Small Private Online Course (SPOC) platform enables individuals to carry out their learning tasks both online and offline. In order to understand individuals’ utilization of SPOC, this study develops a research model to examine the joint influences of three types of perceived fit manifested in perceived technology-task fit (TTF), perceived individual-technology fit (ITF) and perceived online-offline fit (OOF). A survey was conducted in a famous university of China and 371 data were collected from students who selected courses on the SPOC platform. Structural equation modelling method was used to examine the research model. The empirical results suggest that ITF is the most significant antecedent of individual performance expectancy, followed by OOF and TTF. Moreover, individual performance expectancy has a positive influence on user satisfaction and individuals’ continuance intention in the SPOC platform. A post-hoc analysis further indicates that student’s GPA positively moderates the relationship between online participation behavior and course performance. This study extends the traditional perceived fit framework by introducing perceived online-offline fit, and uncovers the antecedents and outcomes of individuals’ utilization in the emerging research context of SPOC

The improvement of science and technology has made life so easy and fast that smartphones and other touch-screen minicomputers have become the most trusted personal storage and communication devices for individuals. Comparable to the rich enhancement in wireless body sensor networks, it is valuable to the development of medical treatment to be exceptionally adaptable and become very flexible by means of smartphones through 2G and 3G system bearers. This has made treatment simple even to the common individual in the general public with less payable cash. In this paper, we introduce privacy-preserving support for mobile healthcare using message digest where we have used an MD5 algorithm instead of AES, which can certainly achieve an efficient way and minimizes the memory consumed and the large amount of PHI data of the medical user (patient) is reduced to a fixed amount of size compared to AES which in parallel increases the speed of the data to be sent to TA without any delay which in-turn. This study implements a secure and privacy-preserving opportunistic computing framework (SPOC) for mobile-health care emergency. Utilizing smartphones and SPOC, assets like computing power and energy can be gathered to reliably to take care of intensive personal health information (PHI) of the medicinal client when he/she is in critical situation with minimal privacy disclosure. With these, the healthcare authorities can treat the patients (restorative clients) remotely, where the patients live at home or at different spots they run. This sort of a treatment can be done under mHealth (Mobile-Healthcare). In malice of the fact that in them-medicinal services administration, there are numerous security and information protection issues to be succeed. The main aim of this paper is to bring medical health to patients in remote locations by providing the basic triage of an emergency to increase the patient’s body acceptance until they can reach a proper medical facility, in addition to providing emergency care in minimal payable cash

An IoT Framework for Addressing Parents Concerns about Safety of School Going Children

In this paper, we have proposed a novel application using Internet of things (IOT). This application is focused to address the concerns of the parents towards their school going kids. Mainly the concerns of the parents are to ensure the safety of their kids in school bus as well as at school premises. In this paper, we have tried to provide detailed technical implementation about how different sensing, communication technologies clubbing together provides a platform in terms of IoT, where proposed application can be implemented to ensure safety of school going children as it is the priority and concern for parents. In Proposed application, parents get notification when his child boards the bus for school and gets down the bus at home’s doorstep. Parents also get notification when child enters his Class Room first time in a day. Parents any time can access the location his child or school bus in which his child is travelling. In case of emergency, child can disseminate the signal to parents / Single point of contact (SPOC) at school to make them aware about emergency

Online Education and Teaching Reform on Higher Education Development in China

Lifelong Education has changed the old view of the end of education, and promoted sustainable development of education, which is a strategic goal of social development. Lifelong education exhibit new features to further achieve educational equity with the technical support of MOOC/SPOC. In recent years, teaching reform of applied chemistry profession promoted by Department of higher education has gradually gone deeper, but there are still some problems and difficulties, such as contradictions among basic of specialized subject, teaching hours and teaching content, difficulties of lifting of the teaching content and improvement of teaching quality, which restrict teaching reform process. Teaching practice experience of SPOC in applied chemistry profession is simply introduced, proposing countermeasure for SPOC in college teaching applications designed to enhance the quality of teaching for reference

Analysis of the cores of these Improvements of Online Teaching System and Model-Based on the Evaluation and Feedback on the Online Teaching Model and Teaching Platform

In recent years, MOOC, SPOC and other online teaching modes have attracted widespread attention. Online teaching platforms such as Tencent Classroom and MOOC of Chinese universities have emerged in an endless stream. During the 2020 outbreak of COVID-19, schools at all levels actively engaged in online teaching. The problems and challenges faced in the course of this teaching process will push the research hotspots of modern educational technology to construct the online teaching model that meets the needs of colleges and universities in the context of Internet + Education . This study collected the evaluation and feedback of college students from different universities and different majors on online teaching mode and teaching platform, conducted a quantitative study of SPSS samples, and analyzed the influence of learners\u27 and teachers\u27 participation on online teaching effect. Results show that: there is a positive correlation between learners\u27 attitude towards online teaching and the effect of online teaching, and between learners\u27 participation and the effect of online teaching. There is also a positive correlation between teacher’s participation and effect of online teaching. There is no clear correlation between learners\u27 use of equipment and online teaching effectiveness. Through the interview, learners reported low self-evaluation in online learning, and there are some problems in the teaching process, such as lack of teaching experience, poor platform interaction ability, and low supervision ability of managers. This study argues that in the development of online teaching, learners\u27 and platform users\u27 sense of experience and teachers\u27 participation should be further improved and perfected

The 2022 “Frontier of Educational Technology” summer school was held by the Department of Educational Technology, Graduate School of Education, Peking University from July 4th 2022 to July 8th 2022. In order to ensure the learning quality, a small private online course was designed for the first time. A series of learning activities such as ice-breaking trip, expert lectures, group discussions, and group presentation were carried out with the help of the course management system, live broadcast platform and social media groups. We analyzed the data recorded by the course management system and found that more than half of the students participated in all learning activities, and the final completion rate of the summer school is as high as 89.86%. An online questionnaire was used to examine students’ subjective responses to the pedagogy and course performance. The results showed that the average score of almost all the questions in the questionnaire is greater than 4.3 points (out of 5.0), indicating that most students are satisfied or very satisfied with this pedagogy. Suggestions for improvement and future expectations are put forward, and can provide a reference for the full-online SPOC practice and research that are being widely carried out around the world

SPOC is characterized by improving teaching effectiveness. Currently open teaching mode is the popular trend, which is mainly related to several aspects: how to carry out teaching practice by using MOOC proprietary, high-quality online teaching resources in open education, that is, deep integration of curriculum resources and teaching design. On the basis of SPOC development, combined with open education analysis of SPOC with instructional design theory and philosophy from flipped classroom as a guide, the present research try to propose instructional design model based on flipped classroom, including design of teaching content system, design of personalized learning strategies, design of teaching activities and teaching evaluation system. Four designs above contribute to the effective implementation of the open teaching activities based on the blended model of flipped classroom and SPOC teaching, so as to enhance the quality of education.
