Revista do Museu Paulista e(m) capas: identidade e representação institucional em texto e imagem

Este artigo propõe reflexão sobre a escrita da história, a partir de estudo das capas da Revista do Museu Paulista, especialmente durante as gestões dos dois primeiros diretores da instituição, quando certa continuidade editorial foi preservada. Tomadas como "fontes", ou seja, objeto de trabalho do historiador, as capas revelam vestígios de processos que permitem reconstruir, em suas dimensões históricas, as complexas imbricações entre a produção da Revista, sua materialidade, e os atos de leitura e interpretação que condicionam e refletem relações entre produtores de textos e seus leitores nas primeiras décadas do século XX, a partir de São Paulo, onde era editada.This paper offers a reflection about the writing of History, based on the study of Revista do Museu Paulista's covers, noticeably during the term of its two first directors, when a certain editorial continuity was preserved. Taken as "sources", namely as historian subjects, those covers reveal evidences of practices that allow one to reconstitute, in its historic dimensions, the complex connection between the creation of the Revista, its materiality, and the reading and interpretation efforts that condition and reflect liaisons with writers and readers during the first decades of the XXth Century, from São Paulo, where it was published.

Manejo da fertirrigação e salinidade do solo no crescimento da cultura da beterraba

With the increase in world population and scarcity of natural resources, efficient use of fertilizers becomes necessary for intensive agriculture. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, UNESP in Botucatu-SP. The treatments were derived from the combination of the soil salinity (E.C: 1.0, 3.0, 6.0, 9.0 and 12.0 dS m-1), Fertigation management (M1 =traditional and M2 = with control of the ionic concentration of the soil solution) and beet cultivars (C1= Early Wonder and C2 = Itapuã) in a 5x2x2 factorial design with four replications in a randomized block design. Throughout the cultivation, the following variables were evaluated: height, stem diameter, length and diameter of plant roots. The height of the plant presented differently according to the Fertigation management and sensitive to levels of electrical conductivity in the soil. The diameter of the roots showed reductions of 3.55 and 2.48 mm for C1 and C2, respectively, every unit increase in electrical conductivity (EC) to M1. Based on the functional relationship of the best adjustment between the diameter of the roots and electrical conductivity in M2 gave an estimated maximum diameter of 90.78 mm to 94.67 mm for C1 and C2.Com o aumento da população mundial e a escassez dos recursos naturais, o uso eficiente dos fertilizantes torna-se necessário para uma agricultura intensiva. O experimento foi realizado em casa de vegetação no Departamento de Engenharia Rural da UNESP, no Município de Botucatu-SP. Os tratamentos foram provenientes da combinação dos fatores salinidade do solo (CE: 1,0; 3,0; 6,0; 9,0; 12,0 dS m-1), manejo da fertirrigação (M1=tradicional e M2=com controle da concentração iônica da solução do solo) e cultivares de beterraba (C1=Early Wonder e C2=Itapuã), em um esquema fatorial 5x2x2, com 4 repetições, em um delineamento em blocos. Durante todo o cultivo, foram avaliadas as seguintes variáveis: altura, diâmetro do pecíolo, comprimento e diâmetro das raízes das plantas. A variável altura de plantas apresentou comportamento diferenciado de acordo com o manejo da fertirrigação estudado, além de apresentar sensibilidade a elevados níveis de condutividade elétrica no solo. O diâmetro das raízes apresentou reduções de 3,55 e 2,48 mm para C1 e C2, respectivamente, a cada aumento unitário da condutividade elétrica (CE) para M1. Com base na relação funcional de melhor ajuste entre o diâmetro das raízes e a condutividade elétrica em M2, obteve-se o diâmetro máximo estimado em 90,78 mm para C1 e 94,67 mm para C2
