Primena GIS-a u analizi intenziteta erozije u slivu reke Mlave
U ovom radu analizirano je stanje intenziteta erozije u slivu reke Mlave, desne pritoke Dunava. Za odreÄivanje koeficijenta, odnosno intenziteta erozije (Z) koriÅ”Äen je metod GavriloviÄa u kombinaciji sa indeksom ogoliÄenosti zemljiÅ”ta (BSI), upotrebom multispektralnih satelitskih snimaka i geografskih informacionih sistema. Kao konaÄan produkt obrade geoprostornih podataka dobijena je sintezna karta intenziteta erozije u slivu Mlave. PovrÅ”ina sliva je 1843.28 km2, a srednji koeficijent erozije iznosi 0.34. Cilj rada jeste prikaz intenziteta erozije u slivu Mlave, a rezultati dobijeni primenom geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS) mogu se upotrebiti za adekvatnije upravljanje vodnim i zemljiÅ”nim resursima, zaÅ”titu životne sredine i održivo planiranje Å”umskih podruÄja

Relation between osteocalcin and the energy metabolism in obesity
Background/Aim. Numerous findings have indicated the potential relation between the osteocalcin, the traditional parameter of bone turnover and the regulation of energy metabolism. The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between osteocalcin and calculated indexes, which evaluate insulin sensitivity, insulin resistance and/or secretory capacity of the pancreas, in non-diabetic, obese subjects. Methods. The study included 57 (11 men and 46 women) euglycemic, obese patients (the body mass index ā BMI : 41.03 Ā± 6.61 kg/mĀ²) and 48 healthy individuals, age and sex matched (BMI : 23.15 Ā± 2.04 kg/mĀ²). Plasma glucose and the insulin levels during the two-hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) were determined in order to calculate the Homeostatic Model Assessment (HOMA) indexes (HOMA-IR, HOMA-B%), EISI (estimated insulin sensitivity index), EFP (estimated first phase) and ESP (estimated second phase). Osteocalcin was measured by using the Electro-chemiluminescence (ECLIA) methodology. Results. Statistically lower osteocalcin was found in the obese subjects (24.72 Ā± 9.80 vs 33.31 Ā± 10.89 ng/mL; p < 0.01). Š¢here was a statistically significant positive correlation between osteocalcin and EISI (r = 0.340; p < 0.01). The inverse correlations were found between the osteocalcin and HOMA-IR (r = -0.276; p < 0.01), HOMA-B% (r = -0.337; p < 0.01), EFP (r = -0.332; p < 0.01) and ESP (r = -0.266; p < 0.01). Multiple regression showed that the BMI and osteocalcin have a significant inverse prediction with the EISI and HOMA-IR, but the level of prediction of the BMI was substantially higher. Conclusion. The effect of osteocalcin in the glycoregulation is evident, but its contribution is significantly smaller in relation to other obesity associated factors. Therefore, when assessing its position and the role in glycemic control it is always necessary to bear in mind that osteocalcin represents only one of the many contributing factors, some of which exhibit dominant influence than osteocalcin itself
The influence of hyperprolactinemia on coagulation parameters in females with prolactinomas
Introduction. Currently there is little information on the effects of
prolactin (PRL) on the coagulation and fibrinolytic systems. Objective. The
aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of hypeprolactinemia on the
parameters of the hemostatic system and activation of the coagulation system.
Methods. We studied PRL levels, body mass index (BMI), values of activated
partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), prothrombin time (PT), thrombin time
(TT), D-dimer level, von Willebrand factor antigen (vWFAg) and fibrinogen in
15 young female patients with microprolactinomas before and after therapy and
in 15 healthy female controls. Results. As expected, pretreatment PRL levels
were significantly higher in patients than in controls (140.90Ā±42.87 vs.
12.53Ā±4.05 ng/ml; p<0.001). PT, although still in the normal range, was
prolonged in patients with hyperprolactinemia as compared to the control
group (13.53Ā±1.39 vs. 12.65Ā±0.53 s; p=0.03) and normalized after therapy
(12.69Ā±0.65 vs. 12.65Ā±0.53 s; p=0.88). TT, although in normal range, was
significantly shorter in the hypeprolactinemic patients than in the controls
(14.34Ā±4.52 vs. 17.21Ā±1.35 s; p<0.025) and after treatment remained
significantly shorter than in the controls (15.17Ā±1.55 vs. 17.21Ā±1.35 s;
p<0.0001). D-dimer values before treatment in the patients with
hyperproplactinemia were above the normal range (239.47Ā±107.93 vs.
131.27Ā±50.64 ng/ml, p=0.002) and decreased to normal values after therapy
(239.47Ā±107.93 vs. 146.60Ā±39.15 ng/ml; p<0.001). D-dimer levels correlated
with PRL (r=0.30) and the change in serum D-dimer values significantly
correlated with the change in PRL levels during therapy (r=0.62). aPTT, vWFAg
and fibrinogen were similar in patients and controls. Conclusion. In our
study, increased thrombin generation that resulted in elevated D-dimer levels
may be one of the contributing factors to the prethrombotic state in patients

ima tri namjene. Prije svega, on je edukativna slikovnica za studente,
lijeÄnike i pacijente, ali i druge zainteresirane pojedince jer su u njoj
kroz ilustracije objaÅ”njene osnove genetike Äovjeka, kao i osnove medicinske
genetike. Od toga kako prepoznati osobu s genetiÄkim poremeÄajem, kako
nastaju i koje vrste genetiÄkih poremeÄaja postoje pa sve do toga na koji ih
naÄin možemo dijagnosticirati. Nadalje, nakon svake ilustracije na pojedinoj
stranici nalaze se definicije 79 pojmova iz medicinske genetike koje Äine
tezaurus za studente, lijeÄnike i pacijente koji se na bilo koji naÄin
susreÄu s genetiÄkim poremeÄajima. Naposljetku, ova knjiga sadrži i primjere
reÄenica u koje su ubaÄeni struÄni pojmovi iz medicinske genetike, a koji su
namijenjeni studentima prilikom savladavanja komunikacijskih vjeŔtina na
kolegiju Medicinska genetika, ali i lijeÄnicima prilikom informiranja svojih
pacijenata o (moguÄem) genetiÄkom poremeÄaju.
Uz kreatoricu ideje i urednicu izdanja, doc. dr. sc. Ninu Perezu, autori
izdanja su studenti Ŕeste godine Integriranog preddiplomskog i diplomskog
sveuÄiliÅ”nog studija Medicina i prof. dr. sc. SaÅ”a OstojiÄ
