In order to reduce the infection with Chalara elegans and C. thievlaviopsis of organically produced carrots biofumigation treatments with Brassica juncea were carried out. In the two years of the experiment we could not find an infection reducing effect of the biofumigation treatment compared to the control treatment (fallow)

Enediyne antitumor antibiotics have attracted immense attention among chemists and biologists alike because of their unique chemical structures, potent antitumor activities, and fascinating biological modes of action. As a novel addition to this family, the nonprotein and extremely strained nine-membered enediyne antibiotic N1999-A2 strongly inhibits the growth of various tumor cell lines and bacteria, and cleaves DNA in a base-specific manner. The attractive features of this molecule lie not only within the chemical structure being analogous to the neocarzinostatin chromophore, itself a potent anticancer agent, but also in that it can invoke remarkably strong biological activities even without a stabilizing apoprotein carrier and a glycoside functionality that can accelerate the rate of DNA cleavage. In this regard, N1999-A2 serves as a leading enediyne-based antitumor agent with minimal functionality that is able to act on DNA selectively. We therefore focused on this unique, unstable, and stereochemically unknown compound and undertook the formidable challenge of devising an efficient strategy that would be flexible enough to ultimately construct a series of related highly strained systems

This study aims to test the cash flow total, accounting income, cash flow from operationactivity, cash flow from investing activity and cash flow from financing activity are expectedto affect the stock price in annual reporting companies included in the LQ-45 firms inIndonesia Stock Exchange. The sample data used is the company that includes LQ-45 index in the period February 2008 to January 2011 using annual reports from each company for the fiscal year 2008 to 2010. Datas were analyzed by using the classical assumption test and multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS program ver16. The results of this studyindicate that the cash flow total and, accounting income had significant effect on stock pricein corporate annual reports because if accounting income increase then the investors willinvesting theirs money in that company, so the company's stock price will be increase too. Results of these studies in line with research conducted by the Triyono dan Jogiyanto Hartono (2000), Vicky Oktavia (2008) and others researchers. From the results of these studies shows that accounting income had significant positif effect on stock price in corporate annual reports, which Results of these studies in line with research conducted by Triyono dan Jogiyanto Hartono (2000) and Vicky Oktavia (2008). As a simultant test the cash flow total accounting income and accounting income had significant positif effect on stock price in corporate annual. Results of these studies had no significant effect on stock price in corporate annual reports between cash flow from investing activity, and cash flow from financing activity on stock price in partial (based on t-test) and simultant test (based on F-test), which Results of these studies not in line with research conducted by Triyono dan Jogiyanto Hartono (2000) and Vicky Oktavia (2008), but in line with research conducted by Dillah Utami Cahyani (1999)

Agglomeration of gas hydrate in a water-in-oil emulsion: Experimental and modeling studies

International audienceThe formation of gas hydrates in water-in-oil emulsion is investigated at the laboratory pilot scale on a flow loop. The Archimede flow loop (30 m long, and 1 cm diameter) has been built to reproduce the thermodynamic conditions encountered in deep-sea pipelines with a maximum flow rate equal to 3x10-5 m3.s-1. Recently, a Moineau pump has been added in order to maintain the flow at a constant rate, especially after the beginning of crystallization and independently of the rheological characteristics (the flow rate can be varied in the range 2x10-5 m3.s-1 to 14x10-5 m3.s-1). This work presents some preliminary experiments to characterize the flow properties. Also some crystallization experiments were realized in order to understand the coupling between crystallization and rheology by following the size of the agglomerates and the water conversion. When water droplets crystallize to form hydrate particles, an agglomeration phenomenon is evidenced by pressure drop measurements. The agglomeration phenomenon is also detected by a Focused Beam Reflectance Measurements (FBRM) probe and is highlighted by a sharp change in the mean chord length and a spread of the Chord Length Distribution (CLD) to larger chord length

A unified approach to total cross-sections, based on the QCD contribution to the rise with energy, is presented for the processes pppp, ppˉp{\bar p}, γp,γγ,e+ehadrons\gamma p, \gamma \gamma, e^+e^- \to hadrons. For proton processes, a discussion of the role played by soft gluon summation in taming the fast rise due to mini-jets is presented. For photon-photon processes, a comparison with other models indicates the need for precision measurements in both the low and high energy region, likely only with measurements at future Linear Colliders.Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures, LaTeX, uses hsproc.sty and art10.sty.
