Female sexual health has become a growing field of research and focus of clinical practice in the last 10-15 years. Mindfulness-based interventions, which emphasize the focus of attention on here and now experiences without being judgmental but with an accepting attitude, have emerged as a promising treatment option for women with sexual dysfunction. In this context, the purpose of this review is to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of mindfulness-based psychological interventions in women having difficulty at various stages of sexual functioning. In line with this purpose, several databases were searched with the keywords of “sexual dysfunction AND mindfulness”, “sexual desire AND mindfulness”, “sexual arousal AND mindfulness”, “sexual pain AND mindfulness”, and “orgasm disorder AND mindfulness”. Based on PRISMA decision criteria, 13 research article published between 2000 and 2017 have been identified. The findings indicated that both individual and group-oriented mindfulness-based therapies significantly improved sexual dysfunctions in various aspects of the sexual response cycle and these improvements were maintained in the long term. Besides the primary outcomes related to sexual functioning, it appears to cause positive changes in many areas such as depression, anxiety, couple harmony, and communication as well

The present study aimed at examining the associations among perceived parenting, different types of self-discrepancies, defense styles (i.e., mature, neurotic, immature), self-conscious emotions (i.e., pride, shame, and guilt), and the measures of psychological well-being (i.e., depression, trait anxiety, and satisfaction with life). The data were collected from 572 participants (365 females and 207 males) whose ages varied between 17 and 64 (M = 23.88, SD = 5.08), they completed Demographic Information Form, The Barrett-Lennard Relationship Inventory, Integrated Self-Discrepancy Index, Defense Style Questionaire, Trait Shame and Guilt Scale, Beck Depression Inventory, Trait form of Trait-State Anxiety Inventory, and Satisfaction with Life Scale. In order to figure out the paths among perceived parental relationships, self-discrepancy, specific types of defense styles, self-conscious emotions, and psychological well-being, three sets of hierarchical multiple regression analyses were conducted. Overall, the results revealed that the use of specific types of defense styles were significantly associated with perceived parental relationship and different types of self-discrepancies. Also, self-conscious emotions had significant associations with perceived parental relationship, self-discrepancy, and defenses styles. Lastly, perceived parental relationship, self-discrepancy, defense styles, and self-conscious emotions were significantly associated with depressive symptomatology, trait anxiety, and life satisfaction.M.S. - Master of Scienc

In the field of both education and psychology, if future situations are thought to be related to the past, how time-based change is taking place is an important research area. In this context, latent Markov analysis is a statistical method applied to make prediction about categorical latent variables by using observed variables. With acceleration of technological developments, latent Markov models can be examined with various special software, among which Latent GOLD program with select-click feature stands out. The aim of this paper is to introduce the Latent GOLD 5.1 program which is used to analyze the longitudinal categorical data and to test the latent Markov models to users. In this context, firstly a brief explanation of latent Markov model was given. Secondly, the general features of Latent GOLD 5.1 were mentioned. Finally, to give an example of how the analyses would be carried out via this program, a model test was conducted on a data set generated from Monte Carlo simulation and the information about the interpretation of the outputs was provided
