Wykrywanie płomieni z wykorzystaniem obrazowania w podczerwieni
In this paper, we present a proposal of a method for the detection and localization of flames with the use of infrared images. In order to achieve this goal, an adaptive decomposition of an image has been used to search for adjusted elements of the Gabor dictionary. In our work, we used the Matching Pursuit algorithm [3]. Using decomposition coefficients of transformed infrared images, a coefficient of activity, characterizing the occurring thermal processes, has been defined. The method has been developed for the detection of flames and can find its application in intelligent surveillance and protection systems.W pracy zaproponowano metodę wykrywania i lokalizacji płomieni na podstawie analizy sekwencji zdjęć wykonanych techniką podczerwieni. Aby osiągnąć ten cel, przetwarzane obrazy poddano operacji poprawy jakości, a następnie odejmowano je od siebie w celu wyznaczenia obrazów różnicowych. Tak otrzymane obrazy poddawano operacji adaptacyjnej dekompozycji z zastosowaniem odpowiednio modelowanych funkcji Gabora w oparciu o algorytm Matching Pursuit. Bazując na algorytmie dekompozycji, zdefiniowano współczynnik aktywności termicznej, charakteryzujący wykryte procesy na obrazach wykonanych w podczerwieni. Opracowana metoda pozwala na wykrywanie i lokalizacje płomieni ze współczynnikiem wykrywalności True Positive równym 92%. Opisywane rozwiązanie może znaleźć zastosowanie w inteligentnych systemach monitoringu i ochrony przeciwpożarowej

Metoda badania właściwości transmisyjnych sieci o topologii grafów regularnych
The paper presents a methodology of study the properties of the transmission networks modeled by 3’rd and 4’th degree chordal rings, developed by the authors. Research methodology is based on two kinds of tests. First of them, measured the amount of data transmitted in different network structures using the HTTP protocol. The second, was measured quality of the received video stream, by the SSIM (Structural similarity) method. For testing, the set of virtual machines, connected by virtual network of 3rd and 4th chordal rings topology were used.W artykule zaprezentowano opracowaną przez autorów metodykę badania własności transmisyjnych sieci modelowanych przy pomocy grafów cięciwowych trzeciego i czwartego stopnia.
In recent years, an increasing trend in application of autonomous mobile
robots in multi-agent systems worldwide has highlighted the importance of
robot path planning. In this context, one of the main problems includes optimal
route determination and collision avoidance development for multi-robot
systems. In many situations, using multi-robot systems in the same environment
is a good strategy in managing tasks, and an example of which can be the
logistic environment. This paper presents robot control algorithms used for
transport managing in virtual warehouses. The problem of multi-robot path
planning in this paper refers to establishing an optimized path and avoiding
obstacles. The algorithm proposed by the authors assumes control over the work
of a single robot, in cooperation with other robots, in the same environment. The
robot performs the task, which is the transport of resources from distribution
points to points of storage, while the routing algorithm is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the algorithms. Simulation results show that the proposed
method can effectively improve the performance of the planned path.W ostatnich latach tendencja wzrostowa stosowania autonomicznych robotów
mobilnych w systemach wieloagentowych spowodowała wzrost znaczenia
do zarządzania przepływem zadań w określonym środowisku, przykładem
może tutaj posłużyć środowisko logistyczne. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia algorytm
sterowania ruchem robotów w zarządzaniu transportem w wirtualnych
magazynach. Problem planowania ruchem robotów w ramach niniejszego artykułu
odnosi się do znalezienia optymalnej ścieżki poruszania się między miejscem
początkowym a docelowym w taki sposób, aby uniknąć przeszkód. Proponowane
przez autorów algorytmy zakładają kontrolę pracy jednego robota, we
współpracy z innymi robotami, w tym samym środowisku. Każdy robot wykonuje
zadanie poprzez transport zasobu z punktów dystrybucji do punktów składowania.
Representation of a Monotone Curve by a Contour with Regular Change in Curvature
The problem of modelling a smooth contour with a regular change in curvature representing a monotone curve with specified accuracy is solved in this article. The contour was formed within the area of the possible location of a convex curve, which can interpolate a point series. The assumption that if a sequence of points can be interpolated by a monotone curve, then the reference curve on which these points have been assigned is monotone, provides the opportunity to implement the proposed approach to estimate the interpolation error of a point series of arbitrary configuration. The proposed methods for forming a convex regular contour by arcs of ellipses and B-spline ensure the interpolation of any point series in parts that can be interpolated by a monotone curve. At the same time, the deflection of the contour from the boundaries of the area of the possible location of
the monotone curve can be controlled. The possibilities of the developed methods are tested while solving problems of the interpolation of a point series belonging to monotone curves. The problems are solved in the CAD system of SolidWorks with the use of software application created based on the methods developed in the research work
Plasma protein changes reflect colorectal cancer development and associated inflammation
Abstract
Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancy and the second leading cause of death worldwide. Efficient non-invasive blood-based biomarkers for CRC early detection and prognosis are urgently needed.
Methods: To identify novel potential plasma biomarkers, we applied a proximity extension assay (PEA), an antibody-based proteomics strategy to quantify the abundance of plasma proteins in CRC development and cancer-associated inflammation from few μL of plasma sample.
Results: Among the 690 quantified proteins, levels of 202 plasma proteins were significantly changed in CRC patients compared to age-and-sex-matched healthy subjects. We identified novel protein changes involved in Th17 activity, oncogenic pathways, and cancer-related inflammation with potential implications in the CRC diagnosis. Moreover, the interferon γ (IFNG), interleukin (IL) 32, and IL17C were identified as associated with the early stages of CRC, whereas lysophosphatidic acid phosphatase type 6 (ACP6), Fms-related tyrosine kinase 4 (FLT4), and MANSC domain-containing protein 1 (MANSC1) were correlated with the late-stages of CRC.
Discussion: Further study to characterize the newly identified plasma protein changes from larger cohorts will facilitate the identification of potential novel diagnostic, prognostic biomarkers for CRC
Frequent genetic differences between matched primary and metastatic breast cancer provide an approach to identification of biomarkers for disease progression
Breast cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in women and its metastatic spread is the principal reason behind the fatal outcome. Metastasis-related research of breast cancer is however underdeveloped when compared with the abundant literature on primary tumors. We applied an unexplored approach comparing at high resolution the genomic profiles of primary tumors and synchronous axillary lymph node metastases from 13 patients with breast cancer. Overall, primary tumors displayed 20% higher number of aberrations than metastases. In all but two patients, we detected in total 157 statistically significant differences between primary lesions and matched metastases. We further observed differences that can be linked to metastatic disease and there was also an overlapping pattern of changes between different patients. Many of the differences described here have been previously linked to poor patient survival, suggesting that this is a viable approach toward finding biomarkers for disease progression and definition of new targets useful for development of anticancer drugs. Frequent genetic differences between primary tumors and metastases in breast cancer also question, at least to some extent, the role of primary tumors as a surrogate subject of study for the systemic disease
