(A) STUDY ON DVORAK'S STRING QUARTET OP. 96

This thesis has studied the life of Dvorˇa´k and the characteristics of his works. It also has analyzed the characteristics of the harmony, melody, and the rhythm, and also the musical form of the string Quartet op. 96. Antonin Dvorˇa´k is one of the several late romantic composers who based their personal style on the song and dances of their native lands He stands alongside Bedrˇich Smetana as a founder of the Czech national school. Thus the summary of the form and characteristics of the string Quartet op. 96 at issue is as follows. It consists of four movements, taking after the format of the traditional classical sonatas. The first movement is in sonata form, the second in two-part song form, the third one in Scherzo form and Lastly, the fourth one in Rondo form. The overall musical pattern is of the melodic fragments of motives which is the theme in the 1st movement, being used in all movements in the theme or in the main melody either as a whole or partially. When we take a look at the key of each movement, the first and the fourth movements are in F major, the second one is in a minor, and the third one is interchanging in between F major and f minor, thus all movements are formed around F major, Regarding harmony, the tonic chord or the dominant chord often continues for a while and in rhythm, syncopation is used quite often. Therefore, we can say that with the folksong-like characteristics, in many ways Dvorˇa´k's String Quartet op. 96 shows the characteristics of the Nationalism in music in the late 19th century.;본 논문은 드보르작의 생애와 작품의 특징에 대하여 전반적으로 살펴본 다음, 현악 사중주 Op. 96의 형식 및 화성, 선율, 리듬 구조면에서 고찰하였다. 안톤 드보르작 (Antonin Dvorˇa´k)은 후기 낭만주의 작곡가로서, 조국의 노래와 무곡을 음악 양식의 바탕으로 삼았다. 또한 그는 스메타나와 나란히 체코 국민악파의 창립자로 꼽히고 있다. 따라서 본 과제 현악 사중주 Op. 96의 형식과 특징을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 전 곡은 전통적인 고전 소나타 양식을 따르고 있으며 4악장으로 구성된다. 즉 제1악장은 소나타 형식, 제2악장은 가요 2부분 형식, 제3악장은 스케르쪼 형식, 제4악장은 론도 형식으로 이루어지고 있다. 전체적인 구성은 제 1악장의 주제적인 요소들이 모든 악장의 주제나 선율에 전체적으로 혹은 부분적으로 사용된다. 각 악장의 조성은 제 1악장과 제 4악장이 F장조, 제 2악장이 d단조, 제 3악장이 F장조와 f단조가 교차됨으로써 모든 악장이 F장조를 중심으로 구성된다. 화성면에 있어서 이 곡은 으뜸(Ⅰ)화음 또는 딸림(Ⅴ) 화음이 자주 길게 지속적으로 사용되고 있으며, 또한 리듬면에서는 싱코페이션이 매우 자주 나타난다. 이상과 같이 드보르작의 현악 사중주 Op. 96은 여러 가지면에서 민요적인 성격이 강하게 나타나고 있으며, 19세기 후반의 국민주의 음악 특징을 잘 보여주고 있다.목차 = ⅲ 논문개요 = ⅳ Ⅰ. 서론 = 1 Ⅱ. 드보르작의 생애 및 작품 = 2 A. 드보르작의 생애 = 2 B. 드보르작의 작품의 특징 = 4 Ⅲ.
