Since competition has risen in the manufacturing methods of present conditions, the chance of competition has lost in the situations which new or high technologies aren’t exactly known. The proper selection is important for competing in the market conditions. In this study, the aim is to present the most advantaged cutting method for obtaining quality products by using high technology for gaining a better chance of competition. In the test, St 50 alloyed steel is used as sample. This sample is cut with the methods of laser, erosion and abrasive water jet (AWJ) among the cutting operations made with the high technology. The micro structure photograph of surface of sample, which is cut, are taken and the effects of different methods of cutting on the metallurgical structure of material are compared. Also, changes are examined by performing the measurement of rigidity to the core from the edge of cutting. The most advantaged cutting method is presented by considering these examinations

Research on vibration damping on computer power supply box made of castermid material

    Get PDF
In this study, our aim is to eliminate disadvantages that occur due to vibration. Therefore it has been made of the power supply box castermid material. In this study used both experimental and finite element methods analysis. For this purpose, the effects of the power supply box made directly of castermid material and the power supply box made of metal on damping of the vibration and which one of them is more effective were investigated, and the results were compared by Finite Element Method (FEM) results. As a result, it has been concluded that the castermid box created less noise than existing box did and it has damped the vibration more

Application of Different Heat Treatment to Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron and its Effect for Damping and Mode Shapes

    Get PDF
In this study, damping and mode shapes were investigated after boriding and austempering the spheroidal graphite cast iron (SGCI). The samples were boronised and austempered at 900℃ for 2 hours by employing the pack cementation method. The samples were cooled and tempered in a salt bath at 250℃ and 375℃ for 1 hour. Once the boriding and austempering processes were completed, the samples were cooled at room temperature and washed with plenty of water. The modal frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes of these samples exposed to different heat treatments were acquired by using the experimental modal analysis (MA) method. The same characteristic features were acquired with the finite element method (FEM), and the results were compared. It was found that after the heat treatment the sample austempered at 250oC had a harder surface and a higher frequency than other samples

Damping properties of open pore aluminum foams produced by vacuum casting and NaCl dissolution process

    Get PDF
In this study, damping ratios of 3 samples made of aluminum foam material, which have different-density pores, were calculated, the effects pore density on damping were examined. Experimental modal analysis method was used for examining of the effects of the pore density on damping. In experimental modal analysis method, frequency charts were obtained by driving to the sample with a hammer. Through these frequency charts, damping ratios of each 3 samples were calculated with ME’scope VES program. It was observed in calculated damping ratios that pore density has influences on damping; thus, damping accordingly increases as the number of pores increases. It is seen that critical damping constant decreases as the material structure changes in terms of volume and density

In order to determine the damping effect of shock absorbs in vehicles, different vehicles acceleration values were measured while they were passing over speed bumps at different speeds. The vehicles’ vibration magnitudes caused by road roughness were analyzed. In this study the measurements were conducted with two different vehicles, multiple drivers and at different speeds. The vibration valves were determined with a HVM 100 device, in different field conditions and at 20 - 40 and 60 km/h by transferring the results to the system. According to the results of statistical analysis damping effect of the shock absorbers in the vehicles changed in different speed ranges and field conditions and it was seen that driver’s performance was significantly affected due to the vibration

When we look at the process during which the need for manpower in the sectors related to production, decreased and a system based on automation, was implemented along with the use of technology in the production; the importance of the need of qualified manpower, stands in front of us as a problem that must be solved primarily. The most important step for overcoming these problems, is to make an educational planning and to put it into practice, in which issues such as the interests and requests of the individual in Vocational orientation, environmental conditions, and the state’s economic condition. In today’s economic conditions and labor markets that have gradually become more competitive, individuals have to change their j o bs or even occupations at will or if required throughout their life, and to renew and improve their skills continuously. Therefore, the programs implemented in the institutions that provide Vocational and technical training, should bring extensive and transferable skills to the students as well as occupation-specific skills. A sense of education in the level and equipment that is able to meet the expectations of manufacturing sector, will be a very impo rtant step for the solution of the problems faced in Vocational and technical education orientation in our country. In this study, solution offers concerning the Vocational and Technical Education Orientation, have been suggested according to the present condition and the problems faced
