This study was conducted to examine the effects of cold treatment, photoperiod, and daily light integral (DLI) on the growth and flowering of two Veronica species. In Experiment I, seedlings were grown under 9 h photoperiod at 22ยฐC. The plants (seedlings) with four or five nodes were stored at 5ยฐC for 0, 3, 6, 9, or 12 weeks, then forced under six photoperiod conditions [9, 12, 14, 16, or 24 h of continuous light or 9 h with a 4 h night interruption (NI22:00 to 02:00 HR)] in a greenhouse. Regardless of the duration of cold treatment, there were no significant differences between photoperiods in all growth parameters in both species. Cold treatment was not required for the flowering of two Veronica species, and photoperiod also did not affect the flowering of both species. These results indicate that two Veronica species can be classified as day-neutral plants without vernalization requirement. In Experiment II, seedlings with four or five nodes were grown under five DLI conditions (3.6, 6.6, 8.1, 14.7, and 18.3 molยทm-2ยทd-1) to determine the effect of DLI. The plants grown under DLI conditions of 8.1 to 18.3 molยทm-2ยทd-1 showed the lower maximum quantum efficiency (Fv/Fm) than those grown under DLI conditions of 3.6 and 6.6 molยทm-2ยทd-1 after 2 weeks of treatments. However, these differences diminished at 6 weeks after treatments. The net CO2 assimilation rates (An) for the light intensity of 200 to 1200 ฮผmolยทm-2ยทs-1 increased with increasing DLI. Most growth parameters of both species increased with increasing DLI. Increasing DLI did not affect flowering percentage in both species. However, the number of nodes below the first inflorescence was lower under higher DLI conditions, and the number of visible inflorescences (VI) and inflorescence length at the first open flower showed a similar trend as growth parameters. Days to VI, from VI to the first open flower, and to the first open flower decreased as DLI increased. These results suggest that high DLI condition can promote the growth and flowering of two Veronica species, and it can be used to force flowering of these plants in commercial production. ๋”ฐ๋ผ์„œ ๋†’์€ ์ผ์ผ์ ์‚ฐ๊ด‘๋Ÿ‰์ด ์‚ฐ๊ผฌ๋ฆฌํ’€๊ณผ ๊ธด์‚ฐ๊ผฌ๋ฆฌํ’€์˜ ์ƒ์œก๊ณผ ๊ฐœํ™”๋ฅผ ์ด‰์ง„ํ•  ์ˆ˜ ์žˆ์œผ๋ฉฐ ์ด๋ฅผ ํ†ตํ•˜์—ฌ ์‹ค์ œ ๋†๊ฐ€์—์„œ ๋‘ ์‹๋ฌผ์˜ ๊ฐœํ™” ์ด‰์ง„์ด ๊ฐ€๋Šฅํ•  ๊ฒƒ์œผ๋กœ ์ƒ๊ฐ๋œ๋‹ค.ABSTRACT..........................................................................................................i CONTENTS.........................................................................................................iv LIST OF TABLES...................................................................................................v LIST OF FIGURES.................................................................................................vi INTRODUCTION..................................................................................................1 LITERATURE REVIEW Flowering Response to Vernalization...............................................................4 Flowering Response to Photoperiod................................................................5 Growth and Flowering in Response to DLI.......................................................6 MATERIALS AND METHODS Vernalization and Photoperiod Requirements (Experiment I)............................8 Response to Daily Light Integral (Experiment II)................................................12 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Vernalization and Photoperiod Requirements (Experiment I)............................18 Response to Daily Light Integral (Experiment II)................................................30 LITERATURE CITED..............................................................................................44 ABSTRACT IN KOREAN........................................................................................49Maste

Firms choose the locations where they can capitalize on which may have been detrimental to national competitiveness. In this respect, the dissertation applies the concept of international business ecosystem in analyzing competitive advantages, and proves that global business is about the competition between business ecosystems where the value added activities of the firm need to be compatible and complementary with each other to enhance their connectivity and commerciality of a region. It is no more about having superior resources to make a firm or a nation more competitive in international business, but to build a platform that enhances the fit of the entire global value chain activities, through the four factors presented in this dissertation. This dissertation posits that the four criteria developed based on the platform studies and business ecosystem reconciles the issue between global activities of the firm and national competitiveness. The theoretical background to this logic is supported by the extended imbalance theory, where firms address the deficiencies at home through participating in global value chain. While the major contribution of this dissertation lies in the theoretical extensions of competitive advantage at firm, business ecosystem and national levels, the empirical analyses, were conducted to solidify the impact of global business ecosystem on both firm and national competitiveness. The findings also draw upon the legal and policy implications for economic and regional development, particularly for resource-scarce countries.ABSTRACT LIST OF TABLES AND FIGURES CHAPTER 1. However, they have limited industrial uses due to their low process tolerance within a commercial manufacturing process. Hence, formulating starch with soluble dietary fiber is viewed as an efficient way of improving its poor processability. Psyllium husk powder can be a useful source for formulating with starches due to its highly viscous form when in contact with water and its unique therapeutic effect. This study aimed to elucidate the influences of psyllium husk powder concentration on physicochemical and digestion properties of starch and to further develop psyllium-starch-alginate beads for applications of natural polymer in food. Formulating starches with increasing psyllium husk powder concentration delayed digesting time up to 4 hrs compared to the control. The addition of psyllium husk powder brings a slow release of glucose in simulated system of small intestine. The extent of glucose binding to fiber increased from 20.54 to 79.95 as the psyllium husk powder concentration increased from 1% (w/v) to 2% (w/v). The apparent viscosity continuously increased, considerably contributing to overall rheological flow behavior. Psyllium husk powder played an important role in reducing digestibility of starch and glucose permeability. The physical properties of psyllium husk powder including water holding capacity, viscosity, and swelling capacity mainly contributed to a promising controlled glucose release behavior of psyllium husk powder-starch-alginate beads. Binary mixtures of psyllium husk powder, starch, and sodium alginate can provide potential controlled polymer-based matrix systems.INTRODUCTION 1 MATERIALS AND METHODS 4 1. Materials 4 2. For the analysis, the 'Longitudinal Research on Korean Education 2013' data was used. The major results of the research were as follows. In the individual variables, the students' sense of community improved as the friendship, student autonomy, and volunteer participation increased. In the case of the family variables, the father's academic background and Relationship between parents and children had a positive effect on the student's sense of community. Teacher variables showed that academic achievement pressure, teacher's passion, and student and teacher interactions had a positive effect on student' s sense of community. Finally, school variables showed that the higher the level of school violence, the more negative impacts on students' sense of community It was found that the students' sense of community was influenced not only by individual and family variables but also by teachers and school variables. Therefore, it is necessary to support educational policies that improve sense of community through their school life

For this purpose, the questionnaires were administered to 183 vocational teachers. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, according to the analysis of the stages of concern, the vocational teachers corresponded to the โ€˜nonuserโ€™ type with a relatively high intensity level of 0-2. Second, as a result of analyzing the difference of concern stages according to teaching career, teachers with more than 20 years of teaching experience had a lower stage of concern than others. Third, the level of use showed that vocational teachers were at the highest level of 4th (level of normalization), but the performance of the NCS-based curriculum was limited to the settlement level in connection with the stages of concern. Based on these results, practical suggestions for the operation of the NCS-based curriculum in specialized high schools and suggestions for the follow-up study were proposed
