to read the scientific studies in the recent year and are informed about the studies, and use the information they obtained from there. The study is a qualitative study and survey pattern has been used. The study group of Turkey consists of 51 science and technology teachers (of which 24 are female teachers and 27 are male teachers) working at primary schools located in three cities of Turkey including a metropolitan city. A survey consisting of structured and semi-structured questions prepared for the purpose of the study, which was drawn up by the researchers, was used to collect the data. As a result of the analysis of the research data, of 51 teachers involved in the study group, 37 stated that they have read scientific studies in the recent year and 14 stated that they have not read any scientific study. The teachers stated that they follow the scientific studies mainly on the Internet and that they follow these studies for their personal and professional development, to keep protected against misinformation and to gain a universal perspective

Publisher Copyright: © 2021 The AuthorsAdvanced digital technologies, such as the Internet of Things, blockchain, big data analytics and augmented reality, are gradually transforming the way multinational firms do business. Due to the extent of this transformation many scholars argue that the integration of these technologies marks the commencement of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). However, the question how these advanced technologies impact international business activities needs further attention. To this end, we adopt a multidisciplinary approach to review the related literature in international business (IB), general management, information systems, and operations research. We include the two latter fields, because advanced technologies have received more attention in these bodies of literature. Based on our analysis, we discuss the implications of these technologies for international business. Further, we highlight the drivers of technology utilisation by multinational firms and likely outcomes. We also provide future research avenues.Peer reviewe

E-commerce policy and the global economy: a path to more inclusive development?

The advancement of digitalization is gradually transforming the existing structure of the global economy. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, almost all cross-border transactions had a digital component in 2016. This is also reflected by the growing literature on digitalization and E-commerce. Yet, studies specifically focusing on E-commerce policy are scarce compared with other areas in this domain. By going beyond academic articles and including policy documents in our analysis, this study takes stock of the issues as well as the policy recommendations identified in these publications. Our analysis reveals that to promote an inclusive E-commerce participation, it is imperative to design policies that improve countries’ formal institutions, facilitate the inclusion of less-developed countries in the E-commerce space, and enhance E-commerce adoption by small- and medium-sized enterprises. We highlight the significance of collaboration between and solidarity among governments and other stakeholders
