Fabrication of Conjugated Polymer-Coated Noble-Metal Nanoprisms with High Stability and Optical Properties

Όλ¬Έ (μμ¬)-- μμΈλνκ΅ λνμ : ννλΆ, 2017. 2. μ₯λμ .The fabrication, characterization, stability, and optical properties of conjugated polymer-coated noble-metal nanoprisms are discussed from the point of view of physical and materials chemistry. Brief overviews of the chapter 1 and 2 in this dissertation are shown below.
In chapter 1, silver nanoprisms (Ag-PRs) have been expitaxially edge-coated with gold and subsequently covered fully with P3HT chains to fabricate poly(3-hexylthiophene)-grafted edge-gold-coated silver nanoprisms (P3HT@AuAg-PRs) which are miscible with organic solvents. Both absorption and emission spectra have indicated that aggregated P3HT chains are bound on the surfaces of noble-metal nanoprisms. Picosecond emission kinetic profiles have suggested that the S1 relaxation time of P3HT in P3HT@AuAg-PRs is reduced due to energy transfer to AuAg-PRs. From nanosecond transient-absorption kinetic profiles, the reduced amplitude and the increased decay time of T1 excitons in P3HT@AuAg-PRs have been measured. The surface-enhanced Raman scattering effect of P3HT@AuAg-PRs is as high as 4.6 because the sharp tips of AuAg-PRs which are maintained via gold coating serve as hot spots. The morphology deformation time of P3HT@AuAg-PRs in H2O2(aq) has been extended 48 times longer than that of Ag-PRs.
In chapter 2, self-assemblies of silver nanoprisms (AgPRs) having enhanced structural stability and optical properties have been facilely coated with polypyrrole (PPy) via the in situ polymerization of pyrrole (Py) monomers that also act as an assembling agent. The degree of AgPRs assembly has been controlled by varying the concentrations of trisodium citrate dihydrate, which bind selectively to the {111} facets of AgPRs. The morphology deformation time of self-assembled AgPRs just with thin PPy coating is 7 times longer than that of PPy-free AgPRs, suggesting that PPy coating prevents the sharp tips of AgPRs from being truncated by oxidizing agents. The surface-enhanced Raman scattering effect of highly assembled and PPy-coated AgPRs becomes as high as 6.3 due to the well-maintained sharp tips of AgPRs by PPy coating, as well as numerous hot spots generated between nanoprisms.Chapter 1. Nature of the neurosurgical patients include diversity of conscious level, variable degree of brain injury, disordered communication, unstable vital signs, and long surgical procedures. Thus, operating room (OR) nurses dealing these patients are demanded to perform a systemic care by setting up standards for high quality of care, by choosing relevant quality indicators, and finally by assessing quality of care being delivered to the neurosurgical patients. Then, OR nurses should apply the results of assessment to practice in OR, and refine the quality of care. The purpose of this study was to develop an evaluation tool for an advanced quality care of neurosurgical nursing in OR.
The study encompassed development of conceptual framework, preliminary tool, and content validity verification process. The conceptual framework was based on process evaluation framework, which focused on the care received by the patients, and Standards of Clinical Practice developed by the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). The prepliminary tool was developed from the conceptual framework and was evaluated by 10 experts who were OR head nurses or supervisors, and by 30 OR nurses with minimum 3-year career.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. To test expert validity with the 4-point scale, items gained 3-4 points were chosen. From these, items over .80 CVI( Index of Content Validity)were selected ultimately. As the average CVI was .973, the tool was proved to be highly valid.
2. The face validity test was done using highly valid expert's items. Five items under .80 CVI were analyzed and 2 of them were excluded. The other 3 items that gained below .80 CVI were not excluded since many authors considered these items as key aspects of the indicator. Again, the tool was proved to be valid since the average CVI was .889.
3. In summary, this study developed a highly valid evaluation tool which include 6 standards, 29 criteria, and 46 indicators. Furthermore, the tool could provide basic data for evalution of record, job rescription, performance appraisal, educational implement for new and existing nursing staffs, and formulation of data base in OR nursing.
This study concludes that the developed tool for an advanced quality care of the neurosurgical patients in OR could intensify the high quality care.restrictio
