Potentials of energy consumption measurements in office environments

Reducing energy consumption is one of the most pursued economic and ecologic challenges concerning societies as a whole, individuals and organizations alike. While politics start taking measures for energy turnaround and smart home energy monitors are becoming popular, few studies have touched on sustainability in office environments so far, though they account for almost every second workplace in modern economics. In this paper, we present findings of two parallel studies in an organizational context using behavioral change oriented strategies to raise energy awareness. Next to demonstrating potentials, it shows that energy feedback needs must fit to the local organizational context to succeed and should consider typical work patterns to foster accountability of consumption

Várias discussões reforçam o quanto as novas Tecnologias de Informação e Comu-nicação (TICs) podem ampliar o envolvimento e a participação da sociedade nos as-suntos públicos e tomadas de decisão. Contudo, apesar do interesse na discussão e promoção do envolvimento da Sociedade nos assuntos públicos, ainda nota-se um distanciamento entre Governo e Sociedade. Este relatório apresenta os resultados obtidos no levantamento bibliográfico para identificar propostas de pesquisa cujo objetivo seja promover a aproximação entre Governo e Sociedade a partir de discussões a respeito de processos de prestação de serviços públicos

A collaborative filtering based persona identification in requirements elicitation

Persona is a fictional character that archetypically represents a user group. Persona identification is an important step in requirements elicitation. A review of related literature has shown that the persona is identified using qualitative approaches such as ethnographic profiling, user observations and user interviews. These approaches classify users on the basis of demographics or behavioral patterns. The drawbacks for such qualitative approaches are: they focus on detailed information gathering rather than correctly identifying representative user of persona; identified personas are too subjective as different requirements analysts may create different personas; these approaches do not scale well for a large number user involvement due to the high computational complexity of processing unstructured data. This paper proposed the collaborative filtering based persona-scenario (CFPS) approach to identify persona by calculating the similarities between the representative user to other users, combining the collaborative filtering algorithm and the persona-scenario approach. The case study shows the proposed approach improves the efficiency and accuracy in persona identification and requirements elicitation
