It results in the development of the society surrounding art venues. The general population will always seek out entertainment, by installing a venue of artistic expression in South Providence that will motivate the community and propel development. This phenomena has been proven, as denoted through the historical evaluation of artistic venues across America that have generated economic growth in their respective communities

    Tribal Corridor Management Planning: Model, Case Study, and Guide for Caltrans District 1, Research Report 10-01

    In Northern California, tribal governments and personnel of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 1, have applied innovative context-sensitive solutions to meet a variety of transportation challenges along state highways that traverse tribal lands. This report describes and discusses the efforts under way and offer suggestions for continuing and extending these initiatives through the development of Tribal Corridor Management Plans (TCMPs). The methods employed in this project are multidisciplinary and include: (1) content analysis of existing corridor management plans; (2) literature review to identify “best practices;” (3) participant observation; (4) interviews with local stakeholders; (5) focus group interviews with Caltrans personnel; and (6) landscape analysis. This study’s authors conclude that Caltrans District 1 staff and tribal governments share common goals for highway operations; however, progress —while significant—has been somewhat hampered by geographic and administrative challenges. It is recommended that Caltrans and the tribes seek early and frequent communication and collaboration to overcome these obstacles. Further, they identify several examples of non-standard design elements that could be incorporated into highway improvements to enhance local sense of place among both residents and travelers. A preliminary TCMP for the segment of State Route 96 that lies within the boundaries of the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation is presented as an example. Beyond its role as a guide for initiating tribal corridor projects within Caltrans District 1, the report should prove instructive for any efforts to enhance sense of place within transportation byways, particularly in Native communities

    During 2015, the Endowment paid grants totaling 435.5million.Communitydevelopmentgrantsaccountedfor435.5 million. Community development grants accounted for 200.4 million (46 percent), religion grants accounted for 124.1million(29percent)andeducationgrantsaccountedfor124.1 million (29 percent) and education grants accounted for 111.0 million (25 percent). Most grants were paid to organizations in Indiana - a total of 257.8million(59percent).Ofthepaymenttotalof257.8 million (59 percent). Of the payment total of 435.5 million, 107.9million(25percent)waspaidtononMarionCountygranteesinIndianaand107.9 million (25 percent) was paid to nonMarion County grantees in Indiana and 149.9 million (34 percent) to Marion County (Indianapolis) grantees.     A Quality Enhancement Plan for Trinity University, 2008-2013 The development of information literacy—the ability to locate, gather, evaluate, and use information analytically and effectively—is the focus of Trinity University’s “Expanding Horizons” Quality Enhancement Plan. Trinity has always valued critical reading, analytical writing, and reasoned judgment as key components of a liberal arts education, and it supports a variety of opportunities for student research. However, the sheer volume of information and its rapidly changing forms challenge us to move beyond what we have traditionally done in and out of the classroom. Expanding Horizons asks faculty to design a creative and systematic approach to information literacy that is an integral part of the academic curriculum, and it asks staff and student leaders to reinforce information literacy in the co-curriculum. Over the next five years, “Expanding Horizons” will ensure that students are better prepared to work conscientiously and ethically with information in their coursework, and it will provide opportunities for students to apply similar critical thinking and research skills in their co-curricular lives. The result will be a campus culture that is more thoughtful, more informed, and thus more energized. This, in turn, will lead to graduates who are well prepared for their lives beyond Trinity

    Learning about the process and the results of mission definition in law schools has made palpable the tension between clarity and inflexibility, candor and marketing concerns, and the specificity that fosters accountability as opposed to the generality that embraces a vague multitude of approaches to the law school endeavor. Building on the strong endorsement of the use of mission statements in the original Best Practices for Legal Education, we present some “Best Practices” for both the development and the content of law school mission statements. We hope that this piece hastens further conversation and commentary that will foster a richer and more mindful perspective on this necessary--and potentially transformative--task of legal educators
