Opportunities and challenges in using AI Chatbots in Higher Education

Artificial intelligence (AI) conversational chatbots have gained popularity over time, and have been widely used in the fields of e-commerce, online banking, and digital healthcare and well-being, among others. The technology has the potential to provide personalised service to a range of consumers. However, the use of chatbots within educational settings is still limited. In this paper, we present three chatbot prototypes, the Warwick Manufacturing Group, University of Warwick, are currently developing, and discuss the potential opportunities and technical challenges we face when considering AI chatbots to support our daily activities within the department. Three AI virtual agents are under development: 1) to support the delivery of a taught Master's course simulation game; 2) to support the training and use of a newly introduced educational application; 3) to improve the processing of helpdesk requests within a university department. We hope this paper is informative to those interested in using chatbots in the educational domain. We also aim to improve awareness among those within the chatbot development industry, in particular the chatbot engine providers, about the educational and operational needs within educational institutes, which may differ from those in other domains

SOA services in higher education

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a recent architectural framework for distributed software system development in which software components are packaged as Services. It has become increasingly popular in academia and in industry, but has been principally used in the business domain. However, in higher education, SOA has rarely been applied or investigated. In this paper, we propose the idea of applying SOA technologies in the education domain, to increase both interoperability and flexibility within the e-learning environment. We expect that both students and teachers in higher educational institutions can benefit from this approach. We also describe a number of possible SOA services, along with a high level service roadmap to support a university's learning and teaching activities

This article explores the language picture of the World and its varieties, the role of children\u27s world picture and the features of its study. Also,special attention is paid to the Turkic children\u27s worldview of the 11th century, set forth in the famous Divan by Mahmoud Kashgary. Some comments are given to the analysis of the concept of children\u27s world picture .The study of the language concepts of the world, which we have analyzed in the book “Devanu lugat-it Turk” (DLT), which covers LPW in every aspect of the social life of the Turkic peoples in the 11th century, is also important. Different stages of children’s life can be birth, growth, speech, cradle life, walking; mother and child, father and child, children and adults, children\u27s games and many words on toys, toys and fairy tales, child rearing, methods and tools. According to Turkish researchers Zekerya Batur (Batur Zekerya) and Merve Beshtash (Beştaş Merve) 145 words out of 8000 in “Devan” illustrate children’s world, their growth, education process and teaching

Particularly, researching phraseological units carrying onomastic features in comparison with other systems of languages puts forward one of the topical tasks for modern linguistics. The following article is devoted to the study of the features of phraseological units with onomastic features in the English, Russian and Uzbek languages as well as creating their scientific classification and checking them under the lingua cultural aspects. In learning any foreign language it is important to master the language phenomena with the basics of cultural knowledge of the country concerning the target language. In order to train Spanish specialists, students should be introduced to Spanish cultural traditions which are different from Uzbek customs. In teaching Spanish high professionalism in intercultural communication is possible only if you know the roots of Spanish cultural traditions, the Spanish national character and mentality. The peculiarities of the Spanish language are those that it cannot be learned without the sociocultural and intercultural components. Students should be prepared to embrace a foreign culture, be able to properly understand it when faced with unfamiliar experiences, and be ready to overcome communicative barriers. MEDIA CONVERGENCE AS A FACTOR IN REFORMING THE JOURNALISTS TRAINING SYSTEM

This article provides an overview of the current state of journalist training in Uzbekistan and experiences gained in this regard. With the advancement of information technologies, changes in national journalism education, analysis of the requirements for the development of the industry and the educational system will be under taken in the article. The concept of media convergence, the attempt to explain through the scientific and theoretical perspectives of increasing the importance of this phenomenon in journalistic practice and education will be covered. The development of Internet journalism also shapes new types of activities in the field of information, including blogging, citizen journalism, freelance journalism, as well as the emergence of online journalism, and, finally, the need for journalists and PR men who would work in these industries. It is also emphasized that interactive journalism is developing in the Internet, with a wider range of possibilities, the popularity of mobile communication and the development of social networks, increasing the role of the population in the dissemination of information – and the need for updating the education. Internet journalists graduated from specialized faculties need more knowledge and experience than the population, and they should meet the needs of the population in the global media and traditional media outlets fast and qualitatively. In this regard,the article highlights the importance to further improve the national educational system, by providing examples of international experiences and models of qualified journalist cadres who meet the information age requirements. The author offers recommendations on the use of information technology in modern journalism and the formation of professional skills in digital media and Internet journalism in students. Methods and tools for introducing information communication and Internet technologies into educational models and lesson processes should be directly linked to modern requirements, and the importance of journalistic education worldwide is rapidly changing
