Solvability of the G_2 Integrable System
It is shown that the 3-body trigonometric G_2 integrable system is
exactly-solvable. If the configuration space is parametrized by certain
symmetric functions of the coordinates then, for arbitrary values of the
coupling constants, the Hamiltonian can be expressed as a quadratic polynomial
in the generators of some Lie algebra of differential operators in a
finite-dimensional representation. Four infinite families of eigenstates,
represented by polynomials, and the corresponding eigenvalues are described
explicitly.Comment: 18 pages, LaTeX, some minor typos correcte

The UNAM-KIAS Catalog of Isolated Galaxies
A new catalog of isolated galaxies from The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (DR5) is
presented. 1520 isolated galaxies were found in 1.4 steradians of sky. The
selection criteria in this so called UNAM-KIAS catalog was implemented from a
variation on the criteria developed by Karachentseva 1973 including full
redshift information. Through an image processing pipeline that takes advantage
from the high resolution (~ 0.4 ''/pix) and high dynamic range of the SDSS
images, a uniform g band morphological classification for all these galaxies is
presented. We identify 80% (SaSm) spirals (50% later than Sbc types) on one
hand, and a scarce population of early-type E(6.5%) and S0(8%) galaxies
amounting to 14.5% on the other hand. This magnitude-limited catalog is ~ 80%
complete at 16.5, 15.6, 15.0, 14.6 and 14.4 magnitudes in the ugriz bands
respectively. Some representative physical properties including SDSS magnitudes
and color distributions, color-color diagrams, absolute magnitude-color, and
concentration-color diagrams as a function of morphological type are presented.
The UNAM-KIAS Morphological Atlas is also released along with this paper. For
each galaxy of type later than Sa, a mosaic is presented that includes: (1) a
g-band logarithmic image, (2) a g band filtered-enhanced image where a Gaussian
kernel of various sizes was applied and (3) an RGB color image from the SDSS
database. For E/S0/Sa galaxies, in addition to the images in (1), (2) and (3),
plots of r band surface brightness and geometric profiles (ellipticity,
Position Angle PA and A4/B4 coefficients of the Fourier series expansions of
deviations of a pure ellipse) are provided...Comment: 40 pages, 17 figures and 3 table

Covariant perturbations of domain walls in curved spacetime
A manifestly covariant equation is derived to describe the perturbations in a
domain wall on a given background spacetime. This generalizes recent work on
domain walls in Minkowski space and introduces a framework for examining the
stability of relativistic bubbles in curved spacetimes.Comment: 15 pages,ICN-UNAM-93-0

Concept, Principles and Research Methods of African Environmental Ethics
[English]
This paper aims to discuss ten traditional and contemporary methodological paradigms in African philosophy, and demonstrates how they may apply to African environmental ethics research. The methods include: Ethno-philosophy, Sage Philosophy, Conversational Philosophy, Conceptual Mandelanization, Eco-Afrocentricism, Indigenous Language Analysis, Eco-Afro-feminism, Conceptual Decolonization, Storytelling Philosophy, and Cultural Adaptationism. The significance and limitations of the methodologies are highlighted. The concept and principles of African environmental ethics are analyzed and discussed to facilitate an understanding of the conceptual frameworks that underpin the methodologies. In conclusion, the discourse demonstrates that environmental ethics research in Africa should be based on African philosophical methodologies so as to facilitate production of research that will be relevant in African contexts.

Five new species of the genera Heerz Marsh, Lissopsius Marsh and Ondigus Braet, Barbalho and van Achterberg (Braconidae, Doryctinae) from the Chamela-Cuixmala biosphere reserve in Jalisco, Mexico
Five new species belonging to the poorly known Neotropical doryctine parasitoid wasps genera Heerz Marsh (H. ecmahla sp. n. and H. macrophthalma sp. n.), Lissopsius Marsh (L. pacificus sp. n. and L. jalisciensis sp. n.) and Ondigus Braet, Barbalho & van Achterberg (O. cuixmalensis sp. n.) are described from the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere reserve in Jalisco, Mexico. Keys to the described species of the above three genera are provided. The phylogenetic placement of the examined taxa is investigated based on mitochondrial (COI) and nuclear (28S, 2nd and 3rd domain regions) DNA sequence data.Fil: Zaldivar Riverón, Alejandro.
