    Enhanced bidirectional authentication scheme for RFID communications in Internet of Things environment

    Among the security issues in the environment of the Internet of things (IOT), the security of information source is a privilege to be concerned. To protect data collection and control devices in IOT, first of all, ones shall ensure the authenticity of information source. To address the uncertainty problem of information sources in IOT, identity authentication technology is essential. In this study, we suggested an enhanced bidirectional authentication scheme that is suitable for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) communications among devices or between devices and control devices in an IOT environment. Specific improvement measures included three aspects: back-up terminals, a condition monitoring device to increase authentication properties, and an alarm mechanism. The enhanced bidirectional authentication protocol presented in this article has the characteristics of excellent performance in security and privacy protection, which could authenticate data contents, even positions and other data properties, and resist the replay or denial of service attacks; at the same time, it could overcome the defect of data asynchrony between the front end and the back end, providing users with excellent forward security. The simulation experiments showed that system reliability was greatly enhanced by adopting the proposed protocol

    Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology, which describes the transmission of unique information by a wireless device, over Radio waves, when prompted or read by a compatible reader; The basic components in implementing RFID are RFID tags which are small microchips attached to a radio antenna, mounted on a substrate, and a wireless transceiver/reader that queries the RFID tags; This thesis deals with research issues related to security aspects in the communication between an RFID tag and its reader. More precisely, it deals with a new, simple and efficient security protocol based on an encryption that uses the concept of regular public key regeneration, which can be effortlessly adopted in an RFID application

    In the vision for the 5G wireless communications advancement that yield new security prerequisites and challenges we propose a catalog of three new classes of pseudorandom random sequence generators. This dissertation starts with a review on the requirements of 5G wireless networking systems and the most recent development of the wireless security services applied to 5G, such as private-keys generation, key protection, and flexible authentication. This dissertation proposes new complexity theory-based, number-theoretic approaches to generate lightweight pseudorandom sequences, which protect the private information using spread spectrum techniques. For the class of new pseudorandom sequences, we obtain the generalization. Authentication issues of communicating parties in the basic model of Piggy Bank cryptography is considered and a flexible authentication using a certified authority is proposed

    Encrypted CDMA audio network

    We present a secure LAN using sound as the physical layer for low speed applications. In particular, we show a real implementation of a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint secure acoustic network, having a short range, consuming a negligible amount of power, and requiring no specific hardware on mobile clients. The present acoustic network provides VPN-like private channels to multiple users sharing the same medium. It is based on Time-hopping CDMA, and makes use of an encrypted Bloom filter. An asymmetrical error-correction is used to supply data integrity, even in the presence of strong interference. Simulations and real experiments show its feasibility.     Tamper detection in RFID-enabled supply chains using fragile watermarking

    While mainstream RFID research has been focused on solving privacy issues, security in general and data tampering in specific is still an open question. This paper analyzes potential security threats especially data tampering in RFID-enabled supply chains and proposes solutions how these threats might be addressed using fragile watermarking technologies. We first survey RFID system and its security problems, and then explain the importance of fragile watermarking schemes for RFID systems and possible applications using fragile watermarking to detect and locate any modification in RFID systems. Finally we suggest possible solutions using fragile watermarking for RFID-enabled supply chain
