Tinjauan terhadap pengetahuan, kemahiran dan minat dalam bidang keusahawanan di kalangan peserta kursus jangka pendek anjuran Jabatan Pendidikan Teknik dan Vokasional

The purpose of this research is to determine the knowledge, skill and enthusiasm among participants short term course organized by Jabatan Pendidikan Teknik dan Vokasional (JPTV). Fifty-four participants from three short term courses, Kursus Usahawan Berasas Kimpalan, Kursus Penyelenggaraan dan Pemasangan Komputer dan Kursus Chargeman AO are selected as respondents to gather feedbacks based on the questionnaire distributed. Collected data is analyzed by using Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS), 11.0 version, which were represented using mean scores, percentage and Correlations Pearson. The result of this research shows that majority of the participants are enthusiasm towards entrepreneurship but they are lack of knowledge and skill in entrepreneurship basic. "Garis Panduan Asas Keusahawanan " had been created to give knowledge and skill entrepreneurship basic for participants short term course organized by JPTV

The University in the Learning Economy

In all parts of the world, universities are exposed to a growing pressure to change. This is caused by the emergence of new relationship between the economic dynamics and the production of knowledge as well as by policy and administrative initiatives finding their rationale in interpretations of these changes. In this paper an attempt is made to specify some of the new challenges, and suggest appropriate responses. Under the heading ‘the learning economy’ changes in the context of universities are identified. One important conclusion is that traditional modes of organisation, characterised by sharp and rigid borders between disciplines and isolation from the society at large are being challenged and alternatives have to be developed. Another conclusion is that strategies of alliance and networking have become a key factor behind the success of universities. A third conclusion is that the universities’ most significant contribution to society and the economy will remain welleducated graduates with critical minds and good learning skills.Production of knowledge, education, networks

Aprendizaje basado en proyectos como metodología alternativa en la educación tecnológica

This article presents an analysis of current university teaching practices, and Project-Based Learning is introduced as an alternative methodology to improve said practices. In addition, this document includes examples of how this methodology was applied in four Electronics-related courses from different universities, to guide those willing to apply it.En el presente artículo se hace un diagnóstico de la práctica docente universitaria y se presenta el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos como una metodología alternativa con el fin de mejorar dicha práctica, además se muestra cómo se aplicó esta metodología en cuatro cursos relacionados con la Electrónica en diferentes universidades, con el fin de orientar a quienes estén dispuestos a aplicarla

Active learning based laboratory towards engineering education 4.0

Universities have a relevant and essential key role to ensure knowledge and development of competencies in the current fourth industrial revolution called Industry 4.0. The Industry 4.0 promotes a set of digital technologies to allow the convergence between the information technology and the operation technology towards smarter factories. Under such new framework, multiple initiatives are being carried out worldwide as response of such evolution, particularly, from the engineering education point of view. In this regard, this paper introduces the initiative that is being carried out at the Technical University of Catalonia, Spain, called Industry 4.0 Technologies Laboratory, I4Tech Lab. The I4Tech laboratory represents a technological environment for the academic, research and industrial promotion of related technologies. First, in this work, some of the main aspects considered in the definition of the so called engineering education 4.0 are discussed. Next, the proposed laboratory architecture, objectives as well as considered technologies are explained. Finally, the basis of the proposed academic method supported by an active learning approach is presented.Postprint (published version
