    COMORBID ANXIETY IN PATIENTS WITH PSYCHOSIS

    A diagnosis of psychosis has tended to discount the considerable degree of emotional disorder associated with it, in a manner that may also inform psychological treatment options. Depression and anxiety are often associated with schizophrenia. Up to 40% of people have clinical levels of depression and anxiety symptoms could occur in 60% of patients with chronic psychotic disorder. Among emotional problems depression and depressive symptoms are well recognised and treated with success, whereas anxiety is a less known phenomenon and has not been studied as much as depression. Comorbid anxiety disorders or symptoms (social phobia, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder) occur in patients with psychosis in the same way as in patients who have only anxiety disorder. This comorbidity adversely affects outcome, and it may also reflect on processes underlying the development of psychotic symptoms. The present review highlights some major characteristics of anxiety and psychosis and also some aspects of coping and treatment strategies for anxiety in patients with psychosis

    In this article, the author presents the educational programme for film educators Kino-Chair for Pedagogues in Slovenian Cinematheque. In the beginning, the author sheds light on the European film education framework and the strategy for the development of the Slovenian national programme for film education through the concept of film literacy from the European and Slovenian perspectives. In the core part of the paper, the author then examines the programme’s outline scheme, based on the broader context of theoretical aspects of concepts such as background representations, tacit knowledge, and education of the gaze. In the final part of the paper, the author presents the methods, procedures, and approaches through which the programme tries to stimulate the participants for as effective a contribution as possible. There the author also introduces the main characteristics of the first three years of the programme, which include the following topics: historical film movements, crucial methods of film education, and basic principles of film analysis and interpretation.Besedilo predstavlja izobraževalni program za pedagoške delavce Kino-katedra za pedagoge v Slovenski kinoteki. V izhodišču osvetljuje okvire evropske vizije filmskega izobraževanja in predlog strategije nacionalnega programa filmske vzgoje v Sloveniji skozi koncept filmske pismenosti v evropski in slovenski perspektivi. Osrednji del preučuje ključno idejno zasnovo programa, ki temelji na širšem kontekstu teoretskih vidikov konceptov, kot so: ozadne predstave, tiho znanje, vzgoja pogleda. V sklepnem delu pa avtor podaja metode, postopke in pristope, s katerimi poskušamo stimulirati udeležence k čimbolj intenzivnemu sodelovanju v vseh segmentih programa. Predstavlja pa tudi temeljne značilnosti prvih treh let izvedbe programa, ki zajemajo tematske sklope problematike zgodovinskih filmskih gibanj, preučevanja ključnih metod filmske vzgoje ter osnovnih načel filmske analize in interpretacije

    Priročnik za obvladovanje psihosocialnih tveganj in absentizma s pomočjo orodja OPSA ('A handbook for managing psychosocial risks and absenteeism with OPSA tool') is an integral part of the new, freely available tool aimed at management of psychosocial risks and health-related absenteeism (tool OPSA), which also incorporates a questionnaire and an Excel file for recording and evaluation of data from the questionnaire. Besides introducing the problem of psychosocial burdens experienced by employees at their workplace and beyond, this handbook can be used as a useful instrument for designing a various promotional and preventive arrangements which bettering employees’ health and well-being in their working settings, as suggested by recent guidelines for psychosocial risks management. A handbook is based on interactive chapters, including also numerous links to supportive health promotion websites in order to facilitate the preparation of adequate measures and related activities, commonly carried out by professionals in the field of health and safety at work. A special chapter is dedicated to instructions for working with the Excel file of OPSA tool, enabling an assessment of employees’ psychosocial burdens and risks of developing an excessive stress, absenteeism, presenteeism, turnover and experiencing of workplace violence.Priročnik je sestavni del novega, prosto dostopnega orodja za obvladovanje psihosocialnih tveganj in zdravstvenega absentizma (orodje OPSA), ki vključuje še vprašalnik in excelovo datoteko za vnašanje in vrednotenje podatkov iz vprašalnika. Priročnik je poleg tega, da seznanja uporabnike s problematiko psihosocialnih obremenitev, ki jih doživljajo zaposleni tako v svojem delovnem okolju kot izven njega, tudi uporaben pripomoček pri oblikovanju različnih preventivno promocijskih ukrepov, usmerjenih v izboljševanje zdravja zaposlenih in njihovega počutja v delovnem okolju.     V razvitem svetu je depresija ena najpogostejših duševnih motenj. Prizadene lahko kogarkoli in močno ovira vsakodnevno delovanje. Depresija je ozdravljiva, mogoče jo je preprečiti, predvsem pa je mogoče doseči, da se ne ponovi. Bipolarna motnja razpoloženja je prav tako pogosta in mnogokrat jo zamenjamo za druge duševne motnje. Spada med resne duševne motnje, vendar jo je mogoče uspešno zdraviti, preprečevati ponovitve in človek lahko z njo živi povsem običajno in uspešno. O duševnih motnjah še vedno ne zmoremo v naši družbi odkrito in brezskrbno govoriti, saj jih spremljajo stigma, sram, nerazumevanje in močan strah. Ljudje zato pogosto odlašajo z iskanjem strokovne pomoči, si skušajo pomagati sami in se včasih zatekajo tudi k neustreznim rešitvam. Zato priročnik o prepoznavanju in obvladovanju depresije in bipolarne motnje razpoloženja, s pomočjo osebnih zgodb običajnih ljudi pojasnjuje, kako poteka prepoznavanje teh dveh motenj, kakšno je življenje z njima ter kakšne so možnosti za samopomoč in zdravljenje

    The wellbeing of Slovenia's population by region: comparison of indicators with an emphasis on health

    In broader definitions, wellbeing is commonly described as a multidimensional concept, defined by the state of happiness, health, and prosperity. However, due to various understandings of conceptual issues regarding wellbeing, professionals encounter a number of methodological problems connected with measuring it. Composite indicators are thus being increasingly used to measure population's wellbeing. Health is an important area of wellbeing and is connected with indicators similar to those used for measuring general wellbeing. This article uses composite indicators to compare various areas of wellbeing, and especially health-related wellbeing, among the twelve Slovenian statistical regions. The findings show great differences between Slovenian regions. In western Slovenia (the Central Slovenia, Soča, Coastal-Karst, and Upper Carniola regions), the level of wellbeing is generally high, and in eastern Slovenia (the Carinthia, Lower Sava, Mura, and Central Sava regions) it is lower. Except for minor deviations, the level of general wellbeing in the regions matches the level of health-related wellbeing

    Na stresne okoliščine se vsi odzivamo podobno. Stres je normalno odzivanje na spremenjene okoliščine in sam po sebi ni duševna ali telesna motnja, pogosto pa je sprožilni dejavnik za vrsto duševnih in telesnih motenj. Krepitev duševnega zdravja in preprečevanje nastanka duševnih motenj temelji predvsem na povečevanju odpornosti na stres in reševanju vsakodnevnih težav na način, da se stres zmanjšuje. O duševnih motnjah vemo bistveno manj kot o prehladu, sladkorni bolezni ali drugih zdravstvenih težavah, poleg tega jih še vedno spremljajo stigma, sram, nerazumevanje in močan strah. Številni zato odlašajo z iskanjem pomoči, si skušajo pomagati sami ali se zatekajo k neustreznim rešitvam. V priročniku je posvečena posebna pozornost prepletenosti stresa in motenj razpoloženja ter pojasnilom, kaj se dogaja v našem telesu, ko je v stresu in kakšne so lahko dolgoročne posledice. S pomočjo osebnih zgodb običajnih ljudi je predstavljeno, kako poteka prepoznavanje anksioznih motenj, kakšne so razlike med različnimi vrstami anksioznih motenj ter kakšne možnosti so na voljo za samopomoč in zdravljenje
