Shiba Ryotaro was a journalist as long as 13 years before he concentrated at historical novel. From 1953 to 1955, shiba used the penname "Fujin" and wrote 103 essays in Osaka Shibun， a famous local newspaper in Osaka. These essays, which are different from the news report, could somehow show his particularity on the view of Japanese culture. By looking into these materials, which not indexed before, the author wants to argue two points. First, Shiba shows resistance to the centre, Tokyo, as early as his "Fujin" period.
