Creating (extra)ordinary heritage through film-induced tourism: The case of Dubrovnik and the Game of Thrones
This chapter brings in the perspective on the practices of (re)producing heritage through film imagery in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. More specifically, the chapter discusses the recurrent practices of tour guides in reshaping and recreating the heritage of the city of Dubrovnik through film imagery related to the popular TV series, Game of Thrones. The analysis finds that Dubrovnikās heritage has become a melting pot of three or more narratives that require highly skilled professional guides who are able to provide necessary and accurate interpretation of the heritage. However, the real issue is whether Dubrovnik can continue to sustain itself as a significant heritage destination, since it has been increasingly profiled and promoted through film imagery

(G)A(i)ming at the throne: Social media and the use of visitor-generated content in destination marketing
This chapter brings in the perspective on the interrelatedness of social media and popular culture in destination marketing. More specifically, the chapter examines how the Game of Thrones phenomenon was embedded in Instagram activities of the national DMOs in countries where the filming took place. The analysis finds that the DMOs differ in their destination marketing strategies of associating their social media activities to the popular TV series Game of Thrones: they either have no strategy, guard place authenticity, or fabricate place authenticity. While some DMOs decided to not fully exploit the benefits of Game of Thrones-induced tourism in their online marketing activities, Croatia is argued to have excelled in seizing the given opportunities. The analysis provides support for the use of visitor-generated content to be freely incorporated in DMOs social media activities in order to develop destination images and enhance the authenticity of the place, with special emphasis on popular culture tourism
Crocus thomasii Ten. i Crocus variegatus Hoppe & Hornsch (Iridaceae) na kvarnerskim otocima
The genus Crocus L. is largely undersampled on Quarnero iIslands. Discovery of autumn-flowering Crocus thomasii Ten. was reported for the islands of Pag and Rab, while early-spring species Crocus variegatus Hoppe & Hornsch. was found on the island of Rab. Field surveys out of growing season should not be neglected, in order to gain data on some taxa, currently known as rare.

The rare myco-heterotrophic orchid Epipogium aphyllum Swartz was recorded on Mt Velebit for the first time. It was found in beech and fir dominated primeval forest (ass. Omphalodo-Fagetum) in Klepina duliba. After Mt Medvednica, PlitviÄka jezera and Samoborsko gorje, this is the fourth record of that species in Croatia in the last eighty years. Zabilježena je u bukovo-jelovoj praÅ”umi (as. Omphalodo-Fagetum) u Klepinoj dulibi.

Conceptualization of place attachment, self-congruity, and their impacts on word-of-mouth behaviors
The attachment theory and self-congruity theory have been widely used to explain and predict consumer behaviour. Similarly, the two theories have been also used in tourism studies with the aim to explain tourist destination choice. Placing a focus on destination visitors, the literature does not inform on the self-congruity effect among local residents, who also play a very important role in shaping destination image through their voluntary behaviors. The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, the study aims at extending self-image congruence research into the resident literature within the field of tourism, by examining the links between place attachment and self-congruity. The second objective is to propose and demonstrate that (actual, ideal, social, and ideal social self-congruity: a match between resident actual/ideal self-image and place image) is further positively related to residentsā word-of-mouth (WOM) intention
Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802), (Araneidae, Araneae, Arachnida) ā rijetka i vjerojatno ugrožena vrsta pauka u hrvatskoj fauni
The present paper deals with the distribution of Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802) (syn.: Epeira alsine Walckenaer, 1805; E. lutea C. L. Koch, 1837) in Croatia and its habitats based on literature data, museum collections and field findings. The spider A. alsine was captured in Croatiaās most diverse and oldest peatland, the Äon MoÄvar Botanical Reserve at BlatuÅ”a. The biology, ecology and threat status of A. alsine are discussed.U radu je navedena rasprostranjenost i tip staniÅ”ta pauka Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802) (syn.: Epeira alsine Walckenaer, 1805; E. lutea C. L. Koch, 1837) u Hrvatskoj, koji su izraÄeni na temelju literaturnih podataka, podataka iz muzejske zbirke i terenskih opažanja. Pauk A. alsine je ulovljen na najraznolikijem i najstarijem cretu u Hrvatskoj, u botaniÄkom rezervatu Äon moÄvar, BlatuÅ”a. U radu se raspravlja o biologiji, ekologiji i statusu ugroženosti vrste A. alsine
Raznolikost orhideja (Orchidaceae) u zbirci Hrvatskog Herbarija sensu stricto (ZA)
The collection of orchids within Herbarium Croaticum sensu stricto keeps as many as 1373 herbarium sheets, belonging to 91 taxa (25 genera, 76 species, 11 subspecies and four hybrids). The majority of the collection originates from Croatia while the rest are from neighbouring countries (Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Italy, North Macedonia and Montenegro). The most numerous genera are Orchis, Ophrys and Anacamptis, while the most numerous taxa are Gymnadenia conopsea, Platanthera bifolia, Anacamptis morio, Neotinea tridentata, Cephalanthera longifolia and Dactylorhiza maculata. The oldest herbarium sheets date back to 1883 and the average age of the collection is 113 years. The main collectors are Ljudevit Rossi, Dragutin Hirc and Ambroz HaraÄiÄ. The collection keeps holotypes and isotypes of Epipactis rivularis and Ophrys dinarica, while exsiccates of Malaxis monophyllos, Herminium monorchis and Ophrys Ć muellneri are the only evidence of their existence in Croatia. All sheets were digitized and are publically available via virtual herbarium.Zbirka orhideja u Hrvatskom herbariju sensu stricto sadrži ukupno 1373 herbarijskih listova, koji pripadaju 91 svojti (25 rodova, 76 vrsta, 11 podvrsta i Äetiri hibrida). VeÄina zbirke potjeÄe iz Hrvatske i nekoliko susjednih zemalja (Slovenija, Srbija, Bosna i Hercegovina, Italija, Sjeverna Makedonija i Crna Gora). Najbrojniji rodovi su Orchis, Ophrys i Anacamptis, a vrste Gymnadenia conopsea, Platanthera bifolia, Anacamptis morio, Neotinea tridentata, Cephalanthera longifolia i Dactylorhiza maculata.
Ukupna faktorska energetska efikasnost u zemljama Europske unije
The purpose of this research is to examine the economy-wide energy efficiency changes in the EU countries in the period from 2000 to 2010 and to compare the results with the traditional energy efficiency indicator. The DEA CCR multiple input-oriented model is applied in order to analyse the efficiency of the use of three inputs (capital stock, labour and energy consumption) in producing GDP as the output. In order to obtain the dynamics of data as to avoid the use of only a single year in calculating energy efficiency the extended DEA method - window analysis - is adopted. The empirical results confirm that the traditional one-factor energy efficiency indicator is too simplifying and could be misleading. The findings on total-factor energy efficiency scores reflect the possibility of substitution among factors in a medium run and changes in the composition of energy use. Projection values of inputs on efficiency frontier identify the amounts of relative inefficiency and, in that context, suggest improvements for all inefficient countries. The results reveal that all inefficient countries could improve their efficiency by reducing some of the inputs.
