[์˜๋ฌธ] The purpose of this study is to empirically study the effects of servant leadership of nursing unit manager on trust in leader and organizational citizenship behavior of nursing staff and to suggest effective leadership of nursing organization Based on the survey data from 157 staff nurse working in university hospital in Seoul. And data was collected from questionnaires between April, 28th and May, 5th 2008. The data was analyzed by SPSS11.5 using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis. The result of the study can be summarized as follows : The mean of Servant leadership of nursing unit manager was 3.60(five grades scale), the mean of trust in leader was 3.76(five grades scale), the mean of organizational citizenship behavior was 3.75(five grades scale). Servant leadership of nursing unit manager based on the general characteristics has significant difference in work unit, trust in leader has significant difference in age and unit career, organizational citizenship behavior has significant difference in scholarship and religion. Servant leadership was found to have positive correlation with trust in leader, especially community building of sub characteristics of servant leadership was high level positive correlation and positive correlation was observed between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior, especially awareness of sub characteristics of servant leadership was high level positive correlation. Trust in leader of nursing staff was found to have positive correlation with organizational citizenship behavior of nursing staff. In conclusion, this study showed that servant leadership of nursing unit manager has deep relations with trust in leader and with organizational citizenship behavior of nursing staff. Accordingly it is necessary to consider continuance study about servant leadership and education program for nursing organization.restrictio
