    Causes and future risk of falling rocks were investigated at one yagura, a cave tomb, belonging to Hyakuhachi-Yagura Tombs, Kamakura City, because not a few falling rocks are observed there. In that yagura, the back wall and the ceiling are cut by a distinct fault, the strike of which is similar to that of the faults in Miura Peninsula, the surrounding area. Cracks, which are almost parallel or perpendicular to the fault, are also observed in and around the yagura. These cracks and bedding plane of the rock isolated blocks and finally became one of the main causes of the falling of rocks. So an attempt was made to measure the width of cracks with sensors. The width basically show periodicity correlated with temperature variation. However, at some cracks, the width unilaterally decreased without correlating with temperature variation. Such cracks should be elucidated carefully, considering the risk of crashing
