Animal sound classification using dissimilarity spaces

    Get PDF
The classifier system proposed in this work combines the dissimilarity spaces produced by a set of Siamese neural networks (SNNs) designed using four different backbones with different clustering techniques for training SVMs for automated animal audio classification. The system is evaluated on two animal audio datasets: one for cat and another for bird vocalizations. The proposed approach uses clustering methods to determine a set of centroids (in both a supervised and unsupervised fashion) from the spectrograms in the dataset. Such centroids are exploited to generate the dissimilarity space through the Siamese networks. In addition to feeding the SNNs with spectrograms, experiments process the spectrograms using the heterogeneous auto-similarities of characteristics. Once the similarity spaces are computed, each pattern is \u201cprojected\u201d into the space to obtain a vector space representation; this descriptor is then coupled to a support vector machine (SVM) to classify a spectrogram by its dissimilarity vector. Results demonstrate that the proposed approach performs competitively (without ad-hoc optimization of the clustering methods) on both animal vocalization datasets. To further demonstrate the power of the proposed system, the best standalone approach is also evaluated on the challenging Dataset for Environmental Sound Classification (ESC50) dataset

Pilkada Serentak is a very important event for the future viability regions and countries. Through this election people can cast their vote and elect representatives of the people according to their choice. Public respond can be expressed through twitter social media. Using twitter social media sentiment analysis can then be made about the public response to the implementation of the election simultaneously. The classification process can be detected via text tweeted by twitter users. In this study, the classification of responses detected by text because it is easily obtained and applied. This study determined the classification of the response to the Indonesian language text and increase accuracy by using SVM.Tweet classification method used by the categorical approach is divided into two classes tweet basic level: positive and negative. Data collected from Indonesian twitter tweet as much as 3000. The labeling is not done manually but using clustering method that divides the 3000 data into two groups. Cluster 1 as a group of positive tweets and Cluster 2 as a negative group tweet.2700 for training data and 300 for the test data. The stage of pre-processing the data includetokenization, casenormalization, stop word detection, and stemming. The process of classification using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Accuracy of SVM showed the highest yield that is 91% compared to the k-means clustering with the results of 82%

Automatic document classification of biological literature

Background: Document classification is a wide-spread problem with many applications, from organizing search engine snippets to spam filtering. We previously described Textpresso, a text-mining system for biological literature, which marks up full text according to a shallow ontology that includes terms of biological interest. This project investigates document classification in the context of biological literature, making use of the Textpresso markup of a corpus of Caenorhabditis elegans literature. Results: We present a two-step text categorization algorithm to classify a corpus of C. elegans papers. Our classification method first uses a support vector machine-trained classifier, followed by a novel, phrase-based clustering algorithm. This clustering step autonomously creates cluster labels that are descriptive and understandable by humans. This clustering engine performed better on a standard test-set (Reuters 21578) compared to previously published results (F-value of 0.55 vs. 0.49), while producing cluster descriptions that appear more useful. A web interface allows researchers to quickly navigate through the hierarchy and look for documents that belong to a specific concept. Conclusions: We have demonstrated a simple method to classify biological documents that embodies an improvement over current methods. While the classification results are currently optimized for Caenorhabditis elegans papers by human-created rules, the classification engine can be adapted to different types of documents. We have demonstrated this by presenting a web interface that allows researchers to quickly navigate through the hierarchy and look for documents that belong to a specific concept

Brain image clustering by wavelet energy and CBSSO optimization algorithm

    Get PDF
Previously, the diagnosis of brain abnormality was significantly important in the saving of social and hospital resources. Wavelet energy is known as an effective feature detection which has great efficiency in different utilities. This paper suggests a new method based on wavelet energy to automatically classify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain images into two groups (normal and abnormal), utilizing support vector machine (SVM) classification based on chaotic binary shark smell optimization (CBSSO) to optimize the SVM weights. The results of the suggested CBSSO-based KSVM are compared favorably to several other methods in terms of better sensitivity and authenticity. The proposed CAD system can additionally be utilized to categorize the images with various pathological conditions, types, and illness modes
