Effects of a Mother-fetus Interaction Promotion Program on the Mother-infant Interaction during Feeding

    No full text
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a mother-fetus interaction promotion program aimed at enhancing the sensitivity of primiparas, and to evaluate the effects of a mother-infant play interaction. Method: Participants were recruited from OB-GY clinic with postpartum take-care center (17 mother-infant dyads for intervention group and 17 dyads for control group). Data were collected from January 18 to August 5, 2005. For the intervention group, programmed education which focused on mother-fetus interaction in the 3rd trimester was given. For the two groups, home visiting or a postpartum care center was used for data collection of the mother-infant interaction which was conducted at postpartum 1 week and 1 month. Also mother-infant interactions during feeding were videotaped and two trained observers analyzed the tapes. Results: A significant difference was found in mother-infant interaction between the two groups (postpartum 1 week, t=6.10, P=0.000, 1 month t=6.69, p=.000). For variations in mother-infant interaction in the control group, a significant difference was found in between postpartum 1 week and 1 month (t=-2.564, p=.021). In subscale analysis, interactional behavior of the infant significantly increased in both groups. Conclusion: This study showed that the mother-fetus interaction promotion program aimed at promoting mother-infant interaction increase maternal sensitivity. Therefore, this study suggests that this nursing intervention to increase maternal sensitivity to the fetus should be broadly applied with primiparas, as it can be beneficial for formation of the mother-infant relationship, and for promotion of the social, emotional, and cognitive developments of the children.

[์˜๋ฌธ]BackgroundGlucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is an intestinally derived insulinotropic hormone currently under investigation for use as a novel therapeutic agent in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. However, the short plasma half-life of the active forms of GLP-1 poses an obstacle to the sustained delivery of this peptide. In this study, we developed the mass expression system of GLP-1 peptides using Adenovirus and also evaluated the effect of GLP-1 gene delivery both in vitro and in vivo.MethodsIn vitro, we constucted the plasmid that expressed GLP-1(7-37) , pAAV-ILGLP-1. The nucleotide sequence encoding the signal peptide from human insulin leader (IL sequence) required for secretion of GLP-1 and it is driven by a potent Cytomegalovirus promoter. We proved the promoted level of the GLP-1 secretion comparing with other control plasmids, pAAV-MCS(vector alone) and pAAV-GLP-1(none insulin leader). GLP-1 peptides which secreted in media were evaluated by ELISA(Linco research) and the mRNA level measured by Northern blot in 48h after transfection in HEK(human embryonic kidney) 293 cell. Coculture assay for evaluation the insulinotropic effect of the GLP-1(7-37) peptide was performed with INS-1E cell, the rat insulin producing beta cell line, and plasmidtransfected HEK 293 cell.In vivo, we constructed the ILGLP-1 expressed Adenoviral plasmid. The ILGLP-1 sequences are inserted in pShuttle vector and pShuttle-ILGLP-1 linked pADEasy(Adenoviral vector) and we constructed pAD-LacZ, the control vector(Not containing the ILGLP-1 sequence) . We injected the GLP-1 expressed Adenovirus and LacZ virus(empty virus) via tail vein or portal vein in the Zucker Diabetic Fatty rat, type 2 diabetes animal model, and checked the blood glucose level by oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT), the plasma insulin and GLP-1 by radioimmunoassay(RIA). Finally we demonstrated the expressed GLP-1 peptides in Liver tissue by immunohistochemistry.ResultsThe in vitro results showed that GLP-1 secretion into media more effectly through insulin leader sequence. In vivo study, we resulted in improving blood glucose level and it was maintained for three weeks. The plasma GLP-1 and insulin concentration was increasing in early stage. Finally we proved the increasing GLP-1 expression in Liver and more expressed insulin in pancreas.ConclusionThese results demonstrate that our Adenovirus-mediated in vivo GLP-1 gene therapy providesalthough the short half-life and thus more effective blood glycemic control. This GLP-1 gene delivery system may provide an effective and safe treatment modality for type 2 diabetes.ope

Review of the Measurement of Mother Child Interaction

    Get PDF
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review the concept of Mother-Child Interaction (MCI) as well as its theoretical model and measurement methods. Methods: A review of related theories and research was done to identify the concept and present status of MCI measuring techniques. Results: The concept of MCI contains the two aspect of attachment and child rearing. MCI is unique in that it includes a dyadic process. The concept of MCI was developed based on attachment theory, Barnard's theory, and the goodness of fit model, MCI involves sensitivity, responsiveness, reciprocity, contingency, mutual satisfaction, and child developmental stimulation including positive and negative affection. Most instruments involved observation, especially in structured situations, and most were developed for mother-infant interaction. Conclusion: MCI is a reciprocal, goal-oriented partnership process and is an ongoing process during childhood. Instruments for measuring MCI for preschoolers as well as appropriate self-reporting instruments need to be developed for wide use in practice and in research

M ethods: The participants in this study were 323 elementary school students from 2 schools and 112 nursing students from 2 universities. Data was collected by a structured self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA by the SPSS 19.0 program. Results: The elementary students and nursing students recognized health service and health education as the most important role expectation for school health teachers. The role expectation of nursing students was higher than those of elementary students. The elementary students' points of view for role expectation were statistically different according to their health status. Conclusion: To improve the school health teacher's role, understanding the client's expectation is necessary.
