Purpose: The article highlights the multi-task nature and prospects of the development of the transit potential of warehouse logistics systems, reveals the theoretical and methodological foundations of logistics in the storage and cargo handling system, indicates and confirms the importance of warehousing logistics in the context of servicing the growing volumes of electronic commerce. Design/Methodology/Approach: For the purposes of developing logistics in the storage and cargo handling system we study the technical and technological support and design developments that have significant potential for increasing the efficiency of logistics processes, and to study consumer behavior in the warehouse services market and transport market trends - warehouse activities. Findings: Automation significantly simplifies logistics processes, information exchange, remote control and management, optimizes costs by combining various market entities and objects, target groups and parameters of logistics processes on electronic platforms. Integration in modern logistics allows synchronizing the complex information component of electronic services and platforms and activating the formation of a system interface that is common for all elements of the logistics system of warehousing, cargo processing and inventory management. Practical implications: The results of the study can be implemented in the activities of Russian companies in order to develop the transit potential of warehouse logistics systems. Originality/value: The significance of this study lies in shifting the emphasis to the need to switch to improved customer service systems taking into account the needs and development of online retail and fulfillment of logistics operators (full-cycle operator: taking goods from the customer’s warehouse, responsible storage, packaging, delivery, work with returns), tied to the development of infrastructure, as the foundation for increasing the efficiency, speed and quality of logistics processes.peer-reviewe

On the correct continuum limit of the functional-integral representation for the four-slave-boson approach to the Hubbard model: Paramagnetic phase

The Hubbard model with finite on-site repulsion U is studied via the functional-integral formulation of the four-slave-boson approach by Kotliar and Ruckenstein. It is shown that a correct treatment of the continuum imaginary time limit (which is required by the very definition of the functional integral) modifies the free energy when fluctuation (1/N) corrections beyond mean-field are considered. Our analysis requires us to suitably interpret the Kotliar and Ruckenstein choice for the bosonic hopping operator and to abandon the commonly used normal-ordering prescription, in order to obtain meaningful fluctuation corrections. In this way we recover the exact solution at U=0 not only at the mean-field level but also at the next order in 1/N. In addition, we consider alternative choices for the bosonic hopping operator and test them numerically for a simple two-site model for which the exact solution is readily available for any U. We also discuss how the 1/N expansion can be formally generalized to the four-slave-boson approach, and provide a simplified prescription to obtain the additional terms in the free energy which result at the order 1/N from the correct continuum limit.Comment: Changes: Printing problems (due to non-standard macros) have been removed, 44 page

Challenges in the industrialization process of low-volume production systems

A critical part of new product development projects is the industrialization process of new products which affects both time and the cost. The industrialization of new products or variants in low-volume production systems has some specific challenges which are caused by characteristics of low-volume products and production systems. Therefore, an exploratory case study is made within two Swedish manufacturing companies to understand these challenges and compare the industrialization process in high and low volume production systems. The results of the multiple case studies indicate four challenges including knowledge transfer from the projects into production, development of the work instructions, the need for a higher level of training of the operators and production system design and the obligatory tailoring of the new products to the existing production systems
